Hot Springs Village News Artesian Motor Coach Resort A luxury motor coach resort developer is considering a project in the near future. Resort Project Development LLC is looking at the feasibility of the resort on 56 acres of reserved property to be purchased from Cooper Inc. Notable in Hot Springs Village Grove Park Summer Events During the summer months, Grove Park, in Hot Springs Village,
is home to a myriad of events that provide the opportunity for shopping, entertainment and socializing. Come out and enjoy these fun and entertaining events. Shop for farmfresh produce and handcrafted gifts at the Green Market and Artisan Market Green Market, the weekly farmer’s market is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. until noon throughout the growing season. Local area farmers and artisans are dedicated to bringing you farm-fresh meat and eggs, homegrown fruits and vegetables, homebaked goods, soup mixes and hand-crafted gifts. Reusable Green Market shopping bags are available for $5. The Fall Artisan Market is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. September 20. More than 40 vendors will offer handmade items including a wide variety of jewelry, woodworking, photography, home décor, baked goods and more. The event provides a venue for area artists and craftsmen to showcase their work, exchange ideas and connect with the community.
Enjoy the sounds of local area musicians, participate in a jam session and relive Woodstock at the Rock Porch Sessions, Rhythm Jams and Villagestock taking place in Grove Park this summer. Rock Porch Sessions, held monthly, provide an opportunity to kick back, relax and listen to great music. These free music events offer members and guests the chance to sample the sounds of great local-area musicians in a lowkey atmosphere. Rhythm Jams are acoustical musical events where musicians play (“jam”) by improvising without extensive preparation or predefined arrangements. Jam sessions may be based upon existing songs or forms, or may be improvisational. Rhythm Jams bring together musicians, singers and neighbors to play, listen and learn more about various genres of music, musical instruments and the history behind the music. Jams offer opportunities to meet new people and play music together. Play an instrument, sing or just enjoy the music at the Rhythm Jam at 1:00 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month, in Grove Park. Jams are open to musicians of all ages and skill levels playing non-amplified instruments. The event is free.

Hot Spring Village 2nd Annual Villagestock is set for 1:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. September 26, 2015 at Grove Park. Enjoy wall-to-wall music and reminisce of Woodstock at this fun event sponsored by Hot Springs Village Recreation in partnership with Boomers Rock. Two stages will provide continuous music throughout the day. Food trucks, specialty drinks and outdoor games will round out the festival. Tickets will be available online at HSVTicketSales.com beginning July 1, 2015. Wrist bands will allow guests to leave and come back as often as they would like throughout the day. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Ponce de Leon Center/Woodlands Auditorium. John Weidert, George Parker and Marcy Mermel Elected to Board of Directors John Weidert, George Parker and Marcy Mermel were elected to the Hot Springs Village Board of Directors for three-year terms, replacing Directors Keith Keck, Bobbie Bateman and Frank Leeming. Weidert, Parker and Mermel were sworn in Wednesday, April 15, at the conclusion of the Board of Directors regular board meeting. Harv Shelton was elected as president of the new board, and Mike Medica was elected vice president. The 2015 Board of Directors election was held on March 26, 2015 at the Ouachita Building. The count was conducted by Election Day Committee members and the accounting staff, under the direction of Chairman Jerry Yeric. The Board of Directors mission is to govern consistently with the Declarations and Protective Covenants, to assure the viability of Hot Springs Village by establishing and managing goals and objectives, and to ensure that the voice of the property owner is represented.

Golf News Golf Department News As we head into the height of the summer season, the golf department announces the addition of another golf tournament for our members to enjoy. The Troon Challenge regional qualifier will be played in conjunction with the Short Game Skills Challenge on Wednesday, July 1. The members of HSV can now test their short game skills before, or after, the 2-person Team Troon Challenge enhancing a full day of “challenges” at Magellan. Ray Metz Director of Golf
The Troon Challenge is a two-person, modified best ball (shamble) event. With the winner in the gross division and the winner in the net division qualifying for the national final at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona on August 22-23, 2015. Entry details and entry forms are available at all golf clubs in the Village and at the golf department’s office at the POA. Enjoy Scottsdale and make Hot Springs Village proud.
