Oh Boy Records was founded in 1981 and is home to cornerstone recordings from John Prine, Todd Snider, Dan Reeder and more. Red Pajamas Records has been continuing the legacy of Steve Goodman since his untimely death in 1984 following a long battle with Leukemia. Our catalog demands the utmost respect for its contribution to folk and roots music. We continue to be humbled by stories detailing the effect these recordings have on their listeners, and we've made it our business to ensure our songs continue to impact future generations.

track listing: The Laugh of Recognition Sharpest Blade Rave On Soon Undamned (duet with Lucinda Williams) Infamous Love Song Only God Can Save Us Now Oh Yeah By The Way The King Knows How There’s A Bluebird In My Heart Days Like This All My Favorite People Unspoken
Since Karin Bergquist and Linford Detweiler founded Over the Rhine (shortly after completing undergraduate degrees at a small liberal arts college in Ohio) the band has quietly sold hundreds of thousands of records around the world and steadily built one of the most loyal grassroots followings in the history of recorded music. Over the Rhine’s forthcoming album, THE LONG SURRENDER, blooms with the beauty and power to swing doors wide open to a much broader audience. Produced by Grammy-award winning songwriter and producer, Joe Henry, with a world-class band of eight stellar musicians, THE LONG SURRENDER is a cinematic, soulful journey full of rewards and unexpected twists including a heart-rending, gorgeous duet with Lucinda Williams. THE LONG SURRENDER is epic yet deeply personal, the kind of record that is discovered like a long-awaited friend, and is poised to receive significant exposure via film and TV, radio airplay, robust web coverage, and more of the outstanding press that Over the Rhine has consistently garnered. “Karin Bergquist may be the finest singer in the alt-country / Americana scene right now, striking the perfect balance between earthy sensuality and ethereal grace.” — THE NEW YORK TIMES Recently voted to Paste Magazine’s list of 100 Best Living Songwriters: “There can be no adequate labels for music this dense, this conflicted, this emotionally charged. Over the Rhine creates true confessional masterpieces that know neither border no boundary.” — PASTE MAGAZINE “Karin Bergquist is a singer unparalleled in her subtle twists of emotion. Her voice has the power to stop the world in its tracks.” — PERFORMING SONGWRITER PRESS: Cary Baker, Conqueroo cary@conqueroo.com RADIO: Jennifer Daunt, Dauntless Promotion dauntless2@earthlink.net MANAGEMENT: Glen Phillips, Beat Management glen@beatmanagement.com DISTRIBUTION: Lori Miller, Redeye Distribution lori@redeyeusa.com
TOURING: Leading up to the release, the band will be touring and performing material from THE LONG SURRENDER in many major markets including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Louisville, and Cincinnati. Count on a national Over the Rhine tour in 2011, including all major markets, festival appearances etc. PRESS: Building on the critically-acclaimed press from their last release, The Trumpet Child, Cary Baker of Conqueroo will be taking the story of THE LONG SURRENDER to the press world. All major dailies, alt-weeklies, blogs, and TV and radio outlets will be serviced. RADIO: THE LONG SURRENDER will be worked to AAA radio to capitalize on the band’s history with key stations such as WFUV, WXPN, WRLT, KFOG, KGSR, and The Current. We will be soliciting exposure for the album at nationally syndicated programs such as Morning Edition, All Things Considered, World Café, e-Town, Mountain Stage, Acoustic Café and others. VIDEO: Two award-winning Ohio artist/animators are collaborating on the first video for THE LONG SURRENDER. In addition, a short documentary is also being filmed on the project. Both will begin webcasting in short installments via the band’s website and YouTube channel leading up to the album’s release.

