It took four years for The Lumineers to follow up their platinumplus, multi-Grammy-nominated, self-titled debut -- which spent 46 weeks on the Billboard 200 and peaked at #2 -- but “Cleopatra” is well worth the wait. After exploding onto the scene with their monster single, “Ho Hey” and its follow-up, “Stubborn Love,” The Lumineers spent a solid three years touring six of the seven continents. During that time, The Lumineers earned a pair of Grammy nominations (Best New Artist, Best Americana Album), contributed two songs to The Hunger Games franchise, notably “The Hanging Tree,” and sold three million albums worldwide.

At the age of 16, Jonny Lang found incredible success with the release of his major label debut album “Lie To Me.” Fame does not seem to have impacted him from being the same country farm boy from Fargo, ND who got his start in the local clubs of Minneapolis. He has a keen sense of what he aims to achieve creatively, what music means to him, and is focused on the impact that his songs bring to the lives of those that encounter his repertoire. With the release of is his latest album “Fight For My Soul,” Lang is entering a chapter wherein he has found his true voice. He offers, “Much of what I’ve experienced through music and life in general is in these songs. I really like reaching out and connecting with people. For me, this is what it’s all about. It keeps it fresh with different experiences every day.”

When four young men, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork, and the late Davy Jones, were cast in the TV roles of a struggling rock band, few could have predicted the impact The Monkees would make on music pop culture — an impact that still reverberates now. Their first single, “Last Train to Clarksville,” was released in 1966, followed by “I’m A Believer,” “Steppin’ Stone,” ”Words,” “Daydream Believer,” “Vallerie,” and other hits, all making their way into the Billboard Top 40. Now, Dolenz and Tork carry on with a full evening of all The Monkees hit music and multi-media splendor, including clips from their Emmy Award winning TV series, acoustic sets, and solos.

Tears for Fears’ most recent studio album, 2004’s critically acclaimed “Everybody Loves A Happy Ending,” signaled a welcome return and reunion of one of the most loved bands of the post-MTV age. TFF bandmembers Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith leaped into the pop music spotlight with their 1983 debut album “The Hurting.” The next album “Songs From The Big Chair” was an international sensation, boasting three Top 5 singles in 1985 and catapulting the pair into superstardom. Tears for Fears continues to sell out shows all over the world, and Orzabal and Smith maintain their status as one of pop music’s more productive musical collaborations.

BEN HARPER & THE INNOCENT CRIMINALS It had been seven years since Ben Harper last played a show with the Innocent Criminals, so when the time came to reunite for a live tour in 2015, the band quickly discovered that Harper had more in mind than simply revisiting the group’s prodigious collection of hits. In fact, Harper had been quietly amassing material for a new record, “Call It What It Is.” The result is perhaps the proudest accomplishment of Harper’s prodigious career. “The time we took with this record has let me look it straight in the eyes and say that I gave everything I could to it and that it’s exactly the way we intended it to be. To be able to say that we’ve left no stone unturned just feels great.”

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros is a 10-piece musical ensemble founded in 2007. Considered pioneers of the folkpop revival, the band’s self-produced albums have experienced popular success, plus one platinum song, “Home.” The band’s live shows, often likened to “a religious experience,” have seen them celebrated by fans and critics alike. Since its founding, the band has undergone several iterations. The shift is tangible in “Person A,” the band’s fourth studio album. Recording the music almost entirely in one room together in New Orleans, this album marks the first time that the band has jointly collaborated on a majority of the songwriting.

In 1980, OMD released its self-titled debut album, with second album “Organisation” appearing in the same year, featuring the U.K. Top 10 single “Enola Gay.” “If You Leave,” taken from the Pretty in Pink movie soundtrack, was their biggest American hit single, climbing to #4 in 1986. OMD has sold over 40 million records and has influenced many modern acts. In 1983 Howard Jones burst upon the contemporary music scene with his songwriting, pioneering synthesizers, and thought-provoking lyrics. Along with his first hit single “New Song,” his first two albums brought Jones a host of hits including, “Things Can Only Get Better,” “What is Love?,” “Hide And Seek,” and “No One Is To Blame.” Jones has sold over 18 million albums globally and his synthesizer-driven debut influenced a new generation of electronic and dance musicians.

