Director’s Note Picasso at L’Apin Agile was the first play Genesius produced at the Vanity Fair Outlet. We had a small black box space, put up platforms for the audiences, and the set consisted of a bar and 2 tables. It was a wonderful experience. Being given the opportunity to recreate it has been a true joy. Paul Delfin is the only cast member from the original show to reprise his role as Freddy. The remainder of the cast is new, but easily succumbed to the weird world that Steve Martin created, Our hope is that you enjoy it as much as we have.

While in your seat, we ask that you do not use any mobile devices prior to and during the performance. Using a cell phone is not only a distracting nuisance to everyone sitting around and behind you, but it can create static noise on our sound system used during our performances and on-screen advertising. The videotaping, photography or audio recording of this production is prohibited unless strict guidelines within our contract allow representatives from the theatre to any of the aforementioned for the purpose of promoting the show. Thank you for your cooporation.

Biographies In Order of Appearance
Paul Delfin (Freddy) appeared as Freddy in 2003. Since then,
Paul has aged 12 years but Freddy has not aged one millisecond, thus proving that the universe is curved and that time and art are relative. After you’ve spent the next hour or so with Einstein and Picasso, you will understand. Enjoy the play!
Chuck Austin (Gaston) has been a staple here at Genesius for a
very long time. “Every time I walk on to the stage at Gensius, I feel honored. For 20 years, I have been lucky enough to be cast among great talents, doing what I love & hopefully delighting the audiences in attendance.” His sentiments are echoed through these walls by a great many. His thanks to all who participate in this microcosm of the artistic world, and as always, a hug to his greatest fan & critic, his remarkable son, Josh.
Kelly Schmehl (Germaine) will be very busy with Genesius this
year. She will be in the company of both Rent as Alexi Darling, and Boeing, Boeing as Berthe. You may remember her as Enid in Legally Blonde, or as a cast member of Sunset Boulevard, Reefer Madness, or as the director of Closer. She is very happy to be working with Marjory again. Thanks so much for your help with Closer.
Nicholas Freer (Einstein) is making his first appearance on the
Genisius stage. He is very excited to play Einstein. Nick is 26 years old and has been acting for 10 years. He started acting in middle school and high school in his home town of Meriden, Connecticut. After high school, Nicholas was part of the 2008 PA Renaissance Faire season and attended Penn State Berks. There, he had the opportunity of playing Nick Bottom in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Alan in the musical Baby and The Emcee in the musical Cabaret just to name a few. Nick would like to thank all his friends since only the important ones would be reading this. He would like to thank his FirstEnergy coworkers in attendance for all their support. Most of all, Nick would like to thank his husband Erik Matus, for without him, he would be lost for the past 7 years. Enjoy the show!
Kara Snyder (Suzanne) is currently a junior at the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts where she studies vocal music. This is her fifth show at Genesius. She appeared in Spamalot, I am Woman, Carrie the Musical, and The King and I. She would like to thank her friends and family for their endless support and thanks Genesius for giving her a place to call home.
Proud to donate all hair and makeup services to the talented team of Genesius Theatre!

Biographies Continued
Mike Pardo (Sagot) has been hamming it up on the com-
munity theatre stages of Reading since 1994 when he and his family appeared in Fiddler on the Roof at JCC. He has performed with Alpha Omega Players, Reading Community Players, and Genesius usually in character roles where his penchant for mugging is considered less of a liability. He has played everything from Grandpa Joe in Willy Wonka to the ghost of Elvis Presley. Favorite roles at Genesius include Dr. Babyfuss in Promises, Promises, Juror # 11 in 12 Angry Men, Hucklebee in The Fantastics. His last two appearances have been at RCP in Arsenic and Old Lace and You Can’t Take It With You.
Joe Swaggerty (Picasso) is extremely pleased to be a part of Genesius’ production of Picasso at L’Apin Agile. He is a recent graduate of Kutztown University in fine arts. This is his second show here; he first appeared as Billy Nolan in Chris Sperat’s Carrie the Musical. He looks forward to continuing his career as an actor and will be on stage for three shows in Genesius’ 2015 season.
Caleb Anthony Seip (Schmendiman) is excited to be a part of another Genesius production! He attended AMDA (NYC). Past productions include Miss Saigon, High School Musical, The 39 Steps, Godspell, and Altar BoyZ to name a few. He appeared with Nat’l Tours of Alice in Wonderland and Pinocchio with American Family Theater. Look out for Caleb this coming season in Hairspray and RENT. A big thanks to Marjory and the cast for all the laughs. Love to Mom and Micah. Hi Laura! #BlaM! Abby Hoy (The Countess) is a recent graduate of Kutztown
University. She appeared at Genesius in Legally Blonde, The Sound of Music, and Carrie. Other shows she has been seen in include Cirque, The Last Act, Mystery, Inc., and The Music Man. By day she works at EPAC and by night she wears her underwear outside her pants, Quailman-style. Break a leg to my Buff, Swags…and I guess Taylor is okay too.
Taylor Clark (The Visitor) has risen from the ashes of the
Kutztown Theatre Program and is excited to join the cast of Picasso in his Genesius debut. He has appeared as Matt in Dog Sees God, Harold Gorringe in Black Comedy, and Jesse in Lizards. Most of all he is excited to prove he’s sexier than Joe Swaggerty.

The Story: Becca and Howie Corbett have everything a family could want, until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously apart. “An intensely emotional examination of grief laced with with, insightfulness, compassion and searing honesty”, RABBIT HOLE charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest of places and for a path that will lead them back into the light of day. This is a family of highly functional, unsentimental, spirited, and often funny people who are trying to maneuver through their grief and around each other as best they can.