NO EXPORTS no explicit language
Overview Conceived by Mark Clifford and Sarah Peacock in the early 90's, Seefeel immediately became groundbreaking leaders of the divergent quasi-movement known as "shoegaze", by amalgamating electronics in ways most of their peers in traditional bands would never dream of. They managed to fuse the early Acid House and techno sounds with guitar, drums and bass into urgent melodic waves that on early releases like Quique and Succour oscillated between hopefulness, introspection and downright menace.
2.1.11 WARPCD205/WARPLP205
After a 14 year hiatus, the band’s ranks now include bassist Shigeru Ishihara and former Boredoms drummer Iida Kazuhisa (aka E-Da). The immediate result of their stunning live reformation at Warp20 Paris (one in a series of Warp Records' 20th anniversary global celebrations) was the single Faults, released on 10" vinyl last September. The band’s first release since 1996’s (CH-VOX), it proved to be a clear progression for a group that had never been predictable, and was met with a resounding “welcome back” and an instant affinity with new peers such as Gang Gang Dance, HEALTH, Battles and Salem. Now comes the all new self-titled full length, as a new generation of young bands the world over look once again to building their own walls of sound, Seefeel stand ready again to play not only the inspired outsiders, but also the inspirational forerunners. With much talk of implied mysticism abound in music these days, Seefeel deals this out in sonic revelations. From the glacial “Airless” to the lumbering intensity of “Dead Guitars” and the ghostly harmonics of “Faults” each step feels of deeply personal progression. Mark Clifford, “There is a real dynamic, creative process that’s exciting. I feel the music we have made for these initial releases is just the very start and we already have a number of ideas/tracks in place for future releases that I feel push our own boundaries even further. As well as this, we are growing as a live band, adding elements of improvisation and looser structures unimaginable to us a few years back, and with continued touring I'm excited to see how we develop in that direction.”

“4.5 STARS. Occasionally side projects can be something really spectacular. There’s a sense of nostalgia, like flipping through an old photo album or late night dreams full of fleeting images. This isn’t an album where you pick favourite songs - you simply immerse yourself in the whole lush experience.” – Reverb Magazine “Kilbey’s silky evocative voice seductively narrates his suitably dreamy lyrics over Kennedy’s cooly opiated atmospheric song structures, recalling nothing so much as The Church at their most stately, subdued and grand.” - Dream Magazine

spell. His carefully constructed narratives create wordy potions mixing daydream imagery, the fleeting nature of time and stories of the ancients.
Pull back the red velvet curtain, switch on a single spotlight and allow Kilbey & Kennedy to summon up their own brand of hypnotic reverie. Following on from the success of their debut Unseen Music Unheard Words they prove their pairing is no side project but a fully fledged musical force on this, their second album together, White Magic.
As for Martin Kennedy, he is no mere sorcerer’s apprentice; Kennedy is in fact an ARIA nominee himself. His work with ambient instrumentalists, All India Radio, and as a songwriter has long been proven in his back catalogue. His dreamscapes are no simple sleight of hand – he is truly a conjurer creating lavishly orchestrated mini soundtracks – music that is soft, warm and enveloping, designed to entice, lure and hypnotise.
Steve Kilbey – recently inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame as a member of iconic Australian band, The Church – continues to prove himself to be an eternally creative artist whilst retaining his unique individuality. Here he sings in a soft, velvety undertone, all the while tempting the listener and craftily placing you under his
There is much more to White Magic than simple parlour room trickery. It is a collection of 11 songs, prayers, whispered spells and lyrical secrets, lightly brushed acoustic guitars and a bed of Lynchian drenched atmospherics that will beguile and seep inside the consciousness of any unsuspecting listener.

