BIOGRAPHiES BECCA SNYDER (Carrie) - Becca is thrilled to be portraying the overwhelming powerful role that is
Carrie White here at Genesius, a theatre she has been involved in since the age of six. Becca has participated in over 50 productions, both regionally and in the community. Credits: Ensemble in Les Miserables and Annie in Annie at the Fulton Theatre; Sandy in Grease, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at Conrad Weiser High School; Margot in Legally Blonde, Star to Be in Annie, Laker Girl in Spamalot, Louise in Carousel, Iola Stover in Parade, and Cheerleader in High School Musical at Genesius. Becca would like to thank Chris for taking her on this miraculous journey and for believing in her since day one. Lastly, Becca would like to thank her mom, dad, and sister for the support they provide every day. This one’s for you.
CATHY MILLER (Margaret White) - has performed with Munopco, Civic and Applause Theaters in
Allentown. She relocated to Berks County to teach 4th grade at Schuylkill Valley Elementary School. A long time member and past president of Reading Civic Theater, she performed the roles of Miss Hannigan and Peter Pan to name a few. Upon discovering the “Genesius Difference”, she has performed in Genesius: The Musical in 2007, The Full Monty, The Great American Trailer Park, and Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard. She most recently reprised the role of Jane Simmon Miller in GTM. She truly enjoyed working with this cast of talented young people.
BRIANA CHRISTIE (Sue Snell) - is a Junior at Conrad Weiser High School. She has been involved in
seventeen Genesius productions, her favorite of which have been Godspell, Marjory in Genesius: The Musical, and a Boylan sister in Annie. When she’s not on stage, she can usually be found working back stage. She’s done everything from stage managing to running a spotlight for shows like The 39 Steps; Bill W. and Dr. Bob; and Les Miserables. Briana would like to thank her director, Chris--for having a tremendous amount of faith in her; her stage manager and mother--for always putting up with the craziness being a theater kid entails; also her friends Mamie, Kara, Nick, and especially Eli--for making this show as much fun as it was. The next show she will be seen in is The King and I directed by the lovely Chris, as well.
DREW BOARDMAN (Tommy Ross) - is a professional writing major at Kutztown University,
with aspirations for screen writing. On stage he has donned the roles of Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Danny in Grease, Joe in Sugar, and the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz, amongst several others. Last fall he wrote Mystery Inc. for KU’s theater club Perforum, which he is now the president of. He is thrilled to be in Carrie, his first show with Genesius, with such a fantastic cast, crew, and director.
JOE SWAGGERTY (Billy Nolan) - is a recent Kutztown University graduate, and is thrilled to have
joined the cast of Carrie. This is his third show, and first musical after playing Fred Jones in Mystery Inc. and Alonso in Cirque, both shows produced by the KU theater club Perforum. He looks forward to continuing his acting career, especially with the wonderful people at Genesius.
KARA SNYDER (Chris Hargensen) - is currently a junior in high school at The Lehigh Valley Charter High
School for the Arts where she spends most of her days squeezing through crowded hallways and trying to avoid stepping in whatever that is that just got spilled all over the floor. Since this is only her third show at Genesius, she has only been seen in the ensemble in Spamalot and in I Am Woman, but she has done many shows outside of Genesius. Before moving to Pennsylvania, she was seen as Veruca Salt in Willy Wonka Jr., Joy in Cinderella, and the Jester in Once Upon a Mattress at Valdosta Middle School in Valdosta, GA. She has also done a bit of work behind the curtain at Wilson High School for shows including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Death of a Salesman, Gruesome Playground Injuries and Into The Woods. She has loved having the opportunity to work with such amazing, talented people and is very excited to do more shows at Genesius in the future.
AMY HUDAK (Ms. Gardner) - was last seen in Genesius’ production of Bill W. and Dr. Bob in April
2014. Her theater career spans over 30 years, ranging from ensemble (Evita, Sweeney Todd) to musical direction and conducting (Jekyll & Hyde, Little Shop of Horrors) to performing at the Keswick Theatre (Jesus Christ Superstar) and roles here at Genesius (Anna in Closer, Susan in Company). In her everyday life, Amy manages the Patent Administration group for a Delaware-based wireless tech company. She sends many thanks and much love to her Carrie family, especially Chris for his faith in her inner gym teacher. She sends love and gratitude to all of her boys - Chris, Dakota and Dylan - and love to her brother Justin for sharing so many theatrical journeys. “Gym class in two minutes!”
NICK SCHWENK (Mr. Stephens) - has performed in several productions on the Genesius stage
over the span of 20 years, most recently The Wedding Singer also directed by Chris Sperat. Nick would like to thank his amazingly talented fellow cast, wife Caitlin and his daughter Bekka for inspiring him to return to the stage.
