Welcome to

Casual

DINING

The eating out sector has changed dramatically in recent years. Pubs have shifted their focus to concentrate on providing a quality food offering and our high streets are increasingly dominated by thriving branded restaurant chains. Whichever way you look at it, casual dining has become the main battle ground for the UK’s restaurant industry. It’s a sector where innovation, branding and differentiation have become the keys to success and where the UK, increasingly, is seen as a world leader. Yet, this huge multi-billion pound sector has never had a dedicated trade show where the industry can come together to get inspiration, see the latest products and do business. Until now! Casual Dining will see over 120 innovative food, drink, equipment, table top, furniture, interior design, technology and services suppliers do business with the best senior buyers and decision makers from across the branded restaurant and pub sectors, as well as the finest independent and multiple operators that the casual dining sector has to offer.

Developed in partnership with with the industry Casual Dining has been developed in consultation with leading industry suppliers and operators, to ensure it meets the needs for this dynamic, fast changing industry and becomes the premier event for the sector. Featuring demonstrations, features, a vibrant exhibition floor and with the attention to detail which Diversified Business Communications has become known for, Casual Dining will inspire and engage any serious restaurant operator involved in the dynamic casual dining sector.

Consultation We already have strong relationships in the industry through the multi-award-winning trade show lunch!, and the launch of Casual Dining has come as a direct result of conversations with exhibitors, who are looking for an effective event for reaching the rapidly growing casual dining sector. This has been followed up with universally positive conversations with leading operators who agree that the sector would benefit from a dedicated, focused event which meets their specific needs.

Advisory panel Casual Dining benefits from an advisory panel of leading operators and suppliers, who give valuable input and insights to make sure every detail of the show has been thought through.

Perfect timing Casual Dining will take place on Wednesday 26 – Thursday 27 February 2014, perfectly timed to coincide with the buying cycle for most operators.

A great venue The UK leads the way in casual dining and a dedicated trade show which brings together and offers inspiration and solutions for this important sector is well overdue. MARK BRIDGE, GROUP BUYING EXECUTIVE, GLENDOLA/FOUNDATION GROUP

The show will take place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, providing a fantastic, boutique style backdrop. The venue is located in one of the most vibrant areas of London, with a host of great casual dining restaurants and bars nearby. With its beautiful architecture and contemporary interior, it’s the perfect venue for Casual Dining.

Presentation From the time people arrive, to when they leave, Casual Dining aims to deliver the ‘wow factor’ in a dynamic, stylish environment which reflects the values and aspirations of the casual dining sector. Little touches like live music on the show floor, the Casual Dining Plaza networking area, plus features and informal yet world class seminars, will help the show stand apart.

Attracting a quality audience According to Horizons, the casual dining market (defined as between £10 and £20 spend) in the UK is worth around £6.6 billion per annum. From restaurants like Pizza Express, Strada, Cote, Carluccios, Giraffe, Frankie and Benny’s and the many other iconic brands on the high street, to independents and contract caterers, and the huge pub operators like Mitchells & Butlers, Whitbred, Greene King and Wetherspoon’s – the eating out market is dominated by the casual dining sector. It’s also a sector, which despite the woes of other parts of the economy, is forecast to continue to experience strong growth. This is the market covered by Casual Dining and it will be backed by an extensive marketing campaign targeting all decision makers, from the largest operator to independent gastro pubs and contract caterers.

100% relevant Only companies that have products which are directly relevant to the casual dining sector will be invited to exhibit, to ensure total relevance for the all-important decision makers attending. We will also aim to make sure that there is a broad and balanced representation from the various parts of the industry and the show doesn’t get dominated by any one category. This balance is crucial to ensure visitors have an enjoyable and productive visit to the event. Sectors include: food and drink | interior design | furniture | kitchen equipment | front of house solutions | technology | table top