Everyone I Ever Met Street Date: 02/01/11 CD • COUNTCD033 • $14.99
Label: Counter Records File Under: Rock Export: No Export Box Lot: 40 CD Packaging: Digipak
Euphoric, heartfelt and utterly beautiful, Spokes present “Everyone I Ever Met,” their first album for Counter Records. Effortlessly blending together elements of shoegaze, folk, postrock and much more, its bittersweet joyfulness will purge your system of cynicism for weeks. Spokes were formed in Preston and gained exposure in 2008 with the self released EP of "People Like People Like You" whilst living in Manchester. This album was recorded in the rolling hills of North East England, which perhaps explains the rustic feel of their reverb-soaked, violin-coated sound, one that has been compared to Arcade Fire. Its collective-choral vocals typify the anti-cynical energy and passion that makes the band unique. This is an album that moves from the chamber shoegaze pop of title track “Everyone I Ever Met,” through heartfelt acoustic folk on “Sun It Never Comes,” slowly building piano balladry (“Give It Up To The Night”), spinning revellry on “Torn Up In Praise,” rural-psych in “Happy Needs Colour” and beautifully poised pop on closer “When I Was A Daisy, When I Was A Tree.”
•
Hometown - Manchester, UK.
More than anything else, what strikes you listening to Spokes is their complete sincerity, their lack of any sideways glance at what their contemporaries are doing. They make beautiful, sad, celebratory, delirious, worshipful music because that’s how they feel and, in doing so, that’s how they make you feel, too.

TERROR DANJAH - Grand Opening (Undeniable EP 1)
FORMAT - 12” LABEL - Hyperdub UPC - 5055300321688 CATALOG # - HDB045 LIST PRICE - $11.99 Three contrasting cuts from Grime Super Producer Terror Danjah’s Hyperdub debut CD ‘Undeniable’, housed in a deluxe colour jacket replicating the album's lush sleeve artwork. The first track, aptly titled ‘Grand Opening’, pits Dream Maclean’s masterful myth-making lyrics and uber-brags against portentous choral samples and jabbing bass synths. ‘Story ending’ contrasts in mood and feeling, opening with lush trance string arrangements and off-beat kicks and scattered snares laced by an R&B vocal, before the track breaks into some seriously warped synths. ‘Breaking Bad’ featuring producer Baby Face Jay is unusual for Terror’s productions, working off a cen-tral 4/4 kick allowing the striking ravey stabs, twisted fx and percussive offbeats to fill in and create the syncopations… ultimately the track comes off sounding somewhere between a rave classic and an arcade game soundtrack. This is the first in a series of four limited-edition EPs bringing ‘Undeniable’ to life on vinyl.
TERROR DANJAH — Minimal Dub (Undeniable EP 2)
FORMAT - 12” LABEL - Hyperdub UPC - 5055300321695 CATALOG # - HDB046 LIST PRICE - $11.99 The second EP taken from Terror Danjah’s Hyperdub debut CD 'Undeniable' features three different styled cuts landing for the vinyl lovers. 'Minimal Dub' starts proceedings, switching between half-time and full pelt with stop-start drums and a catchy rubber bandlike melody played out in the bass. But it's the unexpected tech breakdown in the middle, and the synth-line that appears on the drop that makes this the dancefloor slayer that it's rapidly become. ‘This Year’ is actually the ‘Pro Plus’ instrumental that came out earlier this year, but with vocals by ris-ing stars of Grime Ms Bratt and Griminal, whose aspirational rhymes here work in an energetic combi-nation that compliments the lurching melody of the instrumental perfectly. ‘I’m Feelin U’ is completely different to anything Terror’s done before, working off a soulful vocoder, Rhodes keys and G-funk melodies that play hide and seek with the constantly building and breaking down drums and bass. Number Two in a series of four limited-edition EPs bringing ‘Undeniable’ to life on vinyl. Limited pressing
TERROR DANJAH —S.O.S. (Undeniable EP 3)
FORMAT - 12” LABEL - Hyperdub UPC - 5055300321701 CATALOG # - HDB047 LIST PRICE - $11.99 The third EP taken from Terror Danjah’s ‘Undeniable’ CD kicks off with one of the big surprises of the album, the inimitable genre-traversing ‘S.O.S.’, with a simple melodic riff played out over drum pat-terns that shift up in down in rhythm and tempo, grinding to a halt in the middle of the track before starting up again. ‘Sonar (Selassi Mix)’ is a beatless mix of Terror’s classic grime riddim ‘Sonar’, where the originals rhythmic fx and melody pulse in and out of the mix creating strange smeared textures as sounds rub against each other. The album’s title track ‘Undeniable’ features D Double E of Newham Generals, doing something you’d not expect of him – being romantic over Terror’s warm, colourful chords and melodies. Number Three in a series of four limited-edition EPs bringing ‘Undeniable’ to life on vinyl. Limited pressing on phat wax.
TERROR DANJAH —Leave Me Alone (Undeniable EP 4)
FORMAT - 12” LABEL - Hyperdub UPC - 5055300311344 CATALOG # - HDB048 LIST PRICE - CD: $11.99 The fourth and final EP taken from Terror Danjah’s ‘Undeniable’ CD opens with the amazing ‘Leave Me Alone’ featuring Terror’s old vocal spar Bruza. This time it’s different though - instead of his usual cock-ney mateyness, Bruza’s reflecting on his bad mood. ‘All I Wanna Do’ is the album’s densest track, featuring East End singer / songwriter Lauren Mason, who complements Terror’s moody music with a forlorn and angry vocal about a break-up, Terror editing her lines into strange rhythmic shapes which rub against the subtle trap-doors and fills of his accompa-niment. ‘ Time To Let Go’ is light and breezy in comparison. With light Rhodes keys and a vocal from Terror him-self , this is a house track in disguise, as the constant shifting patterns of the drums work against the flow of the melodic elements to produce something that is simultaneously recognisable as a both genre track and a Terror Danjah trademark tune. Number Four in a series of four limitededition EPs bringing ‘Undeniable’ to life on vinyl. Limited pressing on phat wax.

Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O. is a legendary Japanese psychedelic band founded in 1995 by members of the Acid Mothers Temple soul-collective and have a reputation for phenomenal live shows and releasing frequent albums on a number of international record labels. Stearica lives a rare story for an Italian band, made of international collaborations with artists like Dälek (Ipecac), Nick Storring (Damo Suzuki network, Picastro) & many more. In October 2009 another international accomplishment came when THE WIRE chose "Occhio" as the first track of the 22nd volume of the THE WIRE TAPPER series. This record is a picture which was shot on the 32th day of AMT and Stearica European tour 2008. The day after the seven of us would have gone back home. But before that we wanted to leave a mark by fixing our experience on tour, so we put some microphones in a room of an old farmhouse and we played just for us and for out friend Koppa who drove thousands of miles and was just going to prepare a special dinner for us before saying goodbye to everyone. On that november we became friends and we invaded a piece of each other stories. This record is the account of our story.“
BLOOD COMMAND —Ghostclocks
FORMAT - CD LABEL - Fysisk Format UPC - 7071245011406 CATALOG # - FY023CD LIST PRICE - $17.99 For Fans Of: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Pretty Girls Make Graves, One of Norway's most hyped new bands, ready for the world! Coming out of the suburbs of Bergen on the west coast of Norway, Blood Command has an ambition when it comes to sound and message that goes far beyond the seven mountains that fence in their hometown. Where Blood Command comes from, you are expected to bow your head to the grey clouds of tradition and look at your shoes when you play music. Blood Command chooses not to - they are addressing the world with their debut, Ghostclocks, on Fysisk Format. Ghostclocks is a debut of volcanic dimensions, the consequence of four men and a woman in front that has been silently constructing a panoramic mix of hardcore and classic rock. So far they’ve been keep-ing it to themselves, but on November the 1st, lava-like sing-along choruses and thick smoking riffs are going to bury what once was. Whether it is hair metal bands or spastic hardcore like Blood Brothers, there’s a long standing tradition for male singers aiming at female vocal qualities.

