Pave your path with peace
Article LEONIE FEATHERSTONE
When I look out my office window across the green paddock with contrasting brown and black cattle, my eyes are drawn up the hills to the majestic canopy of our blue Queensland sky and I feel peace settling on me like a soft and assuring Cashmere shawl.

But it’s not always like that. There are days when things just don’t go to plan. We have children, businesses, parental and community obligations and there are days when I feel like someone pressed the ‘overload’ button and it is stuck with ‘super glue’!
It’s at times like this that I remind myself…
“Be kind.” Just two words. And yet the actions embodied by these two words can be the key to unlocking the door to Peace. Peace in MY life – just for a start…
Someone once said, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”
We never really know how another person’s life is playing out, do we? So, what if we kick judgment to the curb and just concentrate on living OUR life in the manner that WE desire so that OUR inner peace will then flow on to those around us?
What if we created a Sensory Peace Vault? An instantly recalled awareness of everything that showers ALL OUR senses with calming outcomes.
What if we identify our ‘Peace Burglars’ so we know what disharmonious elements to eliminate? What if we set strong boundaries fortified by our value system to create an invisible shield?
And then, what if we started being kind to ourselves; less critical, more grateful, and more appreciative of our own worthiness? For when we are content and happy within, it is much easier to share that peace and happiness with others.
Being kind and at peace is not all about buying homeless people meals and showering gifts on our loved ones. It can be as simple as:
• Smiling into the eyes of a stranger on the street
• Listening thoughtfully to someone’s story with the intent of understanding them
• Holding crucial (and sometimes difficult) conversations with your children so they can be empowered to be the best version of themselves
• Knowing when to stay silent
• Allowing others to shine
• Seeing the best in others
• Shining the torch of Hope so that others may find their Self Belief switch
Two doTERRA essential oils that I love to use to help me let go of negativity and allow peaceful kindness to flow to myself and others are Frankincense and Neroli.
I roll both on the palms of my hands and back of my neck and shoulders and massage gently. I then cup my hands around my nose and breathe deeply as I reassure myself with the simple affirmation, “I am at peace… life continues to flow with ease and grace.”
