fter far too many seasons of cancelations, reschedules, scaling back, paring down and so much uncertainty, weddings are back and they are bigger and better than ever. It is indeed the Year of the Wedding and we are thrilled to celebrate with you. We learned so many lessons during the pandemic that will undoubtedly stick with us and continue to influence how weddings are planned. For example, we love the resultant intimate affairs that are high on experiential elements, details and technology enabling loved ones from afar who can’t attend to share in the fun. As pandemic precautions loosen however, we are excited to get back to fanciful food stations, maximal décor, high-energy dance parties and wilder-than-ever after parties. In our more-is-more fashion spread, set at the lush Pontchartrain Hotel on St. Charles Avenue, we are sounding the horn on multi-day fêtes with any and every opportunity for a wardrobe change and an even greater attention to detail when it comes to ways to impress your guests. In so many words, over-the-top is trending — and we are here for it. Whether you go big and bold or sweet and petite, you’ll find everything you need to create your dream day (or days) in this issue. As always, we’re honored to be part of your celebrations, in good times and in bad. But we are especially happy that now the days are mostly the former again and we are ready to let the good times roll! Cheers!

Celebrities put their reputations on the line with performance skincare products BY MIRELLA CAMERAN
Heavy stage makeup and grueling schedules take their toll on your skin and actresses and stars in the spotlight, who often find themselves promoting brands, are increasingly taking matters into their own hands. By using their own experiences, they are creating products they want to wear, that will work for them and insisting on effective formulations which will enhance their reputations as well as their earning capacities.
The Outset Restorative Niacinamide night Cream Voted one of the most beautiful women in the world, Scarlett Johansson spent five years studying before launching her own range. Another clean line, her night cream combines hero ingredients niacinamide, bakuchiol and evening primrose oil to replenish moisture and smooth skin.
Olivia Palermo Beauty Pre-Show Mattifying Mist As a career socialite and influencer, Olivia Palermo is a professional in front of the camera. She has now shared some of her secrets for looking good through the lens in her new beauty line. A hot pick among editors is her face mist which can be applied before or after makeup for prolonged perfect looks.
Kora Organics Milky Mushroom Gentle Cleansing Oil Another option for clean, certified organic products, this melts away makeup while nourishing your skin with a rich source of essential fatty acids. A multi-award winning product, brand owner, and supermodel Miranda Kerr probably does really use it herself.
JLo Beauty That Limitless Glow Sheet Mask JLo had been dreaming up her line for 20 years and when it finally arrived, it didn’t disappoint. Her Olive Complex is a proprietary blend of stable ingredients which promote deep hydration, luminous brightness and smooth baby soft skin. Finally, JLo’s glow might be within reach.
Know Beauty Hydrating Lip Mask When actress Vanessa Hudgens and singer Madison Beer created Know Beauty they teamed up with a dermatologist to create personalized products based on your DNA through a home testing kit. Shea butter, vitamins C & E, beeswax and sunflower seeds are the powerful ingredients for this lip mask which we think is a fit for everyone.

Mane Attraction Stars share their haircare secrets BY MIRELLA CAMERAN
Given that celebrities can afford and choose any brand they wish, it is worth taking note of the brands they gravitate towards, especially when they never seem to have a bad hair day. Some of them are even coming up with their own formulations so they can have exactly what they want and then share it with the rest of us.
Kiehl’s Creme with Silk Groom Now one of the most photographed women in the world, Kate Middleton relies on this non-greasy cream to keep her hair lustrous, shiny and manageable. Color WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Spray A mini keratin treatment in a bottle, the effects of this anti-frizz spray last up to 72 hours or two to three shampoos. It uses a heat-activated super sealant and Hoda Kotb is just one of its many high-profile admirers.

