Make-A-Wish NAC Key Clubbers recently volunteered at the Make A Wish booth in the Mall helping to collect $972 in donations. NAC Builders Club and Key Club members also collected $251.65 in donations for Make A Wish during home basketball games and lunch periods. That's a total of $1,223.65 in donations and 40 community service hours by members!

Lil Shoppers For the past five years, NAC Key Clubbes have collected donations of new or gently used items and created a Lil Shoppers store for elementary students to shop for their families for Christmas - each item is only 25 cents. Key Club members help set up the store and help bag and tag the gifts. We are open for 3-4 days prior to Christmas vacation. All the students get very excited and love "shopping" for their family members.

Food Drive NAC Key CLub met, and even exceeded, the food drive goal of 260 pounds. The Elementary School collected 171 pounds and the Middle/High School collected 287 pounds for a District Wide total of 458 pounds of food for our local food banks. Key Club sorted the items from the drive. The 3 food banks that serve our school district each received 5 boxes of food (not completely filled, to make transporting easier)!

Food Drive (Division 10) Throughout the month of December, Staten Island Technical High School Key Club held a club wide food drive! Through the combined efforts of members and officers alike, our club raised over 400 cans of food and many other assorted non-perishable food items! Collection for the food drive began early December and continued to the end of the month. We encouraged members to donate canned goods and other kinds of non-perishable food in order to assist those who were (and still are) directly impacted by the pandemic. The food bank we chose to support was City Harvest, an organization dedicated to the collection and redistribution of food to the unfortunate residents of New York City. Our original goal was 100 pounds of food to be collected, but evidently we surpassed our goal more than 4 times! With a grand total of 427 nonperishable food items - which equates to roughly 401 pounds of donations - we broke both our standard goal and stretch goal of 200 items, just in time for the holidays and the New Year. Thanks to the countless donations from members and officers alike, we were able to pass our goal with flying colors. City Harvest will be collecting our donations at the beginning of January once school gets back in session and we are extremely content with the success of the Staten Island Tech. Food Drive. We hope to keep this momentum and kick off 2022 even stronger! - Justin Zhou President, Staten Island Technical School

DISTRICT ENDORSED PROJECT The Kiwanis Pediatric Lyme Disease Foundation was created in the 20002001 service year. Lyme Disease is caused by the bacteria found in deer ticks. The faster the treatment, the lower possibility of longer symptoms. Many insurance companies do not pay for treatment, so the KPLDF works hard to help lower the cost. For more information click here.

HYDRATE FOR 28 IfThirst Project's 28 day hydration challenge--HYDRATE FOR 28!! Because hydration is key! For more information click here.

In 2020, we were tested unlike ever before! We were told to stay indoors and wash our hands, but rarely to hydrate. At Thirst Project, we know how important it is to have access to clean water, but we also know how important it is to drink clean water on a consistent basis. This year, we're teaming up with Key Club International to highlight the importance of hydration.
