Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Well done to all students on the completion of another school year.
This week has seen the feedback for the Year 12 students following the first assessment period of their final year. Year 10 students have been busy doing their NESA HSC Minimum Standards Tests in numeracy, writing and reading. These tests are compulsory and need to be passed in order to be awarded a High School Certificate, so we believe in getting those done and dusted prior to ed the Bondi Campus for a High School Orientation on Monday where they were introduced to life as a Year 10 student at the Senior Campus. Year 7 students attended Taronga Zoo where their experience enhanced what they classification of animals, the adaptations they have that allow them to live in their specific ecosystem, and where The Year 8 visit to Luna Park was given a distinct mathematical flavour as they had to put their skills learned this year to the test to
Congratulations to Izzy Lowe and her team of journalists, all Year 10 students at the moment, for the effort that you have put into this newspaper.
Tuesday’s Prize Giving Ceremonies at Paddington Town Hall was a chance to congratulate and honour all the students for their Sports, Cultural, and Academic excellence. Congratulations to all the recipients of Honours, the highest award for excellence at Reddam. This can be awarded for three sets of Full Colours in Sports, Cultural, or Academics. Academically for receiving an SCI of over 93%, or the equivalent of national representation in any discipline.
The last edition of the Stag for 2022 was distributed to all students on Monday. Here is the link for those parents interested in the goings on from the student’s perspective.

On Sunday afternoon the Founding HSC Class of 2002 met for their 20 Year reunion at the Sheaf. It was wonderful to hear the stories of the first years of Reddam and what life was like in those early days for students from the twenty that attended. A number of their teachers from that era were there to really make the day one of nostalgia and shared memories. Stacey Muscat, Warren Garratt, and Avril Liebman joined Dee and me in informing them of what Reddam is like 20 years on. What was heartening was that a number of them have their children at the school currently with many others wanting to get their children into the school. It is really significant when the second generation of Reddam students start progressing through the school. What a thoroughly lovely afternoon being regaled with their stories and very happy memories of their time at school.
In Basketball news, Mr Johnson reported, last week the Reddam 1st Team girls, and under 15s boys squads attended the Australian Schools Basketball Championships on the Gold Coast. This was a weeklong tournament playing schools from all over Australia. and images can be seen on pages 6 and 7.

We look forward to the HSC results coming out next week Thursday. There will be a newsletter following these to share the successes of the Class of 2022.
The Final Year 7 Year 12 reports will be posted on the Parent Lounge by Tuesday and an email will be sent informing all parents when this happens.
We wish all Reddam families a happy, peaceful, and relaxing summer holiday. To our Jewish families, Hanukkah Sameach, to our Christian families, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year to All.

BASKETBALL - GOLD COAST TOUR
Last week the Reddam 1st V girls, and under 15s boys squads attended the Australian Schools Championships in the Gold Coast. This was a weeklong tournament playing schools from all over Australia.
The 1st V girls team had a great tournament finishing 5th with 3 wins and 3 losses. Jasmine Rintoul gained MVP for the tour, finishing 2nd on the leader board for points per game (15.8). This was a great tournament for the girls as they will be playing in the division one competition at Comets next year. The girls will also be attending the CDSSA open gala day which they finished second in this year.
The Under 15s boys’ squad had high expectations for themselves after winning the CDSSA tournament this year. For the boys second game they played a very strong Avondale team, losing in over time by two points. Not letting this bring them down, the boys bounced back and won the remainder of their games, growing as a team in each match. We played Avondale in the grand final, winning 91 71. 6 wins 1 loss. MVP for the finals was Cody Dallimore who scored 43 points (a career high) in the final! Honourable mention to Edan Zahra who drained 11 three pointers in the tournament. The future is bright for this team.
Many thanks to all the Reddam Basketball community for an amazing year of basketball. The growth and quality of players has been shown by the results and number of teams moving up divisions. Bring on 2023!