For Fans Of: Jesus Lizard, Melvins, Killing Joke. Produced by Billy Anderson (Melvins, Neurosis, Sleep). Promotion by Goldstar PR. Featured in Terrorizer's Fear Candy comp in September. Europe/UK tour in October. Årabrot is a Norwegian noise-rock band from Haugesund, Norway. Årabrot is named after the city garbage disposal and the local authorities also found it appropriate to place a school for troubled youths there. In the same way these garbage disposals are a yeasty oasis of scents and liq-uids that through the years will mutate into indefinable masses, Årabrot is a band that continuously develops into something more raw and intriguing. Since starting out in 2001, Årabrot’s main core has been Kjetil Nernes (songwriter, guitar and vocals) and Vidar Evensen (drums and visuals), and in recent years noise artist Stian Skagen has been a regular on-and-off member of the band. Collaborating with producers such as Billy Anderson (Melvins, Neurosis), Emil Nikolaisen (Serena Maneesh) and Steve Albini (Nirvana, High on Fire) the band has released three full-length albums and a grotesque bouquet of singles and EPs. 2009 alone produced two criti-cally acclaimed Eps’ ‘AbsoluteNegativism’ and ‘I Rove’, together with a double LP with side project Nernes/ Skagen, and last but not least the masterpiece ‘The Brother Seed’, the latter earning lots of international attention and a Norwegian Grammy nomination.

Fire Records are proud to announce the signing of a band that has been thrilling our ears all year. New Zealand’s Surf City will be releasing the jaw-dropping kiwi guitar buzz masterpiece “Kudos” on the Fire Records label this November. We might be biased but this is clearly the -nest six string pop haze we have come across in quite some time. Joining the long line of Fire masters from Spacemen 3 to Teenage Fanclub, and sprinkling in that beloved New Zealand ‑avor, Surf City are the perfect pack of young chord slashers to take their place on our wall of guitar mavens. Updating the psych haze of the Spacemen with the circular drone of Animal Collective and the o kilter melodies of The Clean with the drive of Interpol, Surf City is the perfect mix of everything you loved about the early 80’s New Zealand jangle and the 60’s blur of Velvets and Zombies with the shapeshifting songwriting of today. Formed by Davin Stoddard and Josh Kennedy, they quickly stared banging out catchy nuggets with the aid of Josh’s brother Jamie on bass and Logan Collins pounding the drums, and the foursome were o and running. Eventually settling on the Jesus and Mary Chain inspired name, they arrived with their Steve Keene (hunted down for his previous work for Pavement and Silver Jews) adorned self-titled debut EP. Keene’s art will feature on the long player as well! Hotly tipped as a band to watch, the group played some manic shows at both home and showcase gigs abroad. Stereogum praised their “impressively assured sound” and “perfect 2-minute pop storm.” All Music was taken with the “sheer energy and ragged happy sound” and gushed “the whole is just a delight.” Pitchfork noted that “their punky psychedelic pop is impressive” and admitted “Surf City’s pleasure for pleasure’s sake approach already has me pining for more.” The buzz was building and with the release of “Kudos,” it is time for it to be realized. Inaccurately yet a-ffectionately dubbed the Godfather of Alt. Country by the British press, Tucson, Arizona-based musician Howe Gelb has remained the sole epicenter and creative force behind the ever—fluid configurations of Giant Sand for over a quarter century. 2010 marks the 25th anniversary of the bands 1985 debut long player ―Valley Of Rain‖ - the point in which Howes music visions began - and will see the release of the complete works of Giant Sand, Howe Gelb, Arizona Amp and The Bands Of Blacky Ranchette – a collection of works that maintains its own genre-defying singularity drawing on the not-so disparate threads of his south western roots, lo-fi, country, jazz, and punk ... ―Giant Sand is a mood," explained Howe, as if to simplify the dizzying breadth of his prolific output as an artist. 2010 will also welcome the release of the new Giant Sand record ―Blurry Blue Mountain – the follow up to the bands critically acclaimed 2008 album ―ProVisions‖ ―These recordings were done in the space between the waking world and the sleeping one. There exists a point there with a broad landscape that has seldom been loitered in. As with every previous album, none of this was planned. Every record has its own atmosphere. For me they are always a new place to live in and spend some time before moving on. On this album, it happened that every session we were able to record came between work loads that rendered us at that point of sleeping and waking. Like the poppy fields in wizard of oz, we went in and out of consciousness at various times during recording. This is not a bad thing. Nor does it make the record sound like we’re asleep. It has the momentum of that place between sleep and being awake, and in that narrow slip of existence lies a landscape of reason that most of us hurry past in daily lives. This record is planted firmly there‖ ―Between the crystal clear focus of your day to day and the luxury of sweet fuzzy sleep, we welcome you to the blurry blue mountain‖. Track listing : 1. HYDRA H E A D R E C O R D S HARVEY MILK “Harvey Milk” 2xLP
Previously known, to you likely too-savvy-for-your-own-good individuals, as the famous “Bob Weston Sessions”, Harvey Milk's “Harvey Milk” 2xLP is a re-re-remastered version of the band's should-have-been debut record. The thing never received a proper release, so we over at Hydra Head decided to set the record straight. Harvey Milk is as heavy as ever and Creston Spiers, as most of you likely too-savvy-for-your-owngood individuals already know, was born with that particular seabitten brand of a man's voice that we're all so jealous of. Packaging: Full color direct-to-board 2xLP single jacket. Includes a reproduction of Harvey Milk's original 8x10 press photo