Anomaly Hydrating Shampoo Priyanka Chopra Jonas stated her intention when venturing into the haircare space was to create a product which is an “amazingly sustainable ... superior product for a very affordable cost.” Exclusively available at Target, the line and this nourishing shampoo is already creating buzz.
Lolavie Perfecting Leave-In When you have had arguably the most famous haircut in the world and your hairstyles are the most copied (so hairdressers say), you have the perfect platform to launch your own brand. Jennifer Aniston does not disappoint with her Lolavie new clean, green line. The already award-winning leave-in conditioner includes a vegan thermal shield to protect from humidity.
Ouai Soft Mousse As the ‘80s roar back into fashion, mousse is getting a second chance. This time the sticky crunch has been replaced by soft volume and texture and this brand is the head of the pack with the likes of the Hadid sisters.
Sally Hershberger 24K Supreme Stylist Voluminous Dry Shampoo This celebrity favorite includes actual 24K gold but there’s no weight to this airy spray which leaves no residue, just bouncy, full locks that also smell good.
Moroccanoil Treatment Light A multi-purpose product, celebrities swear by its powerful ability to detangle, renourish and leave locks with supernatural shine. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley says a few drops is all you need.
Flawles Hydrating Co-Wash Cleaning Hair Conditioner Created with celebrity hairstylist Larry Sims, Gabrielle Union wanted to offer high quality and affordability for all types of diverse hair. Her conditioner does double duty releasing dirt and nourishing with Brazilian bacuri butter and moringa oil. IGK Beach Club Volume Texture Spray Hailey Beiber appears picture perfect every time she steps out of the house — one of her secrets is this texturing spray which she uses to thicken her hair and add body.
Pattern treatment mask Tracee Ellis Ross seems unstoppable. Her range is inspired by remedies passed down through generations. The star product is the mask, which delivers slip, curl elongation and definition to coils, providing moisture to dry or damaged hair while promoting hair growth.

A Floral Affair
A New Orleans bridal shower stuns with blooms aplenty BY MISTY MILIOTO
W
hen local bride-to-be Amanda Lee arrived at the Virgin Hotels New Orleans on Feb. 19, she didn’t quite know what she was walking into. “A fun fact about my shower is that it was a complete surprise,” she says. “I didn’t know much about it. My sister and cousin — who is also my wedding planner, Anissa Coleman — did everything. If you know me, you know I love florals. I only told the girls that I didn’t want it to be super girly — I wanted
something fresh and airy.” The result was nothing short of perfect, with even the smallest details showcasing Lee’s personality. For example, she is known for making collages on how she wants to look for events. Coleman asked Lee what she would be wearing for the shower, and then she had mini charcuterie boxes topped off with a painting of Lee. “It completely blew me away,” Lee says. “It looked just liked me in that very moment. Of course I loved the flowers as well. Oh, and the Champagne tower! I guess I loved everything!”

Over-the-Top Predicted to exceed 1984 with record-breaking numbers of vows, 2022 is shaping up to be The Year of the Wedding. The season’s epic dresses, maximalist cakes and lavish florals channel the attention-grabbing spirit of the '80s with a modern twist. “Bigger is Better” is back for brides, who are more likely to ditch the traditional wedding model and plan a weekend celebration with multiple parties over multiple days, demanding as many wardrobe changes as opportunity permits. Multiple looks-in-one are trending with detachable overskirts, capes, lace, puff sleeves and full-volume ball gowns adding versatility and originality to aisle style.

CUISINE & COCK T AI L S
Buzzworthy Drinks Let’s give ‘em something to sip about BY AMY GABRIEL
A
s the buzz of your wedding builds, you’ve been going to bed with visions of cocktails dancing in your head. In a city where the cocktail culture offers seemingly endless pours, you want the sip service at your reception to be a step above the rest. Wondering how to achieve the kind of libation elation that will have your guests smiling from the first cork to the final coupe? Present your partygoers with bespoke sips and whimsical twists. Guests will spend more time with a cocktail in their hand than a fork, so you have to elevate that experience to at least the level of what’s being served food-wise,” said Josh Rosenthal, an owner of The Grand Bevy Corporation, who once built a 15-foot champagne tower. “Amazing conversations and touching points happen around a cocktail and you want to add to that experience with something truly unique.” To help encourage those meaningful moments, The Grand Bevy Corporation has created a cutting-edge concept called SIPMI Live that is sure to have people in TikTok upload mode. In their most popular interactive experience, guests enter into a photo booth or a step-and-repeat backdrop and then, from behind the scenes, a sippable, edible hi-res image will be transposed atop their beverage. “Anyone can make a cocktail,” said Rosenthal, whose client roster ranges from the Kardashians to the New Orleans Saints. “This experience gives people that wow factor and adds to the moment in the moment.”
56 | SUMMER/AUTUMN 2022
To further engage guests, Emmeline Johnston, concept director for Bonfire Events + Catering, suggests embracing a seasonal aspect of the festivities through a customized or signature drink. “Unexpected garnishes add an element of surprise and whimsy to a cocktail,” said Johnston who will often add a sprig of mint to a summer spritz or a torched garnish to an autumnal libation. “The smell of a charred cinnamon stick or rosemary sprig instantly transports the senses and creates visual interest.” In addition to fragrant herbs, Quinn Richard, owner of Cocktail + Creative, finds that weaving in florals can uplevel a cocktail and provide beautiful texture and color. “Whether they are frozen in ice cubes or placed near the rim, flowers are a simple yet sophisticated add on that make a world of difference visually,” said Richard, who suggests ideas like edible roses and marigolds, or a strawberry and hibiscus spritzer topped with an orchid. “Little thoughtful nuances are the best showstoppers.” He also recommends a curated bar station showcasing a big block of ice that a bartender can handchip with a petite ice pick in front of the guests. “It’s a very chic, photogenic moment,” said Richard, who notes that this particular scenario can be showcased for just one cocktail station to prioritize budget and promote smooth flow at the bar. “A designated, set apart spot for this can make a big impression. It’s these cool, surprising moments that make the hashtags happen at your wedding.” b