Whether his crowd is a dozen or a thousand, J.J. Grey remains an unfettered, blissful performer, singing like a bluecollar angel over the bone-deep grooves of his compositions. On stage, Grey delivers his songs with righteousness and anger and compassion all at once, but perhaps not until his latest “Ol’ Glory,” has a studio record captured the fierceness and intimacy that defines a Grey live performance. On the new album, Grey and his band Mofro offer grace and groove in equal measure, with an easygoing quality to the production that makes those beautiful muscular drum-breaks sound as though the band has set up in your living room.

That’s a good description about seeing these rock icons in concert, an experience filled with the kind of energy, precision, and outright celebration among its fans that is a tribute to Barenaked Ladies’ remarkable three decades of longevity. “We appreciate what we do more than ever,” explains Robertson. “We’re not looking for external validation. We enjoy working together and we’re doing some of the best shows of our entire career.”
Over the course of his acclaimed career, Josh Ritter has released seven full-length albums, including 2013’s “The Beast In Its Tracks,” which debuted at #22 on the Billboard 200 and #8 on the Top Rock Albums chart. This year Ritter sets out on an extensive U.S. tour in support of his latest album, “Sermon On The Rocks.” He recently released the official music video for his new song “Homecoming,” featuring thousands of hometown images submitted directly to Ritter by his fans. “Sermon On The Rocks” has received widespread critical praise and was named one of PopMatters’ “80 Best Albums of 2015” and Paste Magazine naming “Birds of the Meadow” in their “50 Best Songs of 2015” list.

SUNDAY · JULY 31 · 7PM
Anyone who gravitated towards Gary Clark Jr.’s, 2011 “Bright Lights” EP, heard both the evolution of rock’n roll and a savior of blues. The following year’s full-length debut, “Blak And Blu,” illuminated Clark’s vast musical spectrum. 2014’s “Gary Clark Jr.–Live” projected him into 3D — songs soared and drifted from psychedelic-blues to anthemic hip-hop, and all the way down to deep, dark, muddy blues. Now Clark has spread his musical wings even wider. “The Story of Sonny Boy Slim” accomplishes what his previous albums haven’t, spotlighting Gary Clark Jr., the artist first, — as producer, singer-songwriter — and string master second.

Few would have guessed that “Weird Al” Yankovic — a shy, accordion-playing teenager who got his start sending homemade tapes into the Dr. Demento Radio Show — would become the biggest-selling comedy recording artist in history and pop culture icon. Now in his fourth decade as the world’s foremost musical satirist, he has been honored with four Grammys, most recently in 2015 for “Mandatory Fun,” the first comedy album to debut at #1 on the Billboard charts, capping a career’s worth of accolades for classic song and music video parodies such as “Eat It,” “Like a Surgeon,” “Smells Like Nirvana,” “Amish Paradise,” “White & Nerdy” and “Tacky.”

The Avett Brothers genesis began in 2000 and over the next several years they toured extensively and released five albums. In 2009 they were signed by American Recordings, and since then, have achieved more commercial success starting with their label debut “I And Love And You.” The second, 2012’s “The Carpenter” peaked at #4 on the Billboard Chart and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best American Album in 2013. The Avett Brothers third album, the rootsy “Magpie and the Dandelion” reached #5 on the Billboard 200 during its first week, and their recently released album, “True Sadness,” continues in that upward trajectory.
THE RETURN OF THE MANDATORY WORLD TOUR
Revered rockers from east Los Angeles, Los Lobos, joins the tour with a wealth of experience, excitement and soul. After celebrating their 40th anniversary with the 2013 live album “Disconnected In New York City,” the hard working, constantly touring band have leapt headfirst into their fifth decade with the September 2015 release of “Gates of Gold.” The North Mississippi Allstars, crowned “Americana music luminaries” by NPR, are Grammy-nominated Southern blues and roots rock masters, composed of Luther and Cody Dickinson, sons of Memphis legendary producer and artist Jim Dickinson. Their most recent record, 2013’s “World Boogie Is Coming,” infuses their Mississippi roots with powerful rock’n roll.

The members of Lake Street Dive — named after an avenue of seedy bars in Minneapolis — met in 2004 as students at Boston’s New England Conservatory of Music. They were all studying jazz, but their work together took on a different shape, informed by their love of 1960’s music such as the Beatles, the Supremes, and Dusty Springfield. In 2012, they became a full-time combo after a YouTube video of the quartet acoustically performing the Jackson Five’s “I Want You Back” went viral.
