Press Release: Book Launch: Xing Yi (Hsing I) Kung Fu for Success New book on Xing Yi (Hsing I) Kung Fu sheds new light on internal power and personal achievement Singapore, Singapore – September 30th, 2014 – A new book on Xingyiquan (Hsing I Ch’uan) has just been released, and this new book will change the way readers view Chinese internal martial arts. Entitled ‘Xing Yi (Hsing I) Kung Fu for Success: The Philosophy of Internal Power and Personal Achievement’, this book is an introduction to what Xingyiquan is all about, and the achievementbuilding benefits it can accrue to any student who engages in its practice. Unlike other books written on the same topic, Xing Yi (Hsing I) Kung Fu for Success does not strive to be a manual from which you can learn the martial art from. Instead, it is written with a specific focus on its unique characteristics, its glorious history and the interesting people behind it. When asked about his motivations for writing this book, Lin-Cher Lee, copywriter, author and founder of RedWordTree Pte Ltd – a books and alternative media agency based in Singapore – had this to say: “The general public has a mistaken notion that internal martial arts are slow and boring. I am glad to say that Xingyiquan is anything but that. As someone who has benefited from the practice, I feel the responsibility of bringing to light the wonders of this system, and how anyone – whether young or old – can reap great physical and psychological rewards from learning this wonderful combat form.” The 144-page book, excluding front matter, is packed with black and white illustrations of the major components of this martial system. Written in a humorous and sometimes irreverent manner, readers would be brought back to an ancient past where masters were nasty, brawls were common and how sometimes, wisdom can only be achieved through the passage of time.
