ADIRONDACK ANNOUNCEMENTS DIVISION FOURTEEN'S OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

Written By: Chloe Baker, Lieutenant Governor

A NOTE FROM ME ~ YOUR LTG Hello Division 14! Although the school year has been off to a rocky start, I would like to express how deeply proud I am of our division. We have done quite a bit of social distance service since this summer. We have single handedly completed over 50% of our division's fundraising goal with just the Charity Miles competition during the summer. NYDKC has also made some great progress on our goals. For closer numbers, make sure to look on page 11. Our service hours are a bit behind, but we are currently in the midst of our Free Rice event, which can be

found on page 5 of this newsletter. Please encourage your officers to fill out their MRFs and FRFs to receive this credit. Another important update on page 5 is information regarding our Fall Divisional on October 29th. Please encourage as many members as you can to attend, for I would love to know each and every one of you. Along with our Fall Divisional, there is also a virtual Fall Conference in November! Unfortunately, most of you could not attend due to trek to Albany. This year, you can attend from your own bedroom. If you have any questions, feel free to be in touch. Also, don't forget to help your communities! Caring - It's Our Way of Life!

Yours in Service, Chloe Baker Division 14 Lieutenant Governor

TRIVIA TURNED INTO RICE This fall, Division 14 is hosting a joint service event via the app, Free Rice. It is a trivia app that donates rice to the World Food Program (WFP) for every question you answer correctly. Key Clubbers from across the division are in a joined team to collect “grains of rice.” I personally enjoy the app because it’s a simple service project just on your phone. You can rack up points just from remembering your multiplication tables, COVID-19 basic facts, and everything in between. The app also allows you to choose the difficulty of the questions, so you can challenge your skills or fly through the questions like a breeze. There is also a leaderboard within the group, and worldwide. Fun Fact: a Key Club in New York City is one of the highestscoring groups on the app! I am excited to get more into this app and test my knowledge of random facts. The best part is that these trivia questions all lead back to feeding people in need of their basic necessities!! - Eliza Strum Member, Ticonderoga High School Division 14 August Newsletter ~ Page 8
