MANDISA LYNN HUNDLEY
Grammy award-winning ‘American Idol’ alum, died at 47
Mandisa Lynn Hundley was born October 2nd, 1976 in Citrus Heights, CA. She sadly has passed at the young age of 47.
She was found unresponsive in her home at her own bedside. No cause of death has been confirmed, however, the family has told the press that she was recovering from a bad case of COVID-19 and appeared to have fallen while getting out of bed.
Mandisa, was introduced to the world in season 5 of American Idol where she placed in the top 10. This catapulted her career and she shortly after, released her first album “True Beauty” in 2007. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Top Christian Album charts; it was the first time a new female Christian vocalist
appeared at the top of this chart, in 27 years of publication. It was also the first of five Grammy Nominations for the new artist. Two of her early singles, “Only the World,” and “God Speaking,” also had chart topping success.
Mandisa won a Grammy for her fourth album “Overcomer,” for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. However shortly after this she descended into a serious depression after then loss of a very close friend to Breast Cancer. In 2022, she wrote a tell all book Out of the Dark: My Journey Through the Shadows to Find God's Joy. The book outlined her struggles with depression and mental illness and touted the benefits of religion and counselling.

Ms. Mandisa Lynn Hundley was at the height of her career, with 5 Grammy Nods and 1 Grammy Win, and slew of chart topping hit singles and albums that were truly inspirational and genre crossing, in that they became some of the only Christian/Gospel chart toppers to also show great success on the broader top 200 Pop Charts. This is a true testament to just how special this young lady was and how amazing her voice and vocals were. She will be remembered fondly by her family, friends, and fans all over. Rest in peace. OJ SIMPSON
Famous Athlete, Movie Star and Courtroom Victor, died at 76
OJ. Simpson was born Orenthal James Simpson on July 9th, 1947 in San Francisco, CA. Early on, he lived a fairy tale life. He was a college football sensation, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1968 while playing for the USC Trojans. He then was the “First Pick” of the 1969 NFL draft and joined the Buffalo Bills with whom he played 9 seasons and was by all accounts one of the NFL’s best players of the time. During his 9 seasons, he set a record becoming the first NFL player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season. He made the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team selections for 5 consecutive years and led the entire league in rushing yards, 4 times and rushing touchdowns 2 times. He was also the NFL Most Valuable Player the same year he set the rushing record. And to this day he still holds the current record for
highest single season yards per game average, which is 143.1 yards. After the Bills, he joined and retired from the San Francisco 49’ers. And in 1979, after retiring as a superstar from football; he would later be added to the Football Hall of Fame in 1985; he started the next chapter of his Fairy Tale life and joined the Hollywood world as an actor.
The acting bug actually bit O.J. while he was at USC and his first role was an uncredited role on the hit series Dragnet. He continued acting during his NFL career and from 1974 to 1978 he had roles in major films; Roots, The Klansman, The Towering Inferno, The Cassandra Crossing and Capricorn One.
He was also extremely well known as a brand icon in the Hertz Rental Car Commercials. In 1979 after retiring from Football, he enjoyed a decade as a sports broadcaster for football.
RED INK MAGAZINE 8
Also in 1979 he started his own Movie Production studio, Orenthal Productions, which launched several “made for TV” movies. And later in the 90’s he costarred alongside Leslie Nielsen in the Naked Gun trilogy.
But alas, all good things must come to an end, and in 1994, O.J. Simpson’s life turned from Fairy Tale to Tragedy. On June 12th, 1994, O.J. Simpson was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her “friend” Ron Goldman. This infamous murder led to the most publicized police chase in history. Even people who were not born at the time of the event are familiar with the several hours long slow speed police chase that was broadcast live over every major channel, where O.J. Simpson and his friend Al Cowlings, the driver, in his White Ford Bronco led several dozen police cars on a chase that shut down the 405 Freeway. Even more publicized than the chase was the trial. The trial was so sensationalized that the defense’s final closing statements that led to an acquittal, have become a part of popular culture. “If the glove does not fit, you must acquit,” is probably one of the most famous courtroom quotes in history.
Although O.J was exonerated on the criminal charges, the civil trial that followed did find him guilty and liable for the deaths of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown and he was ordered to pay $33.5 million to the families however at the time, his net worth was only $11 million and he was forced to sell every
thing that he owned including his own Heisman Trophy. He was ultimately left destitute and lost his house in foreclosure. Several years later Simpson had a few minor run-ins with the law in Miami, for various offenses, and in 2006 his book titled, If I Did It, was by order of the court given entirely to the Goldman family so that they would earn the money from it and not him. Soon after this additional financial blow, O.J. Simpson was arrested in Las Vegas for putting together a group of armed men and then with the threat of violence confronting people that had stolen his personal memorabilia from him during his move out of his house many years earlier who happened to be in Vegas at the same time. He was arrested and charged with Armed Burglary and kidnapping for detaining these people who had previously robbed him and he was sentenced to 33 years in prison, however he was granted parole for good behavior in 2017 and lived a relatively quiet existence after that.
In May 2023, it was made public that O.J. was diagnosed with Cancer, however he was optimistic that he could beat it, however, on April 10th he lost that battle at the age 76. O.J. Simpson is someone that will be remembered in the annals of history for reasons both good and bad. The good are amazing and the bad are equally memorable. For this writer, however, I would like to remember O.J. Simpson as “The Juice,” an incredible athlete and an equally great actor who made me laugh in the Naked Gun movies. Rest in Peace. by Michael Devine u

