Dates in March
A blossoming wisteria climbing up an ancient wall… with the most famous waterway in the world, the Grand Canal, in the background. We are on the panoramic terrace at Ca’Venier dei Leoni, the prestigious dwelling which belonged to the newyorker patroness Peggy Guggenheim, today a precious treasure-chest for her collection and a testimonial of the great love this woman felt for art and for a city she chose as her adoptive one. Three topics then. Spring, announced by the scent and colours of its flowers; a strong woman who managed to leave her mark on a span of history through her passion; Venice, a unique city, worldwide. Three images we wish to see as being female, three precious symbols for this issue in March, which we ideally wish to dedicate to all women on their most significant day, celebrated in Italy for the first time a good sixty years ago, on 8 March in 1946.
