Dear Parents and Caregivers, A collective sigh of relief combined with joyous rapture was the reaction of Year 12 teachers and students as the HSC Examinations for 2022 came to a close yesterday. It was a busy final week of examinations with Chemistry written on Monday, Economics and Modern Hebrew on Tuesday, PDHPE, and SDD on Wednesday, and the final two on Thursday being Physics and Dance. Congratulations to all our Year 12 students and their teachers on their hard work and collaboration to get to this point. There is an air of confidence in the anticipation of their results and ATARs being released on 15th December. We all look forward to their Formal on Monday night which will wrap up their HSC year with the appropriate celebrations. The Love Bites Program was attended by all Year 10 students on Monday. The goal of this program is to promote healthy respectful relationships by increasing awareness by giving students an understanding of relationship violence as well as sexual assault, and hopefully challenge some beliefs, atti-tudes and myths that perpetuate abuse and unhealthy relationships.

The aim was to give students some strategies to: • avoid issues in their own relationships • help them support their friends in their relationships • highlight the fact that they can make CHOICES around their behaviours in relationships • understand consent This important part of our pastoral care program was informative, exceptionally beneficial and well received by our students. On Tuesday evening the Spring Recital was held in Adelaide Hall. Hosted by newly elected Judiciary member, Zoe Topper, Year 9 Judiciary member, Marlena Pasvolsky, and Year 6 Senator Santiago Smart, this concert was all about collaboration and music students working together in their music making. So far this year, we’ve held our Welcome Recital, Instrumental Competition Finals, Vocal Competition Finals, and Reddam Idol, this was the final concert of the year. The evening was the perfect opportunity to unveil the Hall’s new grand piano which just added that bit extra to the evening.
With 130 students performing on the night in duets, jazz bands, the string orchestra, and the various choirs, the audience was treated to such a range of beautiful

music and inspiring performances on this magical evening of music. My thanks and congratulations to all involved. Images pages 6 and 7. This week our Year 7 and 8 Drama students have been presenting their Yearly Playbuilt performances, showcasing their acting skills with creative tales of imaginative situations. Mr Kermonde and Mr Montgomery are proud of their students’ achievements and the effort many have gone to to entertain and engage their audiences. Well done Year 7 and Year 8 students. On Thursday night, the 5 Year reunion of the HSC Class of 2017 was held at the Bondi Campus. It was such a wonderful evening of nostalgia, shared memories, and catching up on the paths that life has taken this cohort since leaving school. The joy at seeing each other and their teachers again made for a fun evening. The 60 students who arrived had a great evening and were the largest reunion group that the school has hosted to date. Have a great weekend and week ahead, Dave Pitcairn

MUSIC NEWS Spring Recital Our final music evening of the year was held this week, and over 130 students performed to a packed Adelaide Hall and very appreciative audience. The evening featured outstanding work from the Reddam House Concert Band, High School Jazz Band, Bondi Singers, String Orchestra, in addition to a wonderful vocal trio, Baroque vocal duet, piano duets, guitar and vocal duet, and so much more. It was a joy to watch students collaborate musically in so many varied styles and to such a high standard. Thank you to all of the students who performed, to their families and friends for supporting them, and to all of the music staff involved in making the evening such a success. House Music Choir Spectaculars This week saw the culmination of years of hard work when the Middle School students performed in their houses in the Spectaculars section of the House Music challenge! The points will be added to the points received in the Bands round, and the overall House Music winner announced.
