Dear Parents and Caregivers,
What a week for all Australian soccer fans with the Socceroos bouncing back from their loss to France beating both Tunisia and Denmark to make the World Cup Round of 16 for only the second time in our nation's history. I for one will be up on Sunday morning at 6:00 am to watch the knock out game againsT Argentina. We dare to dream.
While this week has seen the Senior Campus students still completing their examinations, the Middle School has been back to normal with many activities rounding off the term.
The Annual Reddam Public Speaking Competition was held again following a two year hiatus and it was so fantastic to gather together with parents to hear the quality of the speeches presented by our students. tions to Mrs Karney for creating the environment where students have the confidence to express opinions and explore their unique styles of communicating creative ideas. More images on page 3.
Congratulations to the winners of each section:
Year 7 runner up: Jamie Bloom
Year 7 winner: Sylvie Pasvolsky
Year 8 runner up: Sam Dubossarsky
Year 8 winner: Jethro Jensen
Year 9 runner up: Bianca Peer
Year 9 winner: Marlena Pasvolsky
Year 9 students move to the Bondi Campus next year and Wednesday night’s farewell from the Middle School was a bittersweet moment for all of them. They are so ready to move on but have enjoyed a great year as the leaders of the Woollahra Campus and are a little sad for that to end. The evening was organised under the watchful eye of Mrs Pelosi and Ms. Morgan with Archie Diamond and the Events Portfolio together with the Judiciary members doing the heavy lifting. A perfect evening was enjoyed on the rooftop with parents joining in for the last half hour.
The year 9 French students had an end of year lunch on Thursday in a small French restaurant in Potts Point called Rustic French Bistro, where they were able to put their French language skills into practice. Students could choose from an entree and a main or a main course and dessert from a typical French menu. Photos page 13.

concept, advertised, and marketed their products to the school in the leadup. Each of the seventeen teams were given $150 seed funding and the eventual outcome was a fantastic day of fun and learning of the trials, tribulations and euphoria of running a small business. What a worthwhile day which the rest of the school also enjoyed buying their wares during recess and lunch break.
Student achievements and initiatives this week include:
Joseph and Sophia Glasson travelled to Adelaide for The Australian National Fencing Championships, the most important domestic competition of the year.
Joseph was crowned as National Champion in individual Men’s foil category at the age of 16. He has also finished the year as No.1 in Senior, Junior, and Cadet categories. Amazing achievement Joseph, inspirational.
Sophia took home two Championship medals: Silver in Women’s foil team and bronze in Women’s foil individual and remains the No.1 ranked fencer in Junior and Cadet categories.
What a strong way to finish 2022 for the Glasson siblings.
Tali Ereira is again chopping her hair off for kids with cancer to ensure a child receives a wig. She is also trying to raise $6k to enable an additional wig to be gifted to a child with cancer.
She’s raised $4687 so far and her big chop is on Saturday! I am sharing her link with the Reddam community to help her reach her target.

Good luck Tali, what a wonderfully selfless gesture and one which epitomises our school motto of “we shall give back”
Have a great weekend and final few days of the school year next week.