Pull into the Station Grazing tables to fête your appetite BY AMY GABRIEL
A
s sure as your single bridesmaids will be scoping out the potential crush candidates at your wedding, the rest of your guests will be primed to go straight from wed to fed at your reception. After a healthy hiatus, the grazing table, in all of its delicious iterations, is a favorite that’s back en vogue. Not only does the concept work as a gorgeous greeter, allowing guests to eat first with their eyes, it also doubles as a companionable way to get them mixing and mingling. “Surely there’s a romantic comedy that starts with two wedding guests who keep meeting back at the same shrimp cocktail spread over the course of a night,” shares Emmeline Johnston, concept director for Bonfire Events + Catering, who has seen New Orleans-esque concepts like interactive seafood and raw bars very much back into rotation. “Nothing

brings people together like food — it’s a great conversation starter.” Johnston recommends grazing tables featuring “personal bites” like blackberry and blue cheese canapés served on lavash with fig jam and pickled onion, and duck pastrami ”BLTs” as quick grabs for guests in between spins on the dance floor. “Togetherness is back,” said Johnston, “and the return of the communal dining experience is something, in itself, to celebrate! Feasting tables at social gatherings encourage guests to mingle and linger, and keeps them feeling satisfied.” She also encourages couples to incorporate sentimental concepts into their food selection as a way to tell their how-we-met story. “Especially at larger weddings, some guests may not know that the couple have an affection for poboys
since their first date was at Parkway Bakery. Something like a mini poboy setup allows the couple to share this fun detail with their guests in a thoughtful way.” Katie Morris, owner of Black Pearl Catering, has seen an uptick in couples showcasing hometown favorites into their fare displays. “In a recent wedding, the groom was from the South, the bride from the West Coast, and we had a grazing table for each style,” she recalls, noting that the Southern table was topped with fried chicken and waffle bites and sweet cornbread while the West Coast table had options like chile-grilled artichokes and petite tuna tacos. “The guests really loved the representation and juxtaposition of what was offered,” said Morris, who reveals that some of the best photos she’s received back from receptions include picturesque shots
of the feasting stations. Sarah Hall, president of Joel Catering, agrees that setups like these offer attention-grabbing visual opportunities, as well as a variety of flavor profiles. “Displaying individual bites gives your guests a visually lush styled presentation and allows people to create their own eating experience,” said Hall, highlighting popular concepts like elaborate cheese and charcuterie displays outfitted with your wedding florals. Not just for savory sustenance, Hall sees grazing tables as an opportunity to provide guests a multitude of dessert options. “Imagine macarons in brightly colored piles with multiple tiers of truffles and individual crème brulées,” said Hall. “These little miniatures are a great two-bite for guests and an Instagram photo ready to happen.” b

hile New Orleans is known for its historic charm, sometimes a new coat of paint can do wonders for older venues. These quintessential Crescent City wedding venues have gone beyond new paint with a number of renovations that up the ante on distinctive wedding venues. COLUMNS
Hotelier Jayson Seidman has beautifully reimagined the historic Columns hotel, which dates back to 1883. In addition to preserving many of the building’s original architectural details, Seidman integrated new features like an expansive garden, an intimate second-floor event and dining space, a guest lounge, a rooftop deck and a new bar and restaurant helmed by Executive Chef Paul Terrebonne. Seidman drew inspiration from the massive stained-glass medallion at the top of the original mahogany grand staircase to establish the color palette. He also referenced the original marble fireplace mantels, chandeliers, stained-glass windows and plaster details when choosing new textiles and finishes. The original bar, public bathrooms, ballroom, 20 guest rooms (including 10 standard rooms, four junior suites and six suites) and exterior spaces also feature

