A BETTER WAY TO MOVE. SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY
SKYACTIV-G 1.5L PETROL ENGINE The low weight, low friction and high efficiency fundamentals of SKYACTIV-G petrol engine design result in sporty performance with minimised fuel use. The engine uses i-stop to save extra fuel by switching the engine off when you come to a standstill, re-starting instantly as required. Its 4-2-1 exhaust layout helps produce 81kW of power and 141Nm of torque. Just 4.9 litres of fuel is used every 100km when matched to the 6-speed (SKYACTIV-Drive) automatic transmission.
Getting around never felt so good. All-New Mazda2 is light on its feet around town, smooth-riding sure of itself and sporty good fun everywhere you go. At every level, breakthrough SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY has reduced weight and ramped up efficiency. The 1.5 litre petrol engine gives you lots of go, yet uses very little fuel. There are automatic or manual transmissions — both responsive and refined. Add a body that cuts quietly through the air, and Mazda2 moves you in the most enjoyable way you could imagine.

SKYACTIV-CHASSIS Every component has been optimised to build the sense of ‘oneness’ between car and driver. The lightweight front strut and rear torsion beam suspension uses firmer bushings and revised geometry for sporty agility with high levels of refinement. Electric power-assisted steering saves fuel, and also delivers quick handling underpinned by reassuring stability.

The 6-speed SKYACTIV-MT manual transmission delivers precise, sports-car style shifting through simplified design and a finely-honed mechanism. More compact and also much lighter than comparable transmissions, it significantly cuts internal friction to improve fuel economy.
Combines the best aspects of conventional automatic, continuously variable and dual clutch transmissions. The 6-speed SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmission couples directly with the engine over a far wider range than other automatics for increased fuel economy and more direct power delivery. Shifts are quick and smooth.
SKYACTIV-BODY New-generation design and materials maximise lightness and rigidity. Key joints are strengthened by advanced techniques requiring no heavy reinforcement. All-New Mazda2 gives you the world-class collision protection of an extremely rigid body. You’ve got agile responses to help you stay clear of trouble, plus a suite of safety features that are steeled for anything. All-New Mazda2 is light to allow sporty performance – yet its body is immensely strong, with multiple load paths diverting crash energy away from the occupant cell. Six SRS airbags are integrated, including front, side (front) and curtain (front and rear). Seat belt reminders feature throughout while driver and front passenger belts have pretensioners and load-limiters. The latest in safety is there for you. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with integrated Traction Control System (TCS) is standard. The stopping power incorporates ABS and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), which optimises braking force according to the vehicle’s load. Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) recognises urgent braking, maximising braking force right when you need it. The Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) bolsters safety by flashing the hazard lights to warn drivers behind. All-New Mazda2 also gives you high security. Remote control locking and an engine immobiliser are standard. The advanced safety of i-ACTIVSENSE technology3 also features on GSX and Limited models. Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) are available from GSX grade, while Limited models also feature High Beam Control (HBC), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and Smart City Brake Support (SCBS). SMART CITY BRAKE SUPPORT (SCBS) Helps avoid, or reduces, low-speed impacts. Working at 4 - 30km/h, SCBS monitors the vehicle in front to assess the chance of a collision. If it determines the risk is high, it applies initial braking pressure to deliver faster response should you brake. If you brake, the system de-activates. If you don’t brake, SCBS brakes automatically. Limited Grade Only.
HELP RIGHT WHEN YOU NEED IT In case of an unexpected hazard, Mazda2 is prepared. DSC acts instantly, braking the inner rear wheel to offset understeer (or outer front wheel to combat oversteer). The Traction Control System (TCS) also reduces torque to the driven wheels to minimise skidding. With control maintained, the hazard can be steered around. Standard on all models.
