e shall recommence. It will not be easy and it will certainly not be as before. But we shall start again and, thanks to the lockdown, we shall do it with a new spirit. Not due to incognizance, not out of stubbornness and not because we are bored at home. We shall start again because history teaches that wars, floods and various influences, from the Spanish flu to Sars, have not stopped humans and therefore neither will this virus prevail. The new rules are all to be discovered, or invented. Precautions and advice are often overlooked, but as always common sense helps. Moreover, armed with common sense we shall return to discover that world that captivated us until February. That world will have a new flavor. We shall find forgotten emotions and scents. But above all we shall discover the pleasure of discovering and re-discovering, with new, attentive and passionate eyes with an involvement that only a prolonged lockdown could give us.

URBAN RESORT | ZURICH
Atlantis by Giardino
Zurich
T
he hotel Atlantis by Giardino Zurich boasts a range of high quality services. The current dĂŠcor remodels well the spaces of the historic hotel of the 70s, favoring vibrant colors and sophisticated materials to create an ambience of casual elegance that is not without a touch of classicism. In this chic universe, guests find themselves at ease. The picturesque location of the Atlantis allows you to vacation a few minutes from the center of Zurich, enjoying, however, at the same time, an Urban Retreat nestled at the foot of the Uetliberg: the mountain in Zurich from which you can admire the city, the lake and the Alps. The rooms and suites show off intimate classic elegance and boast a superb view. Another strong point of the Atlantis by Giardino is the restaurants. Hide & Seek offers, in a casual setting, a creative fusion between Western flavors with those of the Near East and Asia. A more sophisticated atmosphere characterises, instead, the two-star restaurant in which the menu of Chef Stefan Heilemann is characterised by an impressive cooking tradition focused on the full value of basic products. Without further ado, guests of the Atlantis then take advantage of the Dipiu Spa, articulated around the pool: an ensemble in which you will experience sensations of well-being almost outside time. Star of the Zurich of the 70s, Atlantis by Giardino is now a myth reborn, thanks to a careful upgrade to a modern design and, at the same time, is perfectly discreet. 34

CITY HOTEL | SINGAPORE
So Sofitel
F
Singapore
rench chic and Singaporean polish snuggled under the skyscrapers of the Central Business District, in a heritage building next to the traditional hawker stalls in the Lau Pa Sat Market and close to the waterfront. The elegant 1920s façade gives no hint of the elaborate French sophistication and playful inspirations that lie in wait inside. From the welcome drink served in laboratory ampoules to the armchairs sprouting stag antlers, and from the showy portraits of Napoleon in the rooms and suites to the gold-tiled pool on the roof. Playful and witty provocations that are the brainchild of the property’s two designers: Isabelle Miaja and Karl Lagerfeld. The 125 rooms and nine suites – in the traditional Heritage Wing they come with very high ceilings and some have balconies, have light boxes with renaissance domes on the ceiling, modeled walls in tones of white and grey and hi-tech galore. Like the iPhones, and the iPads that double as butlers, regulating the lights, curtains, air con and television and summoning room service with a swipe. The marble bathrooms feature glass walls and toiletries from the Grasse luxury house Urban Forest, and in the So Lofty Suites the bathtubs are for two. The epicurean Xperience restaurant has the atmosphere of a French brasserie and an open kitchen. The accent here is on traditional French and Asian cuisine with a twist, and the servings come in a range of sizes, from tapas to XL. The house specialties are the 36-Hour Lamb Neck Sous-vide and the Laksa Spaghetti, an artful interpretation of the famous local spicy soup. Looking for a quiet corner? The Rooftop Bar with the infinity pool has sunbeds and armchairs in which to relax, enjoy a snack lunch, keep that business rendezvous or while the night away under the stars. 36

The Virtuoso Gourmet restaurant is also an expression of an inseparable link with the territory. With his gastronomic proposal, chef Antonello Sardi, the Michelin star award winner 2020, is able to enhance ever y ingredient of the Tuscan culinar y tradition, all revised in a gourmet key. The raw materials come mostly from the 6 hectares of land surrounding the estate and are widely used in a cuisine that is very attentive to seasonality. The chef ’s dishes excite, also thanks to the wise choices of the sommelier, who accompanies us on an itinerary to discover excellent and little known Tuscan labels. Excellent Carnaroli Rice from Maremma, Firenzuola gorgonzola, peppers, “colatura di alici” (anchovy extract sauce) and coffee powder accompanied by a glass of Pinot Grigio Voltumna are an excellent choice.

The splendid and mysterious Angkor Wat temples – a UNESCO World Heritage site and the largest religious complex in the world – are close to the charming city of Siem Reap, and the southern province of Koh Rong is dotted with pristine beaches, fishing villages on stilts and coral-fringed islands.

affles Grand Hotel D’Ankgor dazzles with the allure of bygone days, gleaming white after a recent makeover that introduced a vibrant new look that blends lavishly with its colonial style. This grande dame, in the historic French Quarter of Siem Reap, has rooms and suites with heritage furnishings and hi-tech, tropical gardens and a splendid swimming pool modelled after the ancient Srah Srang reservoire of the Khmer kings. The original wooden lift in the lobby still glides up and down between floors. In the Conservatory Lounge the period décor, eye-catching new hues inspired by Cambodia’s cerulean skies and the grand piano create a mood of historial and emotional enchantment. The two Royal Villas beside the pool, with one and two bedrooms, have large livingrooms, heritage décor and precious works of art. The third villa is the Spa, a a sanctum of serenity in which to indulge in holistic treatments.

