There’s been a lot of progression by everyone.” said captain Ian Kron. After running against several 4-A schools, this season the Regals are confident going forward.

The season started on August 2nd, and the first meet of the year was the September 4th Bob Brown Invitational. The meet was a success, as most of the team earned personal records. came to run. Due to the smaller size of the team, the Regals did not place well, but again personal records were set. Some members of the team stepped up and ran varsity, due to injuries. The next courses the Regals faced were some of the most difficult; at the top of the list was Cascade’s course. The team ran against primarily 4-A schools. “The hard courses and tough competition really help the team,” said Head Coach Chad Swope “I know that no other 1-A team has faced as tough of a competition as we have.”
Going into the postseason, the Regals are feeling confident. “They [the team] have a great opportunity here. They’ve just gotta get out and race.” said Swope. We’ll just have to see what from Minnesota, Illinois, and Iowa happens from here.” said Kron.

With the championship season coming up, the girls team is more determined than ever. “We have had a great season so far, with a lot of girls contributing. Everyone is dropping time and improving, as we head into the championship season. We look forward to a great finish!”, captain Jacqueline Rapp said. The team has been preparing for this season all summer. “They have put in the work, everything else will just take care of itself. Our team has a lot of depth and that’s what makes us special.”said Coach Chape Swope. The Regals have eight return-

ing members from the 2013 State team and want to return to Fort Dodge this year. “I’m really happy with how the season has gone so far. I really think we have a great group of hardworking girls this year and we have a really good chance of doing great things!”, said Adriana Kammerer. The Regals will run on Thursday, October 23 at Solon in the State qualifying meet. The top three teams and top ten individuals will qualify for the State meet, which is held in Fort Dodge on November 1st. As a member of the cross country team, the support of our classmates and teachers means a lot and we would love to see you all out there!
