“A Better World” Foundation Volunteer programs are in a real development in Romania, the need being increased by the reduced level of sponsorships and the commitment of people that want to be involved in actions from which a concrete benefit results. This year, the Foundation launched its first ever volunteer program, carried out according to the legislation in force. The entire program generated an enthusiastic response and we greatly appreciate your willingness to take the time to lend a helping hand. So, please bear in mind that, starting with July 2009, the following projects are available:
Volunteer Projects for the Summer 1. IOMC (The Institute for Mother and Child Protection): Happy First Steps A child needs care and attention from the very first step that he takes. A Better World Foundation is working in partnership with the Institute for Mother and Child Protection, home for 20 babies between the ages of 0-2 that are abandoned in the maternity by their own families, in order to guarantee a little protection and love. As a volunteer you can help the Institute in taking good care of a baby through feeding, bathing, carrying and, also, talking and playing with him. This program requires for you to take a maximum of 3 hours per week from your spare time in order to help a
2. Mia’s Children: A Future for Our Children Mia’s Association is a foster centre that aims to prevent child abandon by the families with financial, social and psychological difficulties. Mia’s house is opened 7 days per week and provides daily meals, clothes, educational programs, psychological assistance.
