WELCOME J O H N K E E LY, C E N T R A L R I V E RS B OA R D C H A I R

Welcome to season 2021. It is certainly great to be back and not confined to our homes. I am excited to be able get out about and renew old acquaintances and for our Clubs do battle with their opposition counterparts. Who would have thought after the grand finals of 2019 we would have to wait till now to get a fix of local football and netball. The impact of Covid has had a significant effect on our football and netball communities. Junior football numbers are of a particular concern for several Clubs and the Central Rivers board. This is not an issue confined to our region. It is a state-wide issue. It is important that our Clubs work together throughout the season and communicate with each other to ensure we can increase participation rates to maintain the future viability of our Clubs. Whilst I understand that everyone wants to win, we need to place a strong focus on player retention. Everything possible needs to be done to create an environment that sees participants stay in the game. If we cannot do that this put our Clubs futures at risk. JUNIORS ARE THE STARTING BASE for your Club. I urge Clubs to continue to utilize the services of our Football Development Manager in David Alderuccio. David’s enthusiasm and passion is second to none and he has access to the resources and programs to help Clubs in these areas.

Last year also saw AFL VIC undertake a review of the Club Sustainability Program (CSSP) due to the potential effects Covid could impose on the football aspect of Clubs. A result of this review saw a reduction in the salary caps for Clubs state-wide. The financial viability of our Clubs is paramount to their future. We need to ensure no undue stress is placed on our Clubs and their administrators. There will be varying degrees of impact amongst Clubs on the effects of Covid and we need to ensure that those severely effected are not put at a disadvantage that puts unneeded pressure on them.

Behind the scenes, on an administrative front, the Central Murray Commission has been wound up. As a result of this, we (Central Rivers Board and Central Murray & Golden Rivers Clubs) are now affiliated with AFL Central Vic. We look forward working with Carol Cathcart and her administrative team at the AFL Central Vic commission, headed by Nicholas Rolfe. Locally, we offer a big welcome to Taylah Morris as the Leagues Manager. Taylah has grown up locally and understands the needs of the regions Clubs. Taylah will be based in Swan Hill at the Stadium and is the point of contact for our Clubs. Tess Denham remains in managing the Stadium and merchandise sales to the high standard that you are accustomed to. As you will have noticed by now the “Record” has seen a significant change and move into the digital age. This was due to several factors. The cost of printing along with a minimum number that needed to be printed saw the need to increase the Record price. This resulted in lower sales and many Clubs left with Records that they did not sell. This was an added expense that Clubs do not need. For those want to know the player numbers a print version of team lists will be available at the gate each week. The new digital Record will create an opportunity for Clubs and their sponsors to be more engaged with the sporting public. Our league is an integral part of the community and we support local endeavors which benefit or acknowledge sacrifices made on behalf of the community. The themed rounds for this season are: ANZAC, Pink Ribbon, Love the Game, Pride Cup, Headspace and NAIDOC. These are all worthy causes, and we are encouraging clubs and the community to get behind these rounds by donating, wearing colors of the event, or just attending the venue. 3SH will continue to broadcast Central Murray games this season. So if you can’t make the game tune in to 3SH where two callers, one special comments and a boundary rider will keep you up to date with one featured match each weekend. There will be pre and post-game interviews, quarter by quarter summaries and score updates from around the region. 3SH will be extensively promoting football this season. I look forward to seeing everyone throughout the year ahead.

WORDS FROM OUR CLUBS TO O L EY BUC - M A N A N GATA N G

As we all know season 2020 did not go to script as many would have envisaged it to. It was the first time since the war years that the weekends took on a different feel as football & netball was called off throughout the entire region. For many the initial spare time we had at our disposal was a welcome blessing but as the lockdown strengthened it became apparent how much of a physical & social role sporting clubs played within the community. It is through this reflection that the committee has been able to stay strong & focused with the aim of ensuring football and netball remains an integral part of the region. A successful club starts with the committee which will be led this year by joint president’s Rick Plant & Tony Hoare. The off season saw a couple of minor changes to the committee members which has produced some new ideas and perspectives with one pleasing aspect being the number of young, fresh faces coming on board.

Over the last 3 months things have really ramped up in terms of the preparation for the coming season as the uncertainty surrounding another cancelled season recedes. With challenges faced in terms of reinstating the habitual nature of training and

preparing to play, it is hoped through the joy of seeing and running around with mates both on the field & court will be enough to rekindle the flame of playing after the last year off. From a football perspective late last year saw the reluctant resignation of our senior coach Mark Alvey who was offered a new occupation involving weekend work which made him unable to commit to the club as he had originally planned. That sent the recruiting team into overdrive over the summer with the guys doing an amazing job in being able to sign Damian Lock as our new senior coach for the next two seasons. Damian comes to the saints having had significant coaching experience around the Bendigo area along with having a brief stint with Carlton in the big smoke. The reserves will be led this year by Kris ‘Hoota’ Morris with the junior roles to be again filled by familiar names in the coaching ranks. The club really does appreciate all the time & effort these men put in and on the flip side the club is always welcome to fresh ideas & new faces on the sidelines to help those who are in charge. Netball wise numbers at training have been positive with everyone eager to get underway this season. Our A Grade side will be trialling a new approach to coaching which will see the formation of a panel to share the heavy workload & make the role more achievable. The make up of the panel system will be; • Four leaders where training preparation is undertaken on a rotation basis. • Three sideline support people who are responsible for team selection, game day decisions & support. • One facilitator to link everyone together & ensure the team is consistently meeting the agreed objectives.

WORDS FROM OUR CLUBS TO O L EY BUC - M A N A N GATA N G Our major sponsors have returned again this season & we thank WFI (Swan Hill) & Tooleybuc Sporting Club for their continued support. Once again for any members who take out insurance with WFI the club gets the commission which has been a great initiative over the years while the Tooleybuc Sporting Club has continued to host functions & be a great ongoing support to the club. Other sponsors of note which are also greatly appreciated are Pooles Accountants, Sunrise Ag, Andrew Peace Wines, Agri Lending Solutions, BRM Electrical, Go Farm Australia, Grant’s Seed Cleaning & GMG Accounting.

Like all seasons the work behind the scenes of all the volunteers is valued greatly. Match day in many ways is only the tip of the iceberg with volunteers required to work all year round to ensure everything runs smoothly. Match days in itself can see up to 50 volunteers needed each game & we ask all members to always consider helping out at any time throughout the year. Additionally as a club we are always looking for new ideas so while you sit back & ponder this thought, please give some time to what can be done to improve the club as the committee are all willing listeners & welcome to any new ways of thinking.