LANCE VIATOR
Young author with a Message and a Mission
Lance Viator was born with Toruette’s Syndrome and as a result was always set aside by society. He was always told that he was too different and too broken to succeed because of his disability. Yet his dream never faltered. He never lost sight of the big picture. His goal was always to work in the music industry and to produce the best music videos for the best artists. This dream was realized to some extent when he shot a music video for NBA YoungBoy and that video received 1.3 million views on YouTube. His work is not done and his dreams are only getting bigger.
In his youth, his Tourette’s Syndrome caused him to have loud and unconventional outbursts whenever he had silence in his mind. So he turned to music and let the sounds occupy his mind and distract his illness. This condition led to a lot of ridicule from his peers and he was always told his dreams were too big.
Now that he has achieved his dream in some ways, he has expanded it in others. He now

aspires to do something greater through both his newfound talent in writing and also his talent in directing. Lance Viator wrote a book about his own story and experiences titled, ‘The Fear of Silence.’ He wants to use his story as a platform to inspire others with TS and also people with other disabilities. He wants others to follow in his example and not let their disability or the noise from the crowd keep them or inhibit them from continuing to push for their dreams.
Determination and focus can conquer all. Not only has Lance achieved some of his dreams, but now he has grown them to something much bigger. He would like to have his book of inspiration turned into a movie and then he would like to become director and producer for big Blockbuster movies himself. These are some impressive dreams, but as long as you believe in yourself and never lose sight of the prize at the end, anything is possible.

REDINK: Who or what inspired you to get into writing and publishing a book?
LV: I always had a vision to write a book on my own, of my life and what I been through. One day I just finally decided to write it and share my story with the world. My book is 5 Stars on Amazon, it was featured on Writers World Radio, 24 Hip Hop Magazine, And I just recently received 2024 book of the year award.
REDINK: Tell us about Lance Viator?
LV: I’m an author from Southwest Louisiana, I was a music video director for over 10 years, during my career I’ve worked with the top streaming artists from Baton Rouge Louisiana, the most famous artist I worked with was NBA Young boy and that video has over 1.3 million views on YouTube. My book is called “The Fear of Silence, it’s a story about a man born with Tourette’s Syndrome who uses music as an outlet to help him with his disorder. He “fears the silence” meaning he needs music and noise to help him with his condition. When it’s quiet he yells and does things that aren’t normal around people in public. He was teased and bullied as a child but he just used all that pain to push him to be something great. His dream was to shoot music videos for celebrities and he accomplished that.
REDINK: What message are you sending to others?
LV: My message is to always chase your dreams even when people doubt you and it seems impossible. If you work hard at something and never quit, anything can come true.
REDINK: Are you working on any other projects?
LV: I’m working on “The Fear Of Silence“ part 2, another Novel called “Jesus is my Superman” and I would also like to publish “The Fear Of Silence” Short Stories which will kind of be like Goosebumps.
REDINK: Tell us some of your Struggles? If any.
LV: The biggest struggle I’ve had in life was other people’s opinions and thoughts making my dreams seem like it was too big to catch. But with God, nothing is ever too big for him.
REDINK: Where do you see yourself in 10 years and what can we expect next from you?
LV: In the next 10 years my biggest goal to make a movie about my novel “The Fear Of Silence” Movie. My dream is to be a movie director and work on big box office movies like Stephen King.

