Newcastle’s beautiful and historical Tyne Theatre & Opera House was one of seven projects across the UK, awarded funding from the Theatre Improvement Scheme Improving Accessibility grants, in partnership with the Wolfson Foundation. As a city, we’re incredibly proud to say the Tyne Theatre & Opera House on Westgate Road is one of the few Grade I Listed theatres in the country - a real Victorian gem, owned and operated by the Preservation Trust. Thanks to this grant, the theatre will carry out several works to improve accessibility and the experience of disabled audience members.