The social committee has once again been busy organising an array of functions which will ensure there is plenty to do even after the final siren has sounded. This week will be the mystery bus tour while next week following the Woorinen game at Tooleybuc will be our BIG DRAW which is one of the clubs main social & fundraiser events for the year. The other main fundraiser to keep an eye out for will be the Goods & Services auction which will be held later in the season. The club has also introduced a members draw on Thursday night’s whereby members have the chance to win a cash prize if their number is drawn out & they are still present at the clubrooms. If the member who is drawn out is not present then the cash prize will jackpot to the following week. So keeping that in mind supporters should come on down to training on Thursday’s nights for a great feed & the chance at taking home some cash. Lastly the TMFNC is very thankful to all its players, members & supporters in the way they conduct themselves both on & off the field. This season as a club we ask everyone to embrace the challenge and get involved within the community in a way which will make our club as strong as it can be.

GO SAINTS!

PROUDLY SUPPORTING COUNTRY VICTORIANS VWA 1007_FootyRecord_210x148_Football_CMYK_V3.indd 1 WorkSafe is proud to once again support AFL

Vic Country for the much-anticipated 2021 season. We have been closely associated with country football and netball since 2002 and it’s a partnership we are passionate about, as it plays such a significant role in the health, safety and wellbeing of regional and rural communities. For many country Victorians weekends centre around going to the local ground to watch the football and netball. It unites communities with common purpose, and it helps everyone stay connected. After a year of being socially isolated from family, friends, colleagues and team-mates, this has never been more important. Together we need to re-establish those connections and look out for the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone in our community. This year WorkSafe will continue to work alongside local clubs and leagues to promote workplace safety, so we can ensure all workers make it home and get to do the things they love, like playing sport each and every day. When our workers are safe, we’ll see them on the field. We’ll see them on the court. Or we’ll see them on the sidelines. In country areas we know a large part of staying safe at work is staying safe on farms. Sadly we know far too many workers are being killed or seriously injured on farms every year.

L & NE AL B

WorkSafe’s new agriculture campaign “It’s never you, until it is” shows how easily an ordinary day can turn to tragedy and how small decisions can have life-changing consequences.

6/04/2016 4:20 PM This isn’t about us telling farmers and those in the agriculture industry what to do, but reminding them that accidents can and do happen.

We want to change the bullet-proof attitudes that many farmers have, that an accident, serious injury or fatality will not happen to them. That an ordinary day can turn to tragedy and have life-changing consequences for the farmer, workers, family and the farm’s future. WorkSafe can’t do this alone, that’s why we value this partnership so much. When the season was cancelled last year because of COVID-19, we put in place an alternative WorkSafe Country Club Challenge. This created a space to allow clubs to still engage with each other and the wider community. But it didn’t fully replace the comraderie and of course the fierce competitiveness of playing against each other every weekend. We look forward to again embracing that competitive spirit and to meeting you at a Country Club Game throughout the season and through the @CountryClubHub group on Facebook. We are here to support you and our Club Safety Fund offers financial support to clubs who have initiatives to make their players and supporters safer. Because when we work together we can get the message out that workplace safety is everyone’s responsibility. COLIN RADFORD CHIEF EXECUTIVE WORKSAFE VICTORIA

SEASON PREVIEW C E N T R A L R I V E RS BALRANALD

KERANG

Newly appointed Balranald coach Ben Mahon will be leading a new look Balranald side in 2021 which will be without 2019 captain/coach Cameron Barrett who has moved to the Northern Football League, as well as 2019 Best & Fairest winner Laine Fitzgerald.

Kerang is another side that has brought back a lot of local talent this season, with Troy Coates joining Jesse Clark as a coach for the 2021 season. There are a lot of players on this year’s list that were important pieces in the Kerang Dynasty from the last decade. The Blues have also added some big-name recruits to join the club this year, highlighted by two Bendigo FNL superstars Sam Heavyside & Bryce Curnow.

Balranald has looked to recruit players that will play an exciting brand of football & none will be more exciting than Timothy Misquito a former NTFL Nicholls award winner that likes to use his pace and skill to win games off of his boot. Balranald kicks off their season this weekend at home against Nyah Nyah West United. Coach: Ben Mahon

Local young gun Josh Nitschke has put in a lot of hard work over the offseason and has been awarded co-captaincy with Troy Davis, can these boys lead Kerang back to premiership glory?

Player To Watch: Harrison Soraggi

Kerang begins their 2021 campaign against Tooleybuc Manangatang at home this weekend.

COHUNA

Coach: Jesse Clark/Troy Coates

At a glance of the Cohuna Kangas team sheet, it looks like they’re primed for a deep finals run with a lot of gun locals coming back home to top up an already talented list.

Player To Watch: Bradlee Pay

Former Jack Betts Medalist Joel Helman leads the list of local boys coming back. Others returning include Jack Donat, Rhys Free, Daniel Coates & Tyler Jones while also picking up Tyson Findlay & Andy Ryan. Rumour has it that they have a few extras ‘hopping’ on board this year as well. Coach Neil Bradley would be excited to have such a strong influx of talent to play alongside star midfielder Tom Toma & 2019 leading goalkicker Dylan Johnstone.

KOONDROOK BARHAM Koondrook Barham opened up their new clubrooms & 2021 season against Tyntynder last weekend. Tyntynder proved too strong for the Raiders on a very windy Barham oval. Shane Guerra & Dean Mcgowan have taken over a young Koondrook Barham side that has welcomed Colin Mcveigh, Jey Reynolds & Reagan Hamilton to the club whilst retaining Kal Huntly, Matthew O’Dwyer, Phil Smith & Cam Arnold.

Cohuna starts their season against fierce rivals Koondrook Barham at Barham recreation reserve.

The story of Koondrook Barhams season will be whether the young Raiders can take another step in their development this season to assist the players brought in.

SEASON PREVIEW C E N T R A L R I V E RS LAKE BOGA

NYAH NYAH WEST UNITED

The 2019 season didn’t go as planned for the Magpies after failing to win a game. Shawn Filo has been brought in to continue the development of the young players whilst also ensuring that the magpies are more competitive this season.

The Demons had a tough 2019 campaign under firstyear coach Corey Daniels with only two wins for the season.

Lake Boga has bolstered their list with some very strong signings, none bigger than former AFL player Angus Monfries, Monfries played 200 games with both Essendon & Port Adelaide. Other signings include Chris Williams (WAFL), Rhys Healy (VFL), John Harvey (BFNL), Matt Filo (BFNL), Romaine Greenville (GFL) & Matt Crooks (VAFA). Lake Bogas strong 2021 recruiting class with continued development from the young magpies should have the club enjoying a much more successful on-field season this year. Coach: Shawn Filo Player to Watch: Ryan Fox

MALLEE EAGLES The 2019 runner ups will be looking to go one step further this season. The Eagles have lost quite a few players from the 2019 side due to relocation but are bullish on the development of their younger locals who are now two years older than when we last saw them. Reigning Jack Betts medallist Harry Allen will lead a side that will still play a strong brand of football under coach Dean Helmers. Zak Saad and Rex Hickman return to be the spearheads of a strong Eagles attack.