Passover Riddim chapter II
Juggling riddims have long been a trademark of reggae, bringing that choral feeling showing that this music is more than individual flair, it’s the product of a movement, a collective effort, a culture.
The Passover Riddim’s two chapters aims to live up this tradition by putting together a world class artists lineup over a one drop Greezzly beat that’s gonna make you want to dance.
The world is changing and roots reggae is increasingly an international heritage gaining wide popularity far from its original cradle, yet its core is still, without a doubt, Jamaica. According to that this project includes artists based from Jamaica to North America and Europe, with the particular goal of introducing some powerful West African talents to global audiences, thanks also to the collaboration between the label and Nile Muzik (Gambia) and DJ Lass Angel Vibes (Senegal).
The playlist opens with some of the most prominent
names in contemporary roots marking a strong presence of the land where this music comes from. Superstar com bos Fantan Mojah & Richie Spice, Chezidek & Perfect Giddimani are followed by the label’s frequently associated Ras Penco along with veteran artist Kush Bashan and the emerging talent of I Noah.
The Fantan Mojah and Richie Spice combination and the I Noah track results from the collaboration with Vertex Productions and label’s owner Xray played an important role in their creation.
Then it’s the turn of the african squad led by the virtuoso tenor of Dread Vivas (Senegal) followed by the surprising rookie Original Paupers (Senegambia) and then the late Kambano, a highly respected Senegalese veteran who tragically passed away after voicing the riddim. May his soul rest in peace and find the justice he is calling for in his song.
The selection is completed by a wicked dub version made by the producer himself. by Sarah@DVibes.UK u

In May, the desire to meet new people will awaken in Aries. Therefore, the work commitment will rather step aside, and you will set out for new experiences. You can look forward to meeting a lot of new people from different cultures who will bring a lot of excitement and a new worldview to your life.
May awakens in Taurus an immense desire for love and physical contact. At the same time, this month, you may face an exaggerated need to control and appropriate your partner, which is definitely not desirable and, on the contrary, could lead to disappointment. Therefore, get rid of your possessive tendencies, give your partner space and enjoy the moments spent together.
May will be focused mainly on relationships. You will finally find harmony, and your emotions will stabilise. Gradually, the ability to empathise with others and adapt communication to others’ feelings will be strengthened.
In May, Cancer will face relationship problems that have been building up for a long time. The small hints that you have been overlooking will come to the surface and turn into more serious problems and need to be sorted out. However, during this time, these things will make you tired, and you will be reluctant.
In May, Leo will start thinking about family. This will be accompanied by a desire to deepen the relationship with your partner and your children. Everything else in this period will step aside, and you will focus only on your family and their happiness. This will make you the perfect partner and parent.
May will be a challenging month for Virgo. Especially in the field of career, there are many obstacles that you will have to overcome. It won't be easy, but you will handle it. With your patience, which you will definitely not lack this month, you can do a lot and, in addition, you will gain valuable experience that you can use later at work.
May will bring Libra love and passion into their lives. Those of you who are in a relationship can look forward to finding the spark again. You will feel like you are newly in love, and you will long for each other again. Let this great energy flow and go for it.
May will be a time of love and love relationships. Scorpios might use this lovely time to take your beloved ones on a holiday because it is a unique opportunity to spend some beautiful moments together. Those who do not have a partner will have a big chance to meet the right one for them this month.
May will be a month of personal development for you. Sagittarians will sharpen all their senses which will help them to orientate in all aspects of their lives, especially in their relationships. You will be open to new information and experiences. However, it is possible that you will look a bit oversensitive in some situations, which could drive your partner away.
May will bring out self-esteem and strong ambitions in Capricorns. You will manage to do everything you set as your goal, and nothing will put you off. You will enjoy being the centre of attention of others; you will not care about whether people talk about you nicely or not; you will just want to be the topic of their conversations.
May will evoke some contradictory feelings in Aquarians. You will get to a crossroads in your private life, and you will not know which way to go. Your love life will trouble you the most. You will start questioning whether your partner is the right one, and memories of your old love will start popping up, and you will start comparing the two of them.
In this time period, you will feel so much love inside of you. It is because May will bring out a lot of tenderness and affection, which they will spread around. This month is ideal for meeting new people and strengthening your current relationships. Thanks to your natural charm you will attract other people's attention who will feel safe with you.