“Stained Glass” CDep
Scenes of rapture, agony, and consecration are arrayed as windows in this latest EP by the avant-rock maestros. With a large ensemble of glimmering malleted percussion, shrieking distorted organs, crystalline guitars, and sighing horns, violins, and vocals, Stained Glass' translucent passages of unearthly beauty set a new standard in soothing terror. Stained Glass features the return of original Kayo Dot lyricist Jason Byron, as well as a guest appearance by electric guitar genius Trey Spruance (Secret Chiefs 3, Mr. Bungle). “Some bands really do defy easy encapsulation. Kayo Dot make music of a perpetually shifting kind, a writhing, transfiguring sound that possesses elements of prog and jazz and avant-garde composition and art-rock, but inhabits none of them and all of them at once.” - Rock-A-Rolla Magazine

CAVE IN
“Anomalies Vol. 1” LP
While genre bending might be the name of the game in contemporary hardcore/metal, it can be argued that Cave In heralded, even created this trend long before the explosion of craptastic bands with chugging verses and faux-emotional choruses diluted the form to a point of meaningless static. The seamless blending of pummeling thrash, squalls of psychedelic melody, truly emotive vocalizations (of both the sung and screamed variety), and peerless arrangements make all the originals as well as the highly altered covers (Black Sabbath, The Cure, Bad Brains) in this compilation as vital now as they were then. Though some of these tracks were released in various forms around the time they were recorded, it is only now over a decade since their creation that the true enormity of their growth and subsequent impact on the next generation of bands can be fully appreciated.

DAUGHTERS
“s/t” LP
“There's still room for flashes of the manic fretwork and double-bass drum damage of old in tracks like the thick and brutal "The Dead Singer", or "Our Queens", a song that's equal parts fractured mathcore and fistpumping punk anthem. That said, pummeling hook-filled songs like the "The Hit" or "Sweet Georgia Brown" are the new norm. The moves made here are no different than the recent "pop" moves made by equally uncompromising bands like The Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, and Torche-- each of those bands still sound like themselves, but they're also open to change and wholly willing to evolve into something else, fan backlash be damned. ” - Pitchfork Packaging: 5 color single tip-on LP jacket with high gloss stock, with a 5-color LP insert with high gloss stock. First pressing of 1000 units on 3 colors of vinyl. Grab it while it lasts! ALSO AVAILABLE FROM DAUGHTERS: HYH-111 Hell Songs CD/LP