ngagement photos do more than simply announce a couple’s upcoming nuptials. Instead, they can truly capture a couple’s essence. When couples are truly connecting with one another, and when they have fun with the photographer and the process, lovely photos are sure to follow. Here, we chat with three local photographers who share how to get the best engagement photos possible. KRISTEN SOILEAU, OWNER, KRISTEN SOILEAU—WEDDING + LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY
Kristen Soileau booked her first wedding in 2012, and, after she graduated college in 2014, she went full-time into her wedding and family photography business. This local photographer, whose photos pack a serious punch, hasn’t looked back. The part that she loves the most is getting to know her clients. “I love showing up to a session or a home not knowing what to expect but knowing I’ll walk away having learned another story and shared a fun time together,” she says. Soileau has a degree in design and a love for people, both of which she says factor into her style of photography. She also loves finding inspiring places to shoot around the city. “I love the textures and colors of New Orleans,” she says. “Once the couple is in front of the camera, I engage with them when necessary by asking them questions and hearing their story. Other times,

I just stay quiet and let their love unfold without interruption. I base my energy and approach on the couple.” Indeed, Soileau’s clients most often say that her images reflect real emotion. “I also get told, ‘You made us look so cool,’” she says. “A couple should hire me if they want images that show their dynamic and personality, and they’re willing to step out of tradition.” Soileau’s process is straightforward, yet fun, and always customized to each client. A few weeks prior to the photo shoot, she touches base with her clients to plan out specific locations and outfits. “I always encourage wearing an outfit that is comfortable and represents you,” she says. “My favorite is when clients show up in their favorite sneakers and date outfit. I try to make the shoot as much of a date as possible. We choose a spot that is specific and special to the couple. I’ve had engagement sessions at record stores, a favorite bar and even a basketball court.” Her best advice is for couples to look at a potential photographer’s reviews and also to ask for full-sized galleries. “Don’t just book someone based on their shiny Instagram moments,” she says. “Then, just relax. Engagements are so low key. Worst case scenario, just redo them if you hate them. It’s not like a wedding day that can’t be recreated. Pick a photographer you vibe with and trust. That’s most important.” kristensoileau.com

QUINTON CHARLES, OWNER, QUINTON CHARLES PHOTOGRAPHY
After Quinton Charles purchased a camera to make music videos — a venture that didn’t go quite as planned — he decided to start doing senior sessions to pay for his expensive equipment. “One thing led to another, and now it’s my passion,” he says. “The stories told and moments with couples are my favorite. Every couple has a story, and I love documenting it in a timeless fashion.”
66 | SUMMER/AUTUMN 2022
Charles has now been photographing couples for more than 10 years. His approach is to always create exciting photo sessions that elicit emotion. “Couples often say they don’t feel like they were taking photos,” he says. “The sessions are packed with moment-driven fun and emotions that get couples to connect with each other. The goal is always for a wonderful time. A perfect engagement session consists of love, fun and real moments. If that happens — and it always does — then beautiful photos
will follow.” He describes his photographic style as timeless and moment-based. He also uses moody, earthy tones to give his photos some grounding. “The end result of my photos is to last a lifetime; meaning I don’t focus on trendy edits, gimmicky poses and fabricated moments,” he says. “Instead, the photos will still be impactful 50 years from now.” The best advice he can offer is for couples to wear something comfortable that they can easily
Hunter and Desiree Ryland, a local husband-and-wife duo, are not only partners in life, but also in business. In addition to offering wedding photography, the couple also has a photo booth company (HD Photobooth Co.), and a combo photography studio/art gallery Uptown on Magazine Street. “We are one big collaboration,” Desiree says. “We live and breathe these things, and we are constantly able to get better together. It shows in our work and in the way we interact with our couples.” Sure enough, Hunter and Desiree enjoy capturing their couples during what is such an important time in their lives. They go to great lengths to understand their clients to the point where they become friends. “We want to get to the point of who they are,” Desiree says. “We want to pick up on natural stances or ways that they move so that we are able to incorporate that into their images. We aim to refine what is in front of us and then elevate it. One of our secrets is that Hunter is mainly talking, jokingdirecting, while I’m photographing. This allows me to capture authentic laughter and moments that the couple doesn’t even necessarily know are being captured.” When hiring a photographer, Desiree says to look for consistency in their work and to go with your gut. She also says to trust the photographer’s process. “It’s such a major part of the way the images turn out,” she says. “Coordinating your outfits to complement one another is also important. You don’t want to match, but looking at everything as a whole is helpful. Having your hair and makeup professionally done also is important. Perfect engagement photos are ones that truly reflect the couple. We want them to see the images and say, ‘Wow, these are so us — the best version of us.” therylandsstudio.com b

