PANAMANIAN PARADISE BY SHADI BAS
Panama sits at the junction of North and South America. Blissful blue beaches and contemporary infrastructure make Panama the ideal destination for travelers who want the best of both worlds. Panama is known for its famous canal, coffee farms, and endless tropical forests. It is the only country in the world which allows you to watch the sun rise on the Pacific Ocean, and set on the Atlantic Ocean. The American Trade Hotel is located in Casco Viejo, a ten minute drive from Panama City. Open since the Fall of 2013, the hotel is the perfect embodiment of the historic district, fused with the convenience of modern luxuries. Whether you want to relax in the outdoor pool or enjoy a drink in The Lobby Bar, The American Trade Hotel offers a wide range of amenities that allow you to make the most of your stay.

A PERFECT DRESS REAL EXPERIENCE, REAL PEOPLE
BY EMILY KLINE | PHOTOGRAPHY BY XANG PHOTOGRAPHY
W
edding dress shopping can be stressful for any woman, even
if she knows what she is looking for. Most of the time, the dress that a bride has in mind is not what looks best on her body type. There are countless bridal shops lined with an assortment of gowns to choose from. But have you ever thought to go custom? Custom gowns are growing more popular these days, in where you work one- on- one with a designer of your choice to get that magical masterpiece you have always dreamed of. Tatyana Merenyuk designs custom wedding dresses. Originally from the Ukraine, Tatyana moved to the United States in her early teens. She was always looking for a creative outlook, and needed something different as she knew that a nine-tofive gig was not for her.

She knew that fashion and design
LEISURE
were her callings when she tried sewing. “I fell in love with creating designs and bringing them to life. I knew that it was natural, and that nothing was forced. It made me happy and I knew this was for me”, says Tatyana. Flattering feminine designs that have a classic flow tend to be Tatyana’s signature style. Her designs have an organic and natural feel to them. She likes her clients to standout, and to feel comfortable in what they wear. Tatyana goes on to say that she gets inspiration from movies, “I am a huge movie fan, especially the costumes found in older movies”. Brides tend to get a bad reputation for being hard to work with. Sometimes it is not easy working with a bride to design a piece that she has been dreaming of for years. Tatyana shrugs it off by saying, “I do my best to make all of my brides feel gorgeous and happy. Everyone has different body types, likes, and dislikes, and it is not easy but in the end the work is very rewarding”. Tatyana’s gowns start at $1,495. She speaks the truth and will help you make the best choice for you and your body type. Tatyana concludes by saying, “I want to showcase the body and the beautiful lady that is wearing the dress. Movement, beauty, and that natural, effortless look are what is important in the end. “A dress should not enhance the woman; the woman should enhance the dress”. anadian born actress Anna Silk, currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Anna began acting at the age of six. She took an interest in acting at such a young
age due to her mother being a stage director. Anna has starred in hit television shows like “Being Erica” and “Ghost Whisperer”. But her most famous role is on “Lost Girl”, where she plays the lead role of charismatic Bo, a supernatural being. Anna answered some of our questions, so we can get to know this Canadian actress on a personal level.

IS IT TIME TO GO? BY ROXANE TRUDEL
So the holiday season is behind us and chances are you have already broken your New Year’s resolutions - don’t sweat it, we did too. Now, brace yourselves as January, already in no competition for the Worst Month of the Year award, is also known as National Break-up Month. I have to admit, there is no other month like January. Spring is the embodiment of fresh new flirt, which grows to the level of summer fling by the time July comes around, and before you know it, you’re all wrapped up in a full-fledge relationship. Then, we hold on to our partners like we hold on to the Indian Summer of September. And let’s not forget November, home to the first cold nights, where you will want someone to keep you warm and finally, if you ’are somewhat of a decent partner, you won’t leave your lover in December, right before the festive season. Plus, we all secretly want that gift. Therefore, January, by default, gives you just enough time post-holidays and pre-valentine’s day to make that insensitive move. It’s pretty much your breakup window. That being said, I’m convinced the high rate of breakups are not solely due to the month of the year, a part of it must be circumstantial. Many six month long relationships are the ones most likely to end in January. It’s a time of introspection and new beginnings, and that summer fling might have become the anchor keeping you from growing into your own wonderful self. You are left wondering if it ’is just a phase and if you will fall in love all over again, or you wondering if no matter the love you feel for that person, you might just not love the relationship. No one has the ultimate answer, and I don’t pretend to. I can only say that for me it has come down to this: do not define yourself through your relationship. You are somebody in this relationship, not a role, not a persona. If you end up single, put a band-aid on your heart and cheer up at the thought of all the very eligible bachelors that just entered the market at the same time as you. Dry your tears and smack some lipstick on; Spring is just around the corner! Now that I think of it, January should probably be named National Singles Month.
