“ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones." Proverbs 3:5-8

Paige
Mother Paige was born on October 5, 1928 in Rogersville, Alabama to Catherine and Lacey Paige, she accepted Christ at a young age. She received her education through the Rogersville School system and she graduated from Eastend High School. Mother left home in 1946 to live in Kentucky where she worked and stayed for 2 years. Mother moved to Detroit, MI in 1949 and later united with Luther Koger, who proceeded her in death. Mother Paige worked as the president of the Mother's Board and on the Pastors Aide at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor Willie D. Price. She believed the scripture that says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." Ecclesiastes 9:10 In 2001 Mother moved her membership to the Open Door Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Supt. Alan R. Evans. Mother worked on the Benevolence Committee and on the Mother's Board. She was a prayer warrior, a praiser and worshiper. 4|
She loved people, especially the saints and she expressed that by giving the warmest hugs that left you feeling refreshed and loved. Mother Paige also was a great encourager, she loved the young people and from time to time she would remind the congregation to lift the young people up in whatever performance they were in. Mother was a person that loved to serve others, a great cook who could make tantalizing dishes that would make your taste buds shout. She was a women that took pride in whatever she did. On Saturday, February 25, 2017, Mother Mary Magdalene was called from labor to reward. Mother Paige leaves to cherish her memory and her legacy a loving daughter: Patricia A. Paige, Grandson, Kevin L. Paige, 2 Brothers: Elder James T. Nance (Evangelist Freddie Nance) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, William R. Nance of Athens, Alabama, Sister, Mother Betty J. Johnson of Athens Alabama. 4 Siblings, Tony, Cole, J.C. Nance, Cora Lee Nance and 2 nephews, Thomas Johnson and Jamieson Nance, who proceeded her in death. Relatives and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and several God children.
“ I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." Psalms 27:13-14 |5
Words of Love Without You Mom, without you I thought there would be no me. Your love, your attention, your guidance has made me who I am. Without you I thought I would be lost, wandering aimlessly without direction or purpose. But you showed me the way to serve, to accomplish, to preserve. I thought, without you there would be such empty space I could never refill, but you've taught me most of all how to rely on Christ. Because of him I've been taught joy, contentment, satisfaction, and peace. Thank you mom, for I have found that I am really not without you, but I have you always in my heart. I have always loved you and I always will. Your daughter, "Pat"
To my Granny You taught me how to play checkers, how to cook, wash and iron.. but you also taught me to live before the Lord. Thank you for your Godly example, and I promise, your legacy will live in me forever. I'll see you in the Rapture. Your grandson and buddy, Kevin 6|
Goodbye In our minds, we always knew this time would come to pass But knowing it, and living it, Has come and gone so fast. Goodbyes are often hard to say, They hurt so very much. though you’re not gone. You still remain, in the minds, hearts, and lives you’ve touched. We love you Aunt Mary. This seems like “goodbye” today, but it is actually “see you later”. Your nieces and nephews
Mary was my big sister and I always looked up to her. She was always there for us (her younger brothers and sister). She watched over us when our mother was at work. She kept us clean, fed, and sent my little brother and me to school while our mother worked. She was the best big sister that anyone could want to have and I loved her. She was the best. She was like a second mother and she protected us when we were small and even when we became adults she still protected us. I love my big sister and she will be greatly missed. Betty N. Johnson
