LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT
When people ask me what I do, I am proud to say I work for the second largest manufacturer of coal and copper slag roofing granules and abrasive blasting media in North America. Over the years, U.S. Minerals has built an impressive network of plants and distributors, while also establishing a reputation for outstanding customer service. From our founding in 2002 through the acquisition of the slag assets division of Fairmount Minerals, to our expansion through the acquisition of ATI Black Diamond Granules, Inc., to our processing agreement for copper slag in Anaconda, Montana, to most recently the construction of our own plants in Roberts, Wisconsin, and LaCygne, Kansas — our growth has been strategic, intentional, and customer centric. To stay competitive in the marketplace and continue our growth, we are rallying behind the belief that we must continue to improve in every aspect of our business each and every day. We are committed to being the best in our industry at understanding our customers’ needs and wants, and the most creative at satisfying both. This commitment would not be possible without our outstanding associates, who live out our customer promise; our distributors and partners, who expand our reach and help us deliver the best quality products; and our loyal customers, who challenge and inspire us to serve them better. We are fully equipped to continue our growth as an industry leader. I hope you will join me in learning more about the U.S. Minerals brand, our vision, and our commitment to excellence. Sincerely,
Michael Johnston

WHO WE ARE
N TY T K
U.S. Minerals is the most trustworthy and accessible slag product resource for the roofing and abrasives industries. More than supplying a product you can rely on, our tradition is to deliver outstanding customer care.
7
WHAT WE DO
We produce the most consistent, high-quality slag products for the roofing and abrasives industries. Our commitment to provide solutions is supported by our quality assurance, customer service when you need it, and a robust network of plants around the United States.
ROOFING GRANULES We empower roofing manufacturers to produce the highest-quality products for commercial and residential properties. Our coal and iron silicate slag for roofing products deliver the consistent performance that the industry demands: uniform weights, application-specific granule types and sizes, and timely delivery capability.
MINERAL FILLERS Occasionally, materials call for reinforcements. Our high-quality, inert, heat-resistant filler is used as an additive complement to create more mass in cement, glass, asphalt, brick, and everything in between.
BLACK DIAMOND ABRASIVE PRODUCTS We are an industry leader in repurposing coal, iron, and specialty slag products. Our Black Diamond abrasive products encompass a generous variety of grades and materials, so even a unique application can pair perfectly with one of our blasting media.

THE STORY BEHIND THE LOGOS THE ANATOMY OF U.S. MINERALS HOUSE ICON
LOGO TYPE (COMPANY NAME)
FULL COLOR LOGO
The House The U.S. Minerals logo represents structure, reliability, and care. The yellow bars form a house which provides a sense of trust and security by holding the “U.S.” inside. Roofing and abrasives customers can connect with the literal meaning — roofing a commercial or residential building or blasting a steel structure clean. The Colors The colors represent craftsmanship and were chosen to be warm and welcoming. The Font The font is a classic, industrial typeface, and you can find similar fonts on well-known farming and construction equipment brands.
THE ANATOMY OF BLACK DIAMOND The Diamond The Black Diamond logo was built to be powerful, courageous, and resilient, while also complementing the U.S. Minerals logo. The abstract diamond has the same angles and spacing as the U.S. Minerals house icon.