What couples need to know about booking Big Day music FRITZ ESKER
G
ood music is an important part of any magical wedding. But should you choose a DJ or a band to provide the tunes? The answer depends on many variables that should be considered before making the final decision. First off, pricing. Carolyn Arthurs, owner of All About Events, said she has seen DJs run from $500 to 2,500 and bands run from $1,500 to $10,000. Typically bands will charge more, because their costs include more people and more equipment. Personal preference and pricing aren’t the only factors to consider, . Susan Zackin, owner of Z Event Company, said venue size and neighborhood noise ordinances should be taken into account. If a venue is small, a DJ could be a better choice. The band and their equipment will take up space, potentially making the space more crowded. Zackin recalled a wedding reception in Arnaud’s with a 13-piece band.
68 | SUMMER/AUTUMN 2022
She had to build a temporary addition to the restaurant to accommodate space needed for the band and the guests. If you have to do something like this to include a band at your reception, it could raise costs. Aside from fitting people, the other area where venue size matters is volume. Zackin said a large band in a small space will be louder than if they were in a larger venue and will not sound as good because there is no place for the sound to expand. If it’s too loud, guests might have a hard time hearing each other talk. If the venue and the price are right, a band’s live music can bring a lot of energy to a wedding reception. Arthurs said wedding bands can also sometimes double as second line bands for less than what you would pay a brass band. If you decide to go for a DJ, it is important to hire a wedding DJ. Yes, being a wedding DJ is a specific skill set. A playlist that works in a club (or even on Spotify in your car) may
not work in a wedding. “People try to bring in their favorite club or bar DJ and assume that the DJ can work a wedding,” said Arthurs. “That’s rarely true. There are protocols and skills that a wedding DJ must have that aren’t required in a club or bar.” Wedding DJ Ronnie Roux said a wedding DJ needs to be comfortable delivering messages over the microphone to the party. They have to be able to communicate (alerting the audience to dances or the garter toss, and so forth). Most importantly, they need to be able to read the room. “You have to be able to make sure everyone is having a good time,” Roux said. Roux added that wedding DJs need to have good volume control. The music needs to be loud enough for people to dance to, but it can’t be so loud guests can’t hear each other talk. Arthurs and Roux both said couples should not expect to give a DJ a full playlist. They can submit
a few “must have” songs and can tell DJs what genres they like or don’t like. On the flip side, couples can tell the DJ if there are genres or specific songs or artists to be avoided and if explicit lyrics should be avoided. Roux said to also ask any DJ if they have backups for their equipment. If they don’t have backups and something goes wrong, you can end up with a music-free wedding. When it comes to bands, Michael Taylor of the Phunky Monkeys said people should do their homework and research any band they are thinking of hiring. Taylor said it is important to talk to bands ahead of time and make sure they are willing to play the genres of music you want them to play. He said some bands will just say “We do what we do.” So if your heart is set on ‘80s pop, you should make sure your band is willing to play it. What one person might enjoy in a band might be different from what another person might enjoy, so Taylor recommended watching a band perform before hiring them. If you cannot find the time to watch them perform live, look up videos of the band online. Don’t just take someone’s word for it that they’re good. “Everybody’s taste and perspective is different,” Taylor said. Taylor added that it is good to get recommendations from multiple sources. Talk to videographers, wedding planners and venue representatives — people who deal with weddings all the time know which bands have good reputations and which ones do not. Ultimately, it is crucial to remember everyone is different, and tastes and priorities vary from couple to couple. “It’s important for a couple to be realistic about what they want, what their budget will allow, and the type of entertainment they really desire. This should all be considered before a venue is selected,” Zackin said. b

