PAST | PRESENT | FUTURE In early 1975, a friend who worked in the electronics industry introduced me to Mel Zucker and George Tomin. At the time, we each lived in a different part of the country: Mel in New Jersey, George in Illinois and myself in New York. We came together in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to found an electronic distribution company, selling primarily wire and cable. This company was the first form of KSM Electronics. In 1983, we formed a partnership with John Steele and Len Partyka. John and Len were executives in the wire cable manufacturing industry, and their seasoned experience enabled us to open KSM Electronics Midwest. Over time, shifts in the economy and the evolution of the industry altered our customers’ needs. Customers, who previously purchased cables and connectors to assemble in-house, began outsourcing their assembly builds. This shift in customer need forever altered our business model. We began adding notable product lines, starting with basic assemblies and growing to include complex box builds and more. Today, KSM Electronics is a global contract manufacturer of custom cables, wire harness assemblies, electromechanical and box builds. We work with world-class companies to bring products such as the latest GPS, cockpit alert systems and medical technologies to market. We now operate full-service manufacturing plants in Florida, Illinois, and Mexico, and we have established a strategic alliance with manufacturers in China. I am thankful to each of our employees for enabling KSM for past and future growth. And, I am thankful that every member of the KSM team truly lives by our commitment to quality, our customer approved adaptability and our employee training standards. In preparation for the future, we will continue to seek more certifications to better serve their business needs. And, as our customers grow we will grow with them. We will also do our best to prepare for the ever-shifting economy, technological advancements and varying customer drivers.

OUR BRAND STORY Connecting Ideas to Solutions The KSM tagline pays homage to the foundation of our core business: the literal action of connecting cable and wire harness assemblies, as well as the intangible engineered solutions we provide. “Connecting Ideas to Solutions ultimately expresses the benefit our customers receive when working with us. No matter what industry they are in, KSM can physically and figuratively connect their ideas to solutions.
ENGINEERING SERVICES TURNING GREAT IDEAS INTO EVEN BETTER PRODUCTS By positioning ourselves during the early stages of product development, we can turn great ideas into even better products. Our engineers guide material and component selections that can be sourced for any size project or level of complexity. Pair this with clear insight into the “how of assembly, and the result is improved efficiency, reduced costs and shortened lead times.
Our engineering services include: Research and Development CAD Design Prototyping Reverse Engineering 3D Printing
MANUFACTURING SERVICES CUSTOMER-DRIVEN SINCE OUR BEGINNING We understand that every project is unique, which is why we design, develop and manufacture each custom part to align with our customers’ requirements. Whether it’s a hard-to-find connector or an intricate assembly, KSM has got it covered.
CABLE AND WIRE HARNESS ASSEMBLIES
ELECTROMECHANICAL / BOX BUILDS
We were founded on cable and wire. This makes us the unbeatable resource when it comes to sourcing and fabrication possibilities for cable and wire harness assemblies. From prototype through production, we keep our customers connected and competitive.
We help customers execute by first building cable or wire harness assemblies and then connecting them to PC boards or other equipment. Our electromechanical and box builds reduce overhead costs and simplify the purchasing process.
CUSTOM OVERMOLDING AND POTTING
ULTRASONIC METAL WELDING
We have two-shot, two-color and two-material overmolding capabilities. We custom overmold wire terminations to ensure pull strength, to act as a protectant moisture seal, and for an overall cleaner-looking connection. We also offer potting services as a cost-effective alternative to injection molding.
We are equipped with ultrasonic metal welding equipment, which offers an alternative to soldering. Ultrasonic metal welds are resistant to high temperature and vibration, making it ideal for applications where these factors can affect the integrity of the finished assembly.
VALUE-ADDED SERVICES MANUFACTURE SMARTER We are determined to manufacture smarter to minimize cost and maximize return. Standing by this commitment, we have built value-added benefits right into our process to shorten the supply chain and simplify the manufacturing process.
Our value-added services include: Automated Cutting Kitting Tubing Wire Processing Stripping and Terminating Labeling and Printing Twisting
WHY WE ARE BETTER KSM GOES GLOBAL KSM’s services extend beyond domestic borders. Our multi-location advantage makes KSM the ideal fit for both short-run, complex projects, as well as high-volume programs. Between our Florida, Illinois, and Mexico locations and our long-standing relationships with plants in China, we can service companies across the globe.
COMMITTED TO QUALITY With nearly 20 certifications, including ISO 9001, plus lean manufacturing protocols and stringent quality control, the KSM process becomes our customer’s success.
VENDOR MANAGED INVENTORY (VMI) KSM offers VMI for every product we distribute or produce. Customers using us for VMI benefit from increased processing and ordering speeds, and enjoy volume pricing advantages without increased inventory. Partnering with KSM allows businesses to better focus on their customers.
EMPLOYEE TRAINING STANDARDS Our highly experienced and educated staff provide certified in-house training for all employees. We require a minimum of class II and class III training for all production personnel, in conjunction with continuous internal and external training.
CUSTOMER APPROVED ADAPTABILITY Our adaptability, subject matter expertise, and buying power allow us to build nearly any product. We also have the labor capacity to operate three shifts on 24-hour cycles to meet accelerated delivery schedules. At the end of the day, we’re in the service business, and we show it.
