Level 3 Agricultural Engineering (Parts, Sales and Marketing) apprenticeship 2016 Job title: Service Manager “I chose an engineering apprenticeship over university after ‘A’ levels because employers look for practical skills as well as classroom knowledge.

“Reaseheath’s agricultural engineering department has a high profile within the industry and its courses have a great balance between practical and academic sessions. Everything in my programme was relevant and my qualification has helped me to progress. I’ve learned transferable skills that I can take with me wherever I go.

“I began my career with Guy Machinery, Lancashire, managing the spares storeroom and running promotions. I then moved to Clarke and Pulman, a larger dealership, where I’ve been promoted from Parts Manager to Service Manager. I now oversee six agricultural engineering technicians, interact with customers and ensure the workshops run smoothly.”

Level 3 Construction Plant Apprenticeship 2018 School: Aquinas College, Stockport Job title: British Antarctic Survey engineer Ambition: To travel the world “I qualified as a construction plant engineer after a three year apprenticeship with Arnold Plant Hire. I studied at Reaseheath, which was a great way to get to grips with the latest technology.

“I’m back from a great 18 month adventure as a member of the British Antarctic Survey, working in one of the most remote places on earth. I was leading a team of engineers looking after heavy machinery being used to build a new wharf for research ships in temperatures as low as -50C.

“I had an amazing time and it was an incredible experience. I’m going back soon as the traverse vehicles engineering manager.” Your Reaseheath Experience

I really enjoyed my apprenticeship, because you get paid while you learn, the block release system breaks up the work nicely and I’ve enjoyed making friends from all over the country who have similar interests to me. Industry view

Miguel Vicos

Managing Director of Operations, HSS Hire “Reaseheath’s engineering apprenticeship programmes are a great investment. They offer a good career path which improves staff recruitment and retention and attract bright young people into the industry. We get a reliable source of well trained and committed engineers and this gives us the confidence to grow our company. “The bespoke programmes work for us because our apprentice fitters learn about a broad range of products and, importantly, future products. This gives them the knowledge and skills to understand how all the equipment in our range operates and they are able either to carry out repairs themselves or to recognise the fault and pass it on to a specialist engineer.”