__ Solidify the catering menu. Whether you’re doing heavy hors d’oeuvres or a sit-down meal, verify the final menu.
__ Interview and select vendors. Make sure you book the “big ticket” items, such as the photographer, the caterer, the florist and the entertainment, early.
__ Go dress shopping. You need an appointment at most wedding boutiques, so call a few of your favorite stores to set up a time. __ Register. Register at two or three stores. Choose items at a variety of prices so everyone can find something they can afford. Add more gifts than you think you need so your friends and family have some options. __ Think about the rehearsal dinner. It’s customary that the groom’s parents host the rehearsal dinner. Talk to your future in-laws about possibilities. __ Schedule transportation. Book a limo, trolley or another form of transportation to shuttle your wedding party from the hotel to your ceremony location. Decide whether you need transportation for your guests to get from the reception to the hotel at the end of the reception. __ Plan your honeymoon. If you’re going out of the country for your trip, make sure you and your fiancé have up-to-date passports. __ Figure out your rentals. Rentals depend on the location of your wedding, but if you’re responsible for common rental items such as chairs and plates, make a list of everything you need and where you’re going to find each item.
__ Mail out the invitations. Double check with the post office that you have enough postage. Many wedding invitations require more than one stamp.
__ Schedule your hair and makeup team. Find a good hair stylist and makeup artist to help you and your bridesmaids get ready for the day. ONE MONTH BEFORE
__ Send your wedding party an itinerary. Make sure your family and friends know where and when to be for the wedding day so everyone shows up at the right place at the right time. __ Enjoy a facial. Everyone reacts differently to facials. If you’re planning on getting one, schedule it a few days before your wedding, or do a trial run months before. __ Get your marriage license. Head to the Orleans Parish Marriage License Office in Benson Tower (1450 Poydras St., Suite 407) for your marriage certificate. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. Visit ldh.la.gov for requirements. __ Set up your second line. If you’re planning to second line at your wedding, you’re going to need a permit. Call the City of New Orleans One Stop Permits & Licenses at 658-7100 to schedule everything 15 to 20 days before your wedding day.
__ Book a block of hotel rooms for out-of-town guests. If you’re not familiar with the hotel, ask a hotel representative to show you a room and don’t forget to inquire about a group rate.
__ Practice your hair and makeup. It’s best to practice with your hair stylist and makeup artists ahead of time so there are no surprises on the big day. Plan your trial run for a day you want good hair, such as your bridal shower or bachelorette party.
__ Order bridesmaids’ dresses. If your bridesmaids live far away, give them plenty of time to buy their dresses and get them fitted.
__ Finalize the guest list. Send a final headcount to your caterer and any other vendor who needs the number.
4-5 MONTHS TO GO
ONE WEEK BEFORE
__ Buy wedding bands. Shopping for wedding bands is usually less stressful than shopping for an engagement ring, but carve out a time when you and your fiancé can go look together.
__ Double check with your vendors. Touch base with everyone one more time to remind them where to go and to answer any last-minute questions they might have.
__ Finalize the rehearsal dinner. Once you’ve decided on the location, book your rehearsal dinner.
__ Remind friends and family of their responsibilities. Assign duties to your wedding party or other loved ones. Who is the contact for the photographer? Who is making sure all guests get a favor?
__ Reserve a wedding night hotel room. Where are you staying for the wedding night? If you’re not leaving for your honeymoon immediately after the reception, decide where you want to stay for the night. __ Get your dress fitted. Your wedding dress is one of the most important dresses you will wear in your life, so it should fit impeccably. Many brides plan up to three fittings. __ Decide on attire for the groom and groomsmen. Talk to your fiancé about what he wants to wear and what will match your overall color scheme. Keep the time of day in mind when researching options. __ Check in with your vendors. Make final decisions with your vendors and update them on new wedding information, such as when they should arrive. __ Order your wedding cake. Taste a few cakes before you decide on your final choice. Talk to your fiancé about a groom’s cake if he wants one.
__ Get a manicure and pedicure. This can be a great bonding experience with your bridesmaids, mom and future mother-in-law. __ Put together a welcome package. If you have a lot of guests traveling for your wedding, ask the hotel if you can put a welcome basket or bag in their hotel room for when they arrive. THE WEDDING DAY
__ Find a way to relax. Whether you go for a run or read a book in the morning, find a way to keep stress to a minimum. __ Make sure you eat something. Brides always say, “I never had time to eat anything!” Give yourself some time during the reception to have a bite. __ Have fun! You’ve made it through all the planning, now it’s time to celebrate. Enjoy your first day as a married woman. b
