Iedereen kan hier terecht; van ambtenaar tot expat, van toerist tot student. Strellson Delft is één van twee modezaken die dit wereldwijd bekende merk heeft in Nederland. Naast Delft is er een flagship store in Dusseldorf en heeft het merk vestigingen in o.a. Toronto, Mexico en Hong Kong. Voor degenen die een druk leven leiden en er toch goed uit willen zien is het mogelijk om een Personal Shopping afspraak te maken, zelfs

Along the most beautiful and famous canal, the Oude Delft, you will find the Stads-Koffyhuis, in their own words ‘the town’s favourite spot’. The homely feel resonates with both Delft visitors and locals.

hose who know the place, pay a visit every now and then. Just like a couple who live in Canada for already thirty years, “they just have to stop by each time they visit the Netherlands. It’s like coming home, even after all these years,” says Roland Dijkman, who runs the establishment with Ferry van Winden. The 51 year old authentic Stadskoffyhuis serves the best coffee, various flavours of tea, pancakes and even burgers. Above all, you’ll be there for the famous and delicious sandwiches. Take a peek at the menu and it shows plenty of Delft on offer, ranging from locally brewed beer to flour from the Delft Molen (Windmill) ‘De Roos’ in the pancakes. The fact that everyone feels at home is also reflected in the team’s composition. “Like our guests, our team is diverse too; permanent staff, students and staff with a distance
to the labour market. Our Philip won the top prize in the ‘Lekkerste Broodje’ (Tastiest Sandwich) of the Netherlands competition, in the ‘Lekker Anders’ (Tasty & Different) category. This annual competition is intended for hospitality professionals with a disability.” At Stads-koffyhuis you won’t find exposed brick walls, an industrial look or other hipster styling, they keep up through its original, creative and innovative menu. Even the walls with exhibition space for local artists and their gift items have the Delft touch, such as a beautiful personalised Delft Blue tile. The alfresco terrace boat in front offers stunning views of the Old Church. Yes, the Stads-koffyhuis is a beloved place that you will leave feeling content and always return to with pleasure.

Aan de mooiste en bekendste gracht, de Oude Delft staat het Stads-Koffyhuis, naar eigen zeggen het ‘meest geliefde plekje’ van de stad. Het huiskamergevoel geldt niet alleen voor de bezoekers van Delft maar ook voor de Delftenaren.

edereen kent het en ieder-een komt er weleens. Zo ook een echtpaar dat al zo’n dertig jaar in Canada woont, “bij elk bezoek terug aan Nederland moeten ze even bij ons langs. Dat is thuiskomen, ook na al die jaren,” vertelt Roland Dijkman, die samen met Ferry van Winden het Stads-Koffyhuis runt. Bij het inmiddels 51 jaar oude authentiek Delftse Stads-koffyhuis kun je terecht voor de beste koffie, allerlei smaken thee, pannenkoeken en zelfs hamburgers. Maar bovenal kom je er voor de befaamde heerlijk rijkbelegde broodjes. Wie de menukaart doorneemt ziet tevens dat er volop Delfts aanbod is, van lokaal gebrouwen bier tot meel van Delftse Molen ‘De Roos’ in de pannenkoeken. Dat iedereen zich thuis voelt blijkt ook uit de samenstelling van het team. “Net als onze gasten is ons team ook divers, naast vast personeel hebben we studenten en medewerkers met een afstand tot de
arbeidsmarkt. Als bekroning heeft onze Philip de wedstrijd: het Lekkerste Broodje van Nederland, in de categorie Lekker Anders, gewonnen. Deze vakwedstrijd wordt ieder jaar georganiseerd en is bedoeld voor medewerkers van horecabedrijven met een beperking.” Bij het Stads-koffyhuis vind je geen bakstenen muren, industrieel interieur of andere hippe opschmuck. Het meegaan in de tijd zie je dus vooral terug in de originele, creatieve en vernieuwende menukaart. Bovendien hebben de muren met expositieruimte voor lokale kunstenaars en de cadeauartikelen zelfs een Delfts tintje, zoals een mooie gepersonaliseerde Delfts Blauwe tegel. De terrasboot voor biedt een prachtig uitzicht op de Oude Kerk. Ja, het Stads-koffyhuis is een geliefde plek waar je voldaan weggaat en altijd met plezier weer terugkomt.

After 500 years, these finely decorated objects get the attention they deserve. For the first time exhibiting outside of Asia. Het gaat om het allervroegste porselein dat speciaal voor de keizers van China werd vervaardigd. Het keizerlijk hof in Beijing heeft het echter nooit bereikt. Na 500 jaar krijgen deze fijn gedecoreerde objecten alsnog de aandacht die zij verdienen. Voor het eerst buiten Azië te zien.