Look for the Demons to improve on that total this season after retaining the core of their list whilst also welcoming Jake Wilkinson, Brady Davidson, Sam Arho, Cael Price, Alex Erlandson & Adrian Knee. From all reports local Zack Threadgold has put in a lot of work over the preseason is preparing for a big season. The Demons travel to Balranald to kick off their season. Coach: Corey Daniels Player to Watch: Zack Threadgold

SWAN HILL Matthew Wade & Darcy Ryan have taken on the coaching roles for 2021 in what should be a successful year for the club. The Swans will be excited to welcome back Xavier Mertz to the club after coaching Moulamein last season to improve an already strong midfield. Oscar Lewis has returned to SHFNC. He is a homegrown product and has spent recent times with the Torquay Football Club and the Geelong Falcons under eighteens footy factory. Oscar is a smooth moving left-footer that will produce good footy for the Swans. Any side that features two times Jack Betts Medalist Matt Wade & CMFNL Player of the Decade will be competitive in every game that they play.

The Eagles will have to wait an extra week to get their season started with a Round 1 bye.

The Swans play their first game against Lake Boga which is shaping up to be one of the games of the round.

SEASON PREVIEW C E N T R A L R I V E RS TOOLEYBUC MANANGATANG Tooleybuc Manangatang has recently announced Damien Lock as their coach for the upcoming season. Tooleybuc have lost 8-10 players from the side that played finals in 2019 including their best & fairest winner. It’s not all bad news for the saints with Tom Carland, Mitch Ferrie, Zdenek Hostalek, Shaun Jackson, Phillip Lobb & Shannon Milward all joining the club this season. The saints’ goal for the season is to play a high paced & exciting brand of football whilst also developing the young kids at the club. Tooleybuc Manangatang travel to Kerang in what should be a high paced & exciting game to open the season. Coach: Damien Lock Player to Watch: Jackson Morris

TYNTYNDER Tyntynder travelled to Koondrook Barham last weekend to open their season, Tyntynder were too strong for the Raiders in the last quarter and came away with an 8 point win. The dogs looked very impressive in the opening round & if they continue to play at that level throughout the season, they could be looking at a finals berth in 2021.

L & NE AL B

ALL TB

FOOT

Coach Justin Ellis was excited about the signings the club has made which will provide the Dogs with

plenty of depth and talent. Marcus Wattie, James and Tom Sala, Lachie Carroll, Jack Woodward, Tyson Hickey and Brodie Carroll are just a few to watch but there will be multiple improvers as the list is maturing and have put in a solid pre-season. Tyntynder will get the first look at reigning premiers Woorinen as they travel to Woorinen to open their season. Coach: Justin Ellis Player to Watch: Pat Crowe

WOORINEN The 2019 premiers will be one of the teams to beat again this year. Coach Marcus Demaria returns as they chase the “three-peat” alongside former premiership coach Josh Stone. The Tigers have retained a large percentage of their premiership side in 2019 while adding some additional talent from around the area including Ben Booth, Tom Isma, Arnold Kirby, Jordy Mcinnes & Brodie Warner. The Tigers open the season deservingly as favourites to win the flag but will run into some very good sides throughout the year, I’m sure that everyone at Tigerland can’t wait for the season to begin. The Tigers unveil the 2019 flag against Tyntynder at home. Coach: Marcus Demaria Player to Watch: Lachie Gardner

KOONDROOK BARHAM A P R I L 1 7 VS C O H U N A K A N GAS Well, what can we say, “unbelievable”, our first home game for competition points on our new ground with our new facilities on display and all aspects of the day exceeded expectations big time!. Off the field it was full on, on the field we didn’t get what we wanted as far as the seniors go, however our talented Colts evergreen Reserves won their games!. I suppose the highlight of the day though must go to the A Grade netball side who knocked off the Tyntynder A Grade for the first time since daylight saving come in!, a huge effort by the girls which just goes to show perseverance eventually pays off!. What a crowd, record gate, record sales through the bar and the kitchen, huge effort by the workers in the kitchen, to many involved to single out but your efforts were certainly appreciated. The bar was flat chat all day also so many thanks to Gerry & Ally for their help, overall this all meant a lot of tired people at the end of the day. The scoreboard looks great and is appropriately named the George Frankling Memorial Scoreboard plus the signage around the ground is really effective. As far as the footy goes, as stated before the Colts got the points in their game with a very good win running out 29pt. winners to kickstart their season they wanted to. It was a tad windy but the boys showed good skills and endeavour, quite a few players made their debut in this game due to them having to step up a grade and they all acquitted themselves very well, good work boys just got to keep it going now!.

The Reserves also got the points to be another team to kickstart their year on the right side of the ledger, it was a pretty easy win actually 75pts was the margin in the end. Again a few new faces took part in this game, plus a few returnees which is a good sign for the Ressies as we want players earning for their spots in the team don’t we!. Now for the Seniors who we had high hopes of making it a trifecta of wins, but, it wasn’t to be!. The Tyntynder Bulldogs came to spoil the party and that’s what they did, it wasn’t pretty footy but they handled the windy conditions better than us. A lot of chances went begging on the day which we really can’t afford to give up if they are presented, but then again we will improve, it’s only the first game!. The day didn’t start well when our ruckman and legend of the club in Matty Dean went down in the first 30secs of play with a knock to the head, that was the end of Matty’s day which didn’t help our cause, let’s hope he is okay and gets up for this weeks game!. Well done to our recruits in Col McVeigh and Reagan Hamilton on playing their first games in Raiders colours plus welcome to both you and your families to Raiders territory, hope you enjoy stay with us. This week the whole CMFNL competition kicks off including us again, we come up against our old rivals the Cohuna Kangas in another home game for us, it won’ t be easy, they have recruited very well so let’s give it our best shot!, Good luck to all the other clubs within the league hopefully we all have an injury and uninterrupted year of footy and netball. COHUNA KANGAS A P R I L 1 7 VS KO O N D RO O K BA R H A M Well how good is it to be back playing community sport in 2021! A lot of hard works has gone in behind the scenes to ensure the club is well positioned to have a positive season. We would like to congratulate Josh Treacy for making his AFL debut for Fremantle in Round 4. It’s a great example of the pathway our local kids can take to make it to the biggest stage. Well done Josh…and Kirsten and Kiero Along the same lines Flynn Appleby was recently named as Captain of the North Melbourne VFL side. This is a huge honour and well deserved for Flynn who still has plenty to offer at AFL level. We wish both players all the best in 2021 and it’s a credit to their families and coaches who have shaped them into the excellent young men that they are.

