July Foods In Season Brought To You By: RecipeThis.com
Introduction: Welcome to our July in season Podcast here at RecipeThis.com. In July we love the beach, the waterpark, more beach days and more waterpark days. It averages 40 degrees and sometimes 45 degrees in the summer so any way that we can have some refreshing swimming time then we will. For cooking we try to avoid it. We prefer things that are quick that use the Airfryer, with lots of salads, stir frys and refreshing desserts being the order of the day. Just yesterday we had a chickpea vegan curry for dinner. It was all cooked in one quick pot on the hob and it was so nice for it to be made so fast without overheating the kitchen. Then for breakfast it is mainly juice drinks. Think juice diet drinks. Just because its so hot we can’t be bothered to cook something so a nice vegetable based juice is so much better for us. Then for lunch it tends to be a salad. And that is our July days. The only exception is beach days or pool days when we either eat from the cafÊ or we take a homemade picnic. And that is our July in the Milner household!
July Foods In Season
I am sure what you really want to know is what the main foods in season are right now. What foods are rocking the market right now and what should you be buying in bulk and then freezing for later. Of course we are probably slightly ahead in seasons than in some countries with us having such a hot summer. We eat a lot of avocados and sweet potatoes at this time of year as well as the biggest amount of cherries you have ever seen. Foods In Season #1 – Strawberries
My biggest memory of summer is always the excessive amount of fresh strawberries that I end up consuming. I spent summer 2014 and summer 2016 pregnant and I remember getting through 5 kilos of strawberries with each pregnancy. Now not pregnant by darlings are joining me in a strawberry binge! Strawberry Recipe Suggestions

I think celery is one of those foods that had a bad reputation. I put this down to the fact that it is a negative calorie food. This means that there is more effort in chewing it than the calories in the product itself. But jokes aside it is a delicious food and goes so well in summer salads, stocks and smoothies. Celery Recipe Suggestions Starting off with my healthy celery soup. Its super low in calories and perfect if you want to lose weight this summer. I also like it chilled as a smoothie too. After this I would also suggest:  Turkey Wild Rice Soup  Whole 30 Beef Pot Roast

Slimming World Raspberry Yoghurt Ice Cream Pots Welcome to our latest Slimming World recipe and this is a delicious refreshing summer Raspberry Yoghurt Ice Cream Pots. Made for my 2.5 year old and perfect for your kids or yourself and lower in calorie than most summer desserts.
Author: RecipeThis.com Serves: 4 Preparation time: 5 Minutes
Ingredients:
Blender Hand Mixer 250g Fresh Raspberries 400g Greek Yoghurt 150g Soft Cheese 1Tbsp Caster Sugar 1Tbsp Stevia ½ Tsp Vanilla Essence
Method:
1. In a blender add to it 50g of the raspberries along with the stevia and blend until smooth and put to one side. 2. In a mixing bowl add the soft cheese, caster sugar, Greek yoghurt and the vanilla essence and using a hand mixer, mix until light and creamy. 3. In plastic (or glass) sundae containers, spoon in the yoghurt mixture and the raspberry mixture, taking it in turns and making it look pretty. 4. Freeze it for 4 hours and then serve with fresh raspberries on top.
Notes: A plan B that I like is to put it into lolly moulds and then you have delicious summer lollies for the kids. You can also have this as a trifle layer instead of freezing it. It also comes out as really pretty ice cream chunks if you freeze it in cupcake cases. From a Slimming World point of view, it is just 3 Syns for all four pots for the sugar and then ¼ of a healthy extra A for the soft cheese.
That’s A Wrap Thanks for listening to our Podcast and don’t forget how easy it is to transform your dinner plate to include lots of seasonal produce. It is a great way to get excited about what is in season and to vary what you eat for dinner and to get your kids excited about fresh local food.
