IsitaRomanresidenceoraluxuryboatreadytosetsail?Fromthe innovationofarchitectGiorgiaDennerleincomesCasaFarnesina,a projectthatsumsuprigorandfluiditythroughcontinuouslines, transparenciesandcustom-madeinteriors.Theowner,an entrepreneurwithagreatpassionforboating,leftDennerleinaraw fabrictobeshapedashechose,anopenspacewithonlycolumnsto supportstructureandimagination.Dennerleinintervenesbybreaking thetraditionalpatternofsubdivisionofspaceandimprintingthe designasifitwereapieddansl’eau,withoutsharpedges, sophisticatedandtailored.Everythinghasbeendesignedand handcraftedwithaworkofhighcarpentry,wherethewallshavethe warmtextureofwallpapersARTEeffeitaliaandDEDARthatreferto thelinearhorizonoftheseawhenitiscalmorthestreakingofshells.
Theflooringisasingleskinthatrunsthroughoutthehouse,abeigecoloredTurkishtravertinestonewithnoveining.Thefloorheatingis justoneofthemanydevicesthatmaketheresidencedomoticandhigh performancetechnology.Thearchitectchoosestooptimizetheoverall dimensions,thinkingoflifeatthewater’sedge,studyingandrealizing largepillsandcabinetsthatserveasbackdropstoseparatefunctions andenvironments,suchastheoneinthelivingroomthatalso
incorporatesthefireplaceandwheretheAbsoluandSherazadesofas byEDRAstandoutlikesolosinanorchestrainfrontofarefined GLASlowtable.Forthebanquet,thetableandchairsarebyBAXTER. TheonlydarknoteistheDAYTONAconsoletable.
Thisshell-likesoulfindsitsnaturalbackingintheceilings,onwhich largeceilingstreatedwithsilverleafarecarvedtoreflectthelight, creatingaplayofreflectionsandtransparencies,markingthe importanceoflightinthedesignphilosophy.Theimpressionof touchingthepineswithonefingercontinuesinthemainbathroom, wherethehighqualityfinisheswithRITMONIOsatinbrasstapsofthe highestleveljumptotheeyes.