Football: Senior Coaches: Neil Bradley & Tom Toma Senior Assistant: Tyson Findlay We have been able to keep the majority of players we had for 2020 and lucky enough to be able to top up with a couple of extras. We have made a strong emphasis to get local lads back at the Kangas as much as we can and we are rapt with the response from the playing group. Reserve Coach: Norm Cooke The club were rapt to get Norm and Baz to take the helm for 2021. Between them they have played about 800 games of local footy and they know the ins and outs of getting the bests results.

Junior Coaches: Colts - Stuart Palmer Under 14.5’s – Daniel Cooke Under 12’s – Ian Mathers Auskick – Daniel Coates

Netball: Netball has been ticking along nicely over the off season with a lot of new faces to the club. This year we have appointed Dannielle Sawyer from White Hills as our A Grade coach and she brings a wealth of experience with her. She recently received her life membership in the Heathcote District Football League for playing 200 senior games. Well done Danni! A Grade has some new faces, Georgia Anderson from Golden Square, Kobie Free back from maternity leave and Charli Taylor is stepping up to A this year. Senior Coaches: A Res - Ange McNeil, B Grade – Casey Spring and B Res – Karen Peace We have an abundance of juniors this year which is fantastic after last year and they are all rearing to go for Round 1. Junior Coaches: Under 18 – Jorja Bird Under 16 – Catrina Robinson Under 14 – Sandra Mackenzie Under 12 – Jorja Henery We are ready for a great year of Netty and look forward to taking the court this weekend! The Cohuna Kangas FNC would like to thank Russell McLoughlan for the years of dedicated service he provided to The Club as Junior Coach, Committee Man, Barmen, Mr Fix It, Helper and All Round Good Guy over many years of service. Russell tragically passed away in 2020 and all teams will wear a black arm band today as a show of respect to the McLoughlan Family XxXxXx #9#GoTiges

BALRANALD A P R I L 1 7 VS N . N .W. U N I T E D How the world has changed since we last took the footy fields and netball courts and we will be conscious of COVID implications for some time yet. It has been a different lead up to the season and today but lets hope the League has a big year. Crowbar, Bronwyn and Doris are our Presidents for the year and are ably supported by their relevant committees. Seniors: Ben Mahon is welcomed into the Club to lead our Senior charges and after an outgoing of players we have retained our base group and recruited some boys that will be worth the time and money to come and watch. Reserves At the time of writing the Reserve coach has not been finalised with our prospective coaches either gone away and or having work commitments. Numbers have been encouraging and we look forward to some classic games this season. Colts: Sadly due to our kids leaving town for work and for school we did not have the numbers to field a Colts team for this season. The Juniors: Gavin “Doris” Campbell is coach of the Under 14’s whilst Paul Alderruchio and Marshall Bodinnar will coach the Scrubbers. We do have the minimal numbers in both grades and should see some good football from these teams. Netballers: Our netballers ably lead by our A Grade coach Jess Parry have had a big pre-season and are looking forward to the year.

They welcome the new players and families into the Club and wish each Coach and their teams all the best. Congratulations go to Macy Lloyd, Bree Hodgson and Grace Morton on making the Leagues inter-league teams for their respective age groups. Social Scene: Balranald Goat Races – Easter Saturday – What a day this turned out to be, great weather and a huge crowd kicked off our season in style. This day is now set in the Balranald calender. Thanks to all that helped out leading up to the day and on the day. A big thanks as always to the goat donors. Round 1 – United game – Tonight – We will be having a family night after the game with music by Code 5. Canteen: The canteen will be operating out of the new wing of the main hall and will managed by Dee Jess. Anyone wishing to assist in anyway please catch up with Dee. Thursday night meals – menu: Meals have started up again and we hope they are as popular as they were back last season. Memberships & Sponsorships: See Lisa Jolliffe to arrange your memberships for this year and Aish Gillbeeyou’re your sponsorship needs. Reserved Parking: Reserved parking is being kept to a limit this year and will be offered only to those that had parking last year. We will also be asking that those who do not sit with their car to free up their parking. Today we host United to begin our 2021 campaign. We wish all our football and netball teams the best.

N.N.W UNITED A P R I L 1 7 VS BA L R A N A L D Welcome to football and netball for 2021. And after the tough year in 2020, how good is it to be back. It’s been great to see old familiar faces as well as new ones around the club. While not much happened on the football ground or netball courts last year, the committee was still busy during this period. The major achievement during this time was the completion of our new netball courts, which would be without doubt (maybe a bit of bias), the best courts in the league. Many thanks to our major sponsor, Coburn’s Earthmoving who completed the works, along with the Swan Hill Rural City Council, who we able to help us to bring our plans to fruition. Talking about netball, there have been plenty of players at training. The coaches for this year are: A Grade Melissa Snyder A Reserve Janene Thompson B Grade Shanai Kelly B Reserve Louisa Curran Under 16’s Madison Curran Under 14’s Kerri Curran Under 12’s Teina Lusty & Madison Jones Net Set Go Janene Thompson On the football side of things, Corey Daniels has been appointed Senior coach for this year. He has taken the role on with plenty of enthusiasm, which has been reflected on the training track, with good numbers during pre-season. The coaches for the football grades this year are: Seniors Corey Daniels Reserves Marcus Skinner & John Threadgold Colts Joel Walsh & Ethan Saville Under 14.5’s Matt Curran

Under 12’s Ash Thompson Auskick David Henson Welcome back to all our local & returning player as well as all the new players & families to our club. We wish everyone the best of luck this year and hope everyone has a great time. Whether it be for with the football, netball or around the club in general, don’t be afraid to volunteer. Carolyn Duffy is running the kitchen on Thursday nights while Cassie Andrews will be in charge of the canteen on Saturdays at home game. If you are like some of us and don’t know your way around a kitchen, then you might be able to help out with umpiring or time keeping in the football or netball – I’m sure we can find something for you. As we all know, many hands make light work. CLUB MEMBERSHIPS & MERCHANDISE Another way to support the club is to buy a membership and some new merchandise. Vicki has all the different memberships that you can have, while Louisa is looking after the new merchandise sales. Get in quick and show your support. ANZAC DAY The local ANZAC Day Dawn Service will be held again this year at the Nyah Memorial Gates, with assembly at 5.50AM for a 6.00AM service. We will be hosting breakfast after the ceremony, with a gold coin donation. Any helpers for the breakfast will be most welcome. SOCIAL NEWS After the game today, we head back to the Kyalite Hotel for a meal and the awards. Please get back to support a long-time sponsor of the club. Good luck to all football and netball teams today. Go Dees.

