TAYLOR A ‘flair player’ during

his days at Crystal Palace and Tottenham, Peter has become one of the game’s most respected coaches with a reputation for developing young players. A former England Under 21 manager, Peter returns to the show for the second time.

CURBISHLEY 2010 is Alan’s debut at

Grass Roots Football LIVE. The former West Ham manager was best known for his long spell as manager at Charlton Athletic where he produced a string of young talent to revive the fortunes of the club and keep them in the Premier League for many years.

BURLEY Although appearing for 8 professional clubs in England and

Scotland, George’s playing career will be best remembered for his part in a successful Ipswich Town team of the late 70’s – early 80’s. George moved into management in 1991 and enjoyed successful spells at a number of clubs including Derby County, Ipswich Town and Southampton, before becoming manager of Scotland. or the third year.

DOWIE Former Northern Ireland

International Iain Dowie is making his debut at Grass Roots Football LIVE. Dowie made the journey from non league footballer to Premier League striker with Southampton and West Ham, before embarking on a career in management.

CARR Tony has

been the Academy Director at West Ham United for more than 30 years where he has been responsible for the early development of a stunning array of players including Paul Ince, Paul Allen, Tony Cottee, Paul Konchesky, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Frank Lampard, Anton Ferdinand, Jermain Defoe, Michael Carrick and many more.

FARRELL With a reputation

as one of the country’s most innovative coaches of young players, Tosh spent many years at Everton FC Academy developing some of the brightest young prospects in the English game including the likes of Wayne Rooney and Jack Rodwell in their formative years.

DICKS Although blighted by a number of

serious knee injuries, Julian still managed to clock up 375 appearances over a 14 year career that started at Birmingham City, including a short spell at Liverpool in between 10 years (over two spells) as a mercurial left back at West Ham United

TAYLOR One of the country’s most respected

managers, now providing incisive comment as part of the respected FiveLive commentary team, the former England and Aston Villa manager returns to Grass Roots Football LIVE for the fourth year.

HOLLOWAY One of football’s most colourful characters,

Ian was a hard working midfield player at Bristol City and Queens Park Rangers, who he went on to manage. Following his debut at Grass Roots Football LIVE in 2009, Ian has had a sensational first season at Blackpool, taking them up to the Premier League.

Jon retired due to injury aged 28. During his rehabilitation, Jon studied for and gained a Sports Science degree at Roehampton Institute. He went on to work as a Sports Scientist at Premiership and International level and in 2005, launched Think Fitness, a performance management company aimed at providing specialist coaching to professional footballers.

DE HOOP Ton is one of Europe’s most experienced

coach educators with more than 30 year’s experience. A staff instructor at the Royal Dutch Soccer Federation for 11 years, Ton’s former students include Dutch legends Ruud Krol, Wim Kieft and Danny Blind as well as current Manchester United coach Rene Mullerstein. Ton will be at Grass Roots Football LIVE in his role of President of Winning Mood Inc.

STONEY Casey has played for England at every age

group. She joined Chelsea Ladies in 2007 and last season stepped up to become player-manager. Casey will be joining the Women’s Football Forum at this year’s show, her second in succession and can also be found on stand 534 in her role as an ambassador for S1 Sport.

BESWICK Bill is recognised as a leader in the field of applied sports

psychology and especially renowned for his work with professional elite football teams. Having worked at the very top of the game at Manchester United and with the England national team Bill is a sought after internationally renowned speaker, providing audiences with masses of thought provoking ideas. for


RICHARDSON Lee played for a total of 11 clubs

DEELEY Louise has been working as a Sport

both north and south of the border and spent more than two years in charge of Chesterfield, stepping up from his role of assistant to Roy McFarland. He led the club to finishes of 8th and 10th respectively in Coca Cola League Two during his time in charge.

Psychologist for over 16 years and is Managing Director of Inside Performance Consulting Ltd. Previously a Senior Lecturer in Sport Psychology at Roehampton University, Louise now focuses solely on working in sport, both as a coach educator and also one to one with athletes and players.

D. GOODMAN Instantly recognisable during a

distinguished playing career, Don returns to Grass Roots Football LIVE for the 4th year as one of our expert interviewers. In a playing career that lasted 20 years, Don enjoyed his best spells at West Bromwich Albion, Sunderland and Wolves where as a lightning quick striker he scored 133 goals in 399 appearances. the

WHITE A regular at Grass Roots Football LIVE, Faye is one of England’s best known women footballers, having led Arsenal Ladies to countless league and cup triumphs as well as captaining her country through one of England’s most successful periods.r the third year.

SMITH Alan will be making his debut at

BATES Tom’s experience as

a Sports Psychologist has seen him work with national and international footballers and athletes across Great Britain at both senior and youth team level. Currently working with Premier League Birmingham City Football Club, Tom specialises in Mind Body Training, guiding coaches and players to enhance their mental and emotional state to reach peak performance. He started his football career at non-league Alvechurch but was quickly spotted by Leicester City where he enjoyed a fruitful 5 seasons which included a feared partnership with Gary Linekar. BASHIR A former coach

at Wycombe Wanderers, Nas, who holds the much coveted UEFA pro-license joined the Academy set up at Reading Football Club in 2003 where he spent 5 years working with a variety of age groups.

SPARQ, Nike’s performance training platform, will unveil a professional-level physical development experience targeted to youth coaches and centered around its global standard of physical assessment: The SPARQ Football Rating. WORLD CUP FUTSAL FOOTBALL FESTIVAL

On Sunday 6th, the Futsal Arena will be featuring a Junior World Cup Football Festival. The tournament has been organised in conjunction with the Birmingham 2018 Bid Team. Young teams will be representing Spain, Brazil, USA, Holland, Australia, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Japan in a round robin tournament. The Futsal Arena will also feature specialist demonstrations and coaching as well as offering visitors a chance to ‘have a go’ at the UK’s fastest growing small sided game.
