Redeye Mobile Plan
Redeye Mobile Plan
The goal of this plan is to assist labels in having the most comprehensive plan in place for maximizing total sales of their 2010 release schedule. Adding mobile elements to the marketing mix can add additional revenue and increased exposure for the release. This plan utilizes both carrier specific and direct to consumer options. There are 300 million more music capable phones in the marketplace than there are iPods, so it would be a shame not to make a push to the mobile music market.
Redeye Mobile Plan CARRIER SPECIFIC Redeye will provide full track over-the air-downloads and all mobile content (ringtones, ringbacks, wallpapers, videos, etc.) to major United States and Canadian carriers, including: • • • • • • • • • • •
Verizon Wireless AT&T Wireless Sprint/Nextel T-Mobile Virgin Boost Mobile Motricity (BET/Cricket/Leap/Tracfone) Ericsson Mobility Rogers Wireless Bell Mobility Telus Mobility
Redeye Mobile Plan Nokia Our relationship with Nokia will provide full track overthe-air downloads and all mobile content (ringtones, ringbacks, wallpapers, videos, etc.) to Nokia customers, including their innovative “Comes with Music” and download stores in eight countries. “Comes with Music” is an unlimited music subscription plan that is purchased at the time the phone is purchased. US rollout will start in June.
Redeye Mobile Plan Some marketing options may include: • •
Carrier exclusivity (ie. “Label” is available exclusively on AT&T) Full length offer to Verizon BEFORE it hits iTunes (Verizon/Rhapsody love that) • Launch content on the exact date of the album launch (or prior too to boost sales) • Virgin Mobile Headliner Program Once we’re signed on for the mobile marketing and sales, we’ll start building a more specific plan that will set the record up with as many carriers and portals as possible. Below are a few more partners (both on-deck and off-deck) that we’ll be using as part of the campaign.
Redeye Mobile Plan
DIRECT-TO-CONSUMER/OFF-DECK PORTALS Redeye has relationships with several direct to consumer mobile content providers, including MonsterTones, Rocket Mobile, xRinger, Thumbplay, Playphone, and Handmark. We have highlighted our three most important below. These options allow fans to bypass the “on deck phone options and purchase content through web based outlets and have them direct billed.
Redeye Mobile Plan Myxer Myxer is a company that has web landing page and creates widgets that allow consumers to purchase ringtones from any web location (blog, MySpace, Facebook, etc.). A major marketing advantage of Myxer is their homepage takeover, where for a 24 hour period your label’s artists would be solely featured and have several pieces of content highlighted. PocketFuzz PocketFuzz is another company that implements widget based technology to allow consumers to purchase ringtones from any web location (blog, MySpace, Facebook, etc.). The difference between these two is that PocketFuzz has a more user friendly experience, allowing consumers to cut their own 30 second segment from an entire song.
Redeye Mobile Plan MOBILE TIMELINE (1) Label to send over all assets (entire CD/all tracks, CD images and/or artist images, information/bio on each artist including MySpace pages, etc, music and/or "behind the scene footage" video of artist, etc). (2) Generally, Redeye can format most content within one business week (2 business weeks at minimum). (3) Once Sales team has enough to send carrier and D2C partners (at minimum bio on artist, 2-3 ringtones, 1-2 graphics, 1-2 videos if applicable), the content will be pitched to carriers. In US, feedback is typically given within 1-2 weeks timeframe. (4) Once sales are approved by carrier, we begin uploading content to each partner storefront. Timing for content to go "live" and be available for retail sales can range normally 3-6 weeks.