KERANG A P R I L 1 7 VS TO O L EY BUC - M A N A N GATA N G Well it’s finally arrived and after an extended break of a whole football season we are all excited to be back in the saddle and about to embark on what is hopefully an uninterrupted footy season. The Senior footballers today embark on the new season under the guidance of our coaches Jesse Clark and Troy Coates. Both boys are Junior products of our club and have shown their commit-ment by taking on the senior coaching roles this year. It’s great to have Coatesy back at the club and he brings with him his usual high level of professionalism and commitment which is what he is reknowned for. Both Jesse and Troy have the boys primed and ready to go in what we hope will be an exciting season for the Blues. We also welcome a lot of new faces to the club in both Football & Netball and hope they have all settled in and made feel welcome.

but there have been a few late starters turning up in the last week or so. Our netballers are very excited for the first game of the year and with good Player numbers in both Seniors and Juniors the season ahead is looking very bright and encouraging. A Grade Netball has a new Coach with Emma Peacock embarking on her Senior Coaching Career. Rob Fisher continues in the role as Netball President and is ably assisted by Kate Matthews as Vice President and Kirstyn Waddingham as Secretary. There will be more news and updates on coach-ing appointments etc. next week. Keep up the great work and it will lead to a successful 2021 sea-son.

Scott Clingan Continues on as Club President and heads an enthusiastic Committee with a few new faces who are also looking forward to the year ahead. Jono Roberts is Coaching our Development Group this year and his experience and leadership will be invaluable. Trent O’Neil continues his coaching journey and is in charge of the Colts. In the junior ranks Scott Bremner is coaching the Under 14.5’s and Andrew Wilson takes the helm of the Under 12’s. Junior numbers are down slightly on previous years

Today we welcome Tooleybuc/Manangatang to our venue. We wish you all the best on the up-coming season and hope you all enjoy your day. We wish all our coaches and players the very best for the coming season. Also, a warm welcome to our new and returning faces, we’ll hear more about them as the season plays on. A huge Thankyou to all our Sponsors for your contribution to our club and last but by no means least all our Volunteers who put in countless hours of work every week.

TOOLEYBUC-MANANGATANG A P R I L 1 7 VS K E R A N G After a long hiatus it is great that we can finally welcome back our members, sponsors and supporters for another season in what will be the 18th year of the merger between Tooleybuc & Manangatang. Today we head down the Murray Valley Highway to Kerang in what will be a great test for all teams. Off the field the club will be run by joint president’s Rick Plant & Tony Hoare & thank you to all committee & community members who have worked tirelessly over the summer to ensure everything is ready to go for another season. On field the club has had a busy off season by appointing a new senior coach in Damian Lock along with a number of fresh players from far & wide. After slogging it out on the track all summer everyone will no doubt be looking forward to getting into it today & we wish Damian & his players all the best for the season ahead. Other football coaches for the 2019 season are; Reserves – Kris Morris Colts – Dave McNicol Under 14s – Brendan Rogers Under 12s - Luke O’Sullivan The club thanks them for their commitment & wishes everyone an injury free season.

Netball Notes: Welcome everyone to season 2021 which is shaping up as an exciting year for all involved. It is another excellent effort by the club to field all teams and big thank you must go to all the committee members & coaches who have been organising everything over the summer. Coaches for the year are as follows: A Grade – TBC A Reserve – Zoe Morris B Reserve – Mereeka Andrews 18 & Under – Nat Plant 16 & Under – Haylea Hazlett 14 & Under – Ange Spinks Today we head to Kerang in what is set to be another challenging first round. After a long break, the skills so far at training have been sharp with enthusiasm high so we look forward to seeing what the coming season has in store. Please be sure to keep an eye out for BIG DRAW tickets which will be on sale this week with this social function & draw to take place next week after the Woorinen game at Tooleybuc. Finally there are many jobs to be undertaken on match day each week and I would ask all supporters to volunteer for any job that may suit them as many hands make light work.

SWAN HILL A P R I L 1 7 VS L A K E B O GA After an 18 month hiatus we are back!. We welcome everyone to the first game of 2021 for the Swans in what we hope will be a great year on and off the court/field. Off the field and court the club will again led by new president Chris Craig-Neal. Chris has hit the ground running and the club is well prepared for the 2021 season. Chris and committee are very enthusiastic and excited about the year ahead. On the football field Matt Wade and Darcy Ryan will lead the senior side. The senior group have plenty of numbers and have had a long but beneficial pre season and will hit the ground in good shape today. The reserves who are reigning premiers and will unfurl their 2019 flag today will be coached by Josh Richards and Tom Holdstock. The reserves will be young and exciting to watch in 2021. Two young players have taken on the colts coaching role in Brenton Halligan and Charlie Hollingworth . Cal Beasy and Dean Bennett will coach the U14.5 and the young Swans should benefit from their expertise and experience. Scott Brown and Andy Graham will be in charge of the young U12 side. Mick Clohesy will take on Auskick again this year with record numbers registered at this stage. On the netball court Zoe O’Sullivan is the new A grade coach. A Reserve will be coached by Jade Hunter, with Rom Kennedy taking the reins of the B Grade side. B reserve coach was still to be announced. Junior coaches

this year are U18 Lea Andrews, U 16 Millie and Sophie Reed, U14 Karli McIntyre and U 12 Hayley Neuschafer. Thank you to these coaches for taking on these important roles. Thank you also to Nadene Simpson and Berni Foott for all of their work as netball coordinators over the off season. Thanks to all of our valued sponsors who are once again supporting the club. The list of sponsors are on the previous page and we need to support those who support us. We will be acknowledging our sponsors at our sponsors night at the Fed Hotel on April 23. We welcome all our new recruits and families to the club and wish them well when they step out this weekend. The 2021 social calendar is now out with a number of highlights. There will be music in the rooms tonight with the first major event being the famous rotating dinner on May 1st. Registrations are now open! Over Summer the Riverside Tri was held but due to covid was only the junior triathlon. It was a great success with many entrants and it was a great event. Thanks to Berni Foot and crew for their work with the Tri. Memberships have sold very well but if you need to sign up please see Mat Collins or any committee member. Thank you for your support. We wish all sides all the very best as they embark on the 2021 and good luck to all Swans representing the club this weekend!

WOORINEN A P R I L 1 7 VS T Y N T Y N D E R ITS GAME DAY TIGERS!!!!

to do one task and make our club the best that it can be.

Welcome back to Tigerland for season 2021! It is extremely exciting to have community sport returning and we look forward to seeing our players and their families back at the den as we host the Tyntynder FNC.

Our amazing list of sponsors, thank you for your support last season to keep our club ticking over, and to go again this season as we enter back into a season proper! The generosity and support is very humbling, we look forward to advertising and supporting your company through these times in return.

