assembly at Greater Union on Friday saw many tears, emotional farewells, and heartfelt messages of thanks and well wishes to the cohorts below them. They have flown the Reddam flag high and we are very proud of them. A few happy snaps pages 4 and 5.

As the Year 12 students move into their final week of school, we have received more great news with regards to Drama OnStage Nominations. Congratulations to the following HSC Drama Students: Harper Pollard, Daniel Steinberg, Asher Emdur, Oliver Sen, and Gabriel Jones whose individual performances were nominated for possible inclusion in the 2022 HSC Showcase of OnStage. This is an outstanding result as OnStage is a showing of exemplary works of NSW students. Both Mr. Hodgson and Mr. Montgomery are very proud of the student's efforts.

I would like to congratulate and thank the Year 12 Class for the dignified and respectful manner in which they approached their “muck up” week. They dressed up with themes from pyjamas to Hawaiian and had a lot of good clean fun while receiving their final feedback from their

IN THIS ISSUE: • Good Luck Year 12 • Year 10 Drama • Reddam Idol • Nepal Fundraiser • Music, Sport, Careers Plus more...

Our 20 Year 9 Year 11 students will be working together with the Mother Child Art Foundation to help a rural community of female farmers within the school of their children. The school was devastated by the earthquake of 2015. Mel Pelosi and our twenty students have been working hard for months to raise $15 000 which will all go towards this rural community school. Please see some images of the fun on page 6.

The students involved in the radio show “The Crumble” continue this week to refine their skills and record content. It is hoped that they will produce six episodes this year and six next year. The airing of their first show on Eastside Radio 89.7 has been pushed back a week or so as they make final edits. I’m sure that Jasmine Cohen, who heads up the marketing, will keep us all up to date.

So this week we also welcome the new Year 12 Class of 2023. The new year cohort of Year 12 Music students attended a concert At the Opera House on Thursday to kick off their HSC Music year. The program of symphonic pieces performed by the SSO featured works by Debussy, Copeland, and Vaughan Williams. The students enjoyed the experience to hear the orchestra perform live, commenting that it really brought the music to life and was so different to hearing the recordings of the same pieces they’d heard in class. Being able to appreciate aspects of music from different genres is something that enriches our lives so much, regardless of whether you’re a musician or not. We are so lucky to live in a city where we can spend an afternoon in such a world class venue with a world

Adelaide Hall was filled on Monday evening with supporters and students eager to hear our Reddam Idol finalists and find out who would be recognised as this year's Idol. Our adjudicator was former Reddam House teacher and renowned performer and composer Laura Murphy, who

class orchestra.

On Wednesday morning, Bondi Singers farewelled their Year 12 members and thanked them for their years of school service and fine music-making in choir with some singing and breakfast. The students will miss their voices, and wish them all the best.

A parent’s email the following day summed the evening up, “Our family was struck by the very high calibre of student talent across all age groups, especially remarkable given that Reddam is not a performing arts school (anyone attending last night would have assumed it is). The students not only sang well and were a pleasure to listen to - but they also performed very well under the pressure of the spotlight. Kudos to each and every one of them.” More images pages 10 and 11.

awarded the Gold medal to Natasha Green (Year 7 9) and Lucy Klein (Year 10 12), who sang The Winner Takes it All and No Diggity, respectively. The Audience Choice Award was the highlight of the evening, with supporters voting on their devices, and the Gold medals in this category went to the same performers. Thank you to Maya Bienstock for hosting the event and all of the music events and competitions this year, and to Year 9 Judiciary member Rocco Taylor also for his hosting. Also involved were William MacCormick, Ruby Sher, and Georgie Davis from the Year 9 Creative Portfolio who assisted brilliantly backstage. Congratulations to all the finalists who performed on the evening.

The Year 9 Junior Executive members have run activities all week on the basketball court, raising funds for the Reddam International Community Service Project to Nepal, which takes place in the coming school holiday. These activities will continue through next week as well.