It seems like a lifetime ago that we were all together celebrating the 2019 A Grade and Senior football premierships, and now its time to get back to business and defend our titles. A lot has changed over the last 18 months. The tiger baby factory went out of control, with 17 babies and still 4 more on the way! There were also 3 weddings and we have 2 engagements as well! Covid was a busy time! Welcome to all our new and returning players today and your families. We trust that you will enjoy your time at Tigerland and create lifelong memories and friends! Craig Threadgold again is President, and what a job he does, the power of work behind the scenes through the COVID situation was remarkable, and everyone should thank him for his work, and his trusty assistant Greta! Thank you to all the members who have given up their time to be a volunteer this year, it is crazy the numbers that is required every Saturday to simply allow the players the opportunity to play. We encourage all parents and family members to be active, get involved and find a way

Thank you to the Football Department and Netball Committee who have organised everything behind the scenes in readiness for today. To all the coaches that have jumped on to lead the club, we trust that you will be supported and enjoy your time as a coach and hope that there is some success at the pointy end of the season! The 200 club is officially locked in, (great words for the 200 club with the wheels Franky Costa!!) Our exclusive club generates a steady income for the club that allows us to run a raffle free club which takes a lot of pressure off our fundraising! Who will win the $10,000 this season! The Woorinen FNC would like to wish all the other clubs a successful season on and off the field/courts, make sure we all support each other and enjoy that country community atmosphere that only country sport can deliver! I truly am excited to see everyone back at Tigerland! Have a great day

GO TIGERS!!

SEASON PREVIEW G O L D E N R I V E RS HAY

MOULAMEIN

The Hay Lions played finals football in 2019 but ultimately came up short against Wandella at Moulamein in the elimination final.

The Swans were unlucky to not play finals in 2019 after missing out by just percentage but face a large challenge after key personnel left this season including both coaches & league B&F winner Tom Isma.

League Best & Fairest Jackson Ferguson returns to the lion’s den and will hope to lead the Lions to another finals berth in 2021. Coach Lachie Cohen is pleased with the hard work that his players have put in over the preseason and is hopeful it’ll launch them into a big year. Hay make a big trip to Macorna to start their year off. Coach: Lachie Cohen Player to Watch: Jackson Ferguson

MACORNA Macorna endured a difficult year in 2019 after failing to win a game all season. New coach Jaydon Stiles has arrived with a big task of turning the senior team around in 2021, Jaydon himself is a gun forward with a strong football resume. Other key additions to the tigers include Charlie Hinks, Matt Hinks & the Achison brothers, Dylan & Nathan. Charlie loves to compete and with his size, fitness and athletic ability he can play anywhere from the ruck, on ball or full back. Matt is an agile left-footer who will bring a lot of pace to the Macorna backline. While both the Achison brothers are tough inside midfielders who use the ball well by foot. These additions should see Macorna becoming a more competitive team in 2021. The Tigers open their season against Hay at home. Coach: Jaydon Stiles

L & NE AL B

ALL TB

FOOT

Player to Watch: Matt Hinks

Heath Moloney has been appointed the coach this season, Heath brings a wealth of experience to the club after playing in both the NTFL & Warnambool leagues. Daniel Aarsman is a talented hard-running footballer from the Chelsea Seagulls that can play all around the ground. The Swans will face a few challenges throughout the season but with a few new faces around the club, it will keep the Moulamein faithful optimistic of a good season. Moulamein opens up their season against Wandella at Wandella. Coach: Heath Moloney Player to Watch: James White

MURRABIT The Murrabit Football club has Leigh Millard & Michael O’Toole to be the 2021 senior football coaches. Leigh comes back to the football club with a wealth of experience developed playing football for Rochester in the Goulbourn Valley league. I’m sure that Blues supporters will be pleased to see him back at Murrabit. After missing out on finals in 2019, the blues will be working hard to position themselves in the top 4 this year. New additions to the club include a couple of former Koondrook Barham players Michael Grant, Kyle Keane & Aaron Danson. Michael Grant is a hard running and athletic defender who looks to create from the back half. Kyle Keane is a skilful player that can play all over the ground while Aaron Danson is a hard runner that is relentless in his attack on the football.

SEASON PREVIEW G O L D E N R I V E RS Toby Gray from the Heathcote District FNL is another good pickup for Murrabit. Toby is a great user of the footy out of the back half and a capable one on one defender Murrabit host Ultima at home this weekend. Coach: Leigh Millard/Michael O’Toole Player to Watch: Marc O’Neil

NULLAWIL The story of the GRFNL season in 2021 will be can Nullawil get the three-peat? The playing list has had a large turnover since we last saw them but coach Kyle Doran is excited about the opportunities that will present for the younger players. The recruits coming into the club this year are Dean Putt, Mitch Barry, Andrew Casey, Matt Quigley & Josh Bamford. The club isn’t shy about its goals for the 2021 season openly stating its wish to be a strong & successful club across all grades, hopefully resulting in a premiership or two. Nullawil will open the season as the favourite to win it all once again, the reigning premiers start their season against Quambatook at home Coach: Kyle Doran Player to Watch: Zack Kelly

QUAMBATOOK Coach Tim Free has a big job this year as coach of Quambatook. In 2019 the Saints only managed to have two wins for the year, hopefully, they can be more successful in 2021. The Saints do have some very exciting and talented players in Gregor Knight, Dylan Pascoe & Ricky Wild. Quambatook will always put a lot of effort into their game & are as tough as any side in the competition. Quambatook travels to Nullawil this weekend.

ULTIMA Will this be the year that Ultima wins the big one? After finishing as runner ups the past couple of years coaches Kyle Symons & Brodie Bennett will be looking to get the most out of their list. The additions of Rhys Boynton, Sean Bedgood, Jack Delmenico, Lachlan Leach and Brendan Sacilotto Simon Makur, Ryan Devereux, Jackson Bishop, Adam Hunter, Lachie Paull, Ben Buxton and Bayden Grey will provide the club with an influx of talent and depth to a list that has had a few players leave since 2019. As always you can expect Ultima to be a very wellcoached and competitive unit that will push itself into the top echelon of the GRFNL. Coach: Kyle Symons/ Brodie Bennett Player to Watch: Tom Bull

WANDELLA Wandella fell agonizingly short of reaching the 2019 Grand Final & since then have undergone a list transformation. Since 2019 the Wandella Football Club have lost 9-10 senior players but have replaced them with Will Callow, Michael Condidorio, Mitch Treacy, Logan Keighran & James Flack from Mildura along with Darren Rushton from Woorinen. Bombers faithful would be excited to see ex premiership players Sam Sperling and Matt Wilkinson return. Coach Sam Taylor is excited to be taking over as coach in 2021 with the teams main goal to field competitive sides in all grades and just enjoy football/ netball and the club atmosphere again, something that all football fans can relate with. MACORNA TIGERS A P R I L 1 7 VS H AY Yay! Finally we can say welcome back to Macorna. Winter sport can return after a long pre season and people should flock to see family and friends enjoying their football and netball. Our volunteers have put huge hours in since we last played so thanks to all for their efforts. Our facilities are ready for a big crowd and the footy oval has never looked so good. Jaydon Stiles is our new Senior Football Coach, he is a gun forward that enjoys his footy and has also put plenty of time into our young and exciting new list. Rookie, Longy, Tim and Tonks are all coaching again, they are all optimistic about a great season ahead. Tiff Bartram is our newly appointed Senior Netball Coach, along with Kylie, Holly, Cat, Laura, Kara, Maddi, Jacinta and Taylah. Our netballers have had an excellent preseason with excellent numbers and an exciting atmosphere. Good luck to all wearing the Yellow and Black this year at Macorna! We wish every club in the league all the best for the season ahead.

UP THE TIGES!

Best Wishes, Greg Whinfield

MURRABIT A P R I L 1 7 VS U LT I M A Well what a year that has just past, finally we are able to get back into some footy and netball. Over the last year we have still been busy when and where we can around the footy club. We have been successful in securing funding through Sports Rec Victoria and the Gannawarra Shire for a new netball change room/umpire rooms to be built on the north end of the building, this will incorporate an upgrade to the existing netball rooms as well. We are very excited for this to be happening later in the season. We have also been busy with ground maintenance engaging with NuTurf to complete a verti drain and over sow of the surface, as you can see the ground is looking in top shape for the 2021 season. In March we held our annual fishing competition which was sadly cancelled at the last minute in 2020, this year was a huge success with 300 competitors and nearly 40 kids entered. While the rain put a bit of a dampner on the Sunday the rest of the weekend was enjoyed by all. Thankyou to all our volunteers who helped over the weekend and in the lead up with preparations, we couldn’t do it without you. We were lucky enough to secure all our coaches from the 2020 season with Mick O’Toole and Leigh Millard coaching the seniors, Nick Hein with the reserves, Brent McKnight and Danny Nethercote with the U17’s and Peter McDonald coaching the U14’s, all the coaches and players have been busy preparing for this day.

We have also moved online with our memberships and merchandise, these can be purchased at murrabitfc.tidyhq.com. This is to make it easier for members to purchase these items any where any time. Jump on and have a look. Today we play Ultima which is always a tough task in all grades, good luck to all our teams competing today. We wish all teams and clubs the best for 2021.

GO BLUES. Netball

We are all very excited to get back out on court after the COVID layoff – we have had strong numbers at preseason trainings and the girls have been putting in the hard work. We were lucky enough to retain our coaches from the start of 2020 with Steph Reeves leading the A grade side who would really like to improve on their 2019 finish. We would like to extend a big welcome to new recruits Chloe Adams and Elly Bookham who join our A squad this year. Jenny Nethercote will be in charge of the B grade with Lisa Morrow continuing with the B reserve. Our juniors will be coached by Erica Cummins (U17), Jess Bray (U14) and Angela Morton (U12) with Ashea Bujdoso taking our net set go girls on Thursday nights. Well done to our juniors who have made the interleague teams – Jessie Teasdale, Mila Bray, Imogen Cummins, Belle Morton, Evie McKnight as well as Erica Cummins who is coaching the under 15 side. Best of luck to all players in their return to the court today. Go blues.

ULTIMA A P R I L 1 7 VS M U R R A B I T Welcome again one and all to season 2021, it’s been a long time coming and we are finally ready to kick the season off at Murrabit against the Blue’s,

Our Reserves have had a few changes from last year’s side with a few leaving and a few coming in. Frosty and Tooley are confident the 2’s will be the big improvers.

This year we have Brodie Bennett and Kyle Symons coaching the Seniors. The remaining coaching line up is Corey Frost & Luke O’Toole (Reserves) with Warwick Grey back (Under 17.5’s) Nathan Condely coaching the U14.5’s.

The preseason started in January with Brodie and Kyle getting back to basics working on skills and fitness to get us to a point where we are in a position today to hopefully have a good win and show our critics that we mean business in 2021.

We welcome some new faces to our club, Rhys Boynton, Sean Bedgood, Jack Delmenico, Lachlan Leach and Brendan Sacilotto. We welcome back some old faces in Simon Makur, Ryan Devereux, Jackson Bishop, Adam Hunter, Lachie Paull, Ben Buxton and Bayden Grey. Nathan and the U14.5s will kick the day off, once again numbers are good and it will be good to see the Mini’s get out and enjoy their day. Warwick and the U17.5s are keen to get things rolling after an 18 months off.

It is great to see all of our blue ribbon and individual grade sponsors have continued their support for season 2021, with a lot of new sponsors getting onboard. Tonight will be our annual rotating dinner, well done to the social committee for getting things started. All that’s left to do now is blow the siren and kick off the season with 4 wins!

GO ROOS, ROO BOY.

NULLAWIL A P R I L 1 7 VS Q UA M BATO O K The 2019 season followed on from an extremely successful 2018, when all Nullawil netball and football teams made the finals and 6 of the 7 Grand Final teams won Premierships. Riding on the wave of success, 2019 was another successful year for the club with all teams once again making it to the finals. 7 teams progressed to the Grand Final, with Nullawil taking home back to back Seniors Football Premierships and A-Grade, B-Reserve and 14&U Netball Premierships. =2019 NFC President was Wade Humphreys; Vice President Jarrod Kemp; Junior Vice Presidents Heath Pollington and Glenn Smith; Secretary Lauren Hogan and Treasurer Glenn Hogan. The General Committee consisted of Darren Barker, Reece Poyner, Brett Barker, Grant Kelly, Tom Fawcett, Shane Barker, Steve Cooper, Jason Perry, Colin Fawcett and Daniel Watts. Peter R. Hogan stepped down from the committee after stints totalling 26 years. Kyle Doran took on the senior coaching role this year, following the footsteps of his father Tony, 31 years earlier. Daniel Watts was Senior Captain with Brett Barker Vice Captain. Jeremy Vearing was Captain/ Coach of the Reserves and Matt Poyner Vice Captain. Daniel Watts and Brett Barker coached the Under 17.5’s, with Jordan Humphreys as Captain and Angus Forrester Vice Captain. David Watts once again took charge of the Under 14.5’s. Jordy Humphreys and Rylee Smith conducted the Auskick program. Heath Pollington, Scott Mathiske, and Kyle Doran formed the Selection Committee.

At the end of the Home and Away season the Seniors finished 2nd; Reserves finished 4th; U/17.5’s finished on top of the ladder and the U14.5’s finished in 3 rd place. The Reserves were eliminated in the 1st Semi Final; the U/14.5’s in the Prelim and the U/17.5’s and Seniors made it to the Grand Final. In a game of two halves, the Nullawil Seniors took home the 2019 GRFL Premiership Cup =The netballers did it again, with 5 out of 5 teams in the Grand Final for the third year in a row. A netball club photo with all players included was taken on the final training night. The 2019 Nullawil Netball Club Committee was Gail Smith (President), Simone Fawcett (Vice President), Melissa Gilchrist (Secretary), Shelley James (Treasurer) and Di Sheahan (Score Secretary and League Umpire Coordinator). Kellie Walker was the scribe doing the weekly netball writeups. The A and B Grade Team trained as one squad and were coached by Emma Smith. The B-Reserve were coached by Lauren Hogan; the 17&U team by Veronica Doran and Lauren Hogan; the14&U by Simone Fawcett, and Brydie Kelly once again coached the 12 & Under (F-Troopers). Captains of the netball teams were Lauren Hogan A Grade; Rachael Smith B Grade and Amy Smith B Reserve; Ella Sheahan 17&U and Sophie Kemp 14&U. =3 of the 5 netball teams were victorious with the A-Grade, B-Reserve and 14&U becoming the 2019 GRFNL PREMIERS.The A-Grade defeated crowd favourites Moulamein in the Grand Final in a nail-biting finish with a 2-goal victory, making it 4 in a row. The B-Reserve Team enjoyed ultimate success when they had a win against Murrabit in the Grand Final to become the 2019 Premiership team. And that’s 5 in a row.

QUAMBATOOK A P R I L 1 7 VS N U L L AW I L Quambatook Football and Netball Clubs is thrilled to be involved in this years Golden Rivers competition. Following the year that was 2020, we would like to formally welcome our committees for both clubs: Quambatook Football Club:

You may notice a side missing here and there, however Quambatook remains determined to participate competitively; while maintaining a strong family friendly atmosphere and ensuring individuals have access and are encouraged to be involved in organised sport. In preparation for the season, our teams have been diligently training with outstanding numbers on weeknights. Players competed in a practice match against Charlton in March with both football and netball playing six quarters. The day allowed players the opportunity to play together, with small adjustments to positions made to find our ‘best fit’. Unlike some years the heat wasn’t totally overbearing and minimal injuries were encountered - always a plus! The day was considered a great success and we thank Charlton for hosting us at their fantastic facilities.

A comment from B Grade netball coach Holly Tuohey -

Secretary: Marley Meade

“Finally we can get back on the netball court for what should be a great season! We would love to welcome all new and returning players for the year and wish everyone a successful year both on and off the court.”

As we all know, our committees do the ground work but it truly is our coaches that bring it all together. For 2021, we welcome the following coaches to our Clubs: Quambatook Football Club Seniors: Tim Free and Gregor Knight Reserves: Rhys Carmichael U14s: Tobie Cameron and Jonty Taylor Auskick: Craig Thomas Quambatook Netball Club B Grade: Holly Tuohey B Reserve: Emily Sinclair U12s: Amber Wood

We encourage those interested in the Club to follow our Facebook page ‘Quambatook Football and Netball Club’ to stay up-to-date with this years activities. We have plenty going on socially including pub nights, the ‘olympics’, the ‘races’ and the long awaited return of the shearing shed ball! We might be biased but we believe it is going to be a fantastic year... Quambatook Football and Netball Club would like to do a shout out to all our sponsors and volunteers who have helped get the Club back on its feet after our year off. The commitment to our Club is appreciated by all and we wouldn’t be here without you. Let 2021 begin!

WANDELLA A P R I L 1 7 VS M OU L A M E I N Welcome to Bomberland for season 2021. Last year seems like a bad and very strange dream but here we are out the other side and things are looking positive for a great year. It seemed we would find it hard to find the enthusiasm for a return to footy and netball but the Wandella family has rallied and we are enjoying being together again. There are plenty of new faces across all teams and we welcome all new and returning players. Please take the time to introduce yourselves to any new players or supporters and make them feel welcome. The Committee has a new look with a new structure to share the workload across more members and it is working well. The areas of responsibility are outlined in the newsletter Dani has put together so if you have queries about anything there is someone specific you can speak to. Thanks to the tireless work of Leigh Hollingworth our sponsorship has gone from strength to strength. Thanks, Leigh, for your hard work. The sponsors will be promoted weekly and we ask all members to familiarise yourselves with who they are and support those who support us! Dani has been working hard on the merchandise side of things and there are great items to purchase to show your support for the Bombers. Dani has also been busy with our social media presence so follow along and you will get plenty of info throughout the season. Kellie, Brooke and Georga are keeping the netball running smoothly and have secured great coaches to lead the girls

in 2021. Georga is also our COVID coordinator and has put relevant signage around the club. Please be aware that we have strict guidelines to comply with and if we all cooperate it will make things much easier for Georga. The bar is being looked after by Ned this year and if you have an RSA, or are willing to get one, your help will be appreciated. Pav and Kim will be our caterers and along with their committee will be looking for willing helpers. We are looking forward to great meals. The newly installed commercial dishwasher will make cleaning up much easier as well. Thanks Kim! The grounds and facilities have been presented well by Harold and Freddo. Harold and Horace also contributed plenty of work in the off season with the installation of the new pipeline to supply our dam. The football recruiting and coaching is being looked after by Dicko, Rocky and Tim and they have done a great job securing quality players and coaches. Tim is our coaching coordinator and the go-to man for anything tech related and will help with promotion of sponsors. Crello is our functions organiser and has some great plans for the season to cater for all age groups so stay around and support when you can. And last but not least Horace is again in charge of finances and memberships with help from Freddie. Great to see so many sign ups last week. Please get your memberships paid ASAP to make their job easier. Thanks to everyone who has worked hard to get us ready for the season. Looking forward to a ripper year and so happy we are all able to be back together again.

MOULAMEIN A P R I L 1 7 VS WA N D E L L A Moulamein FNC welcomes everyone back to footy in 2021. Thankyou to our sponsors and everyone who has made the effort to keep our club going. Besides Covid-19 the biggest challenge facing our club was the huge player movement prior to this season and the potential merger being talked about last year. Thankyou to the clubs who sent letters of support and Swan Hill for being open to discussion. Ultimately the community and club opted to continue as Moulamein FNC going forward. With a large contingent of junior’s into the future the potential is there if we can keep the club going.

During pre-season we had an average of 24 people on the training track each week and there are of lot of juniors coming up through the ranks. With every grade filled our club is very viable into the future. Although faces change around the club, there is no doubt that Moulamein will be around well into the future. Moulamein FNC is there for our community, it keeps the town alive and gives the kids an opportunity to better themselves & be active in their community. Matchday gives the locals an opportunity to get together and most importantly keeps the social identity of Moulamein alive. Rowdy