Since time immemorial the capital, its center is the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square to the south. Palaces, temples, tombs, everywhere sprouting the signs of a rich and complex artistic past reflected in contemporary architecture with spots of excellence and charm. Often when reviewing historical photos with long lines of bicycles, one wonders how people were able to cover such distances on two wheels. Eastern Mysteries. The faces we encounter stare at us. They are kind if we ask for something, correct and available. But only the millennials consider us and consider themselves citizens of the world. Those who are over 30 years here are Chinese and that’s it, proud of their past and culture. And no one can blame them.

The Forbidden City for five centuries remained the privileged theater of imperial life during both the Ming and Qing dynasties. Residence, ceremonial center and temple, it is now the largest and most extensive monument in the country. A UNESCO Heritage Site, it has also been the most visited since 1925 when it was opened to the public after the capture of the last emperor. Even though it was discovered that the Great Wall cannot be seen from outer space, it remains one of the most majestic works ever realized. Still today, accustomed to amazing technologies, skyscrapers almost a kilometer high and glass bridges, we pause admiringly before the will of a dynasty to stop the Mongol invaders and to protect the Empire from incursions from the north. As with all walls, these did not serve their purpose: history teaches, but ideas remain.

miles, silence, pristine vegetation. The Purist is a corner outside time, where the beautiful smile of Soim, the driver awaiting us at the airport, welcomes us. Immersed in spectacular greenery with an unmistakable atmosphere, Bali is a dream that becomes reality. The transfer to The Purist is pleasant and includes every comfort. We begin to discover this enchanted island, the only Hindu island in a Muslim archipelago. The temples are numerous, and all invite us to enter. But the place that welcomes us with wide open doors is reached after almost two hours by car and is called The Purist. It is not so much a temple as it is a mystical resort. The Purist is an intimate place, where you can relax with yoga classes or be embraced and cuddled by the vegetation, where you can revitalize your spirit. Here you can hear the sound of silence - the silence with which the sun rises every morning, warming the incredible vegetation only to disappear at the infinite sunsets. 78

nchanting, nestled in the lush greenery of Bali. An evocative and creative design for a Resort that surprises for its large and well-kept spaces, the transparency between inside and outside, its innovative materials. In every corner a refined mood, a sophisticated exuberance with lively and original accents. All the spaces are embellished with refined details and Balinese antiques. The Mulia is the ideal refuge for an experience of great spirituality. Sunrise and sunset are the ideal moments to tune your body and mind with yoga classes. Adnyana, a yoga teacher, who like all balineses, accompanies us to be remembered for her delightful kindness. Bali is the kingdom of this ancient discipline. Practicing it before its crystal-clear waters is to enjoy the purity and culture of this island kissed by gods and the ocean. It means making all the beauty of its landscapes one’s own. In this resort, where everything is possible, afternoon tea is another unmissable moment. From the terrace, enjoying a 360 ° view over the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean, elegance and service are always impeccable and the Mango Cake is special. We experience it hoping to never finish. 80

Enclosed by an infinite horizon, the intense landscapes offered by the large spaces designed by a gentle mountain that are dotted with villages full of charm and history are revealed. The starting point of our journey is the enchanting medieval village of Le Malzieu, enclosed by the walls, which can be admired from its carefully restored towers. Of great interest is the nearby medieval site of Apcher, dominated by the imposing Donjon. From the top of the tower, the gaze is lost over the Margeride. The suggestive Scénovision of St. Alban-sur-Limagnole instead presents, in a modern way, the history of the area. There is, of course, a touch of mystery embodied by the Beast of Gévaudan: a being with legendary outlines responsible for, in the second half of the eighteenth century, various attacks on people. Alongside history, the other thread to follow is nature, starting from the contact with the European bisons of the Sainte-Eulalie reserve. La Truyère cuts through the landscape with its sinuous gorges furrowed by the large metal structure of the nineteenth-century railway viaduct of Garabit. Finally, the paths of the Margeride lead us to the Aubrac natural park with its unforgettable landscapes immersed in silence and solitude. The line of these infinite spaces is interrupted by the ancient Burons: buildings with the characteristic roofs in stone slabs that today allow you to make a stop to taste, as at Cap Combattut, the genuine local cuisine.

universe unfolds before the eyes of the guest, defined by careful plays of light that insinuate themselves between spaces rich in atmosphere and precious objects. A green oasis of hospitality characterized by soft and modern comforts is that of the Château d’Orfeuillette, immersed in the large park that surrounds it while preserving its natural calm. Once you have crossed the threshold of the most prestigious hotel of the Maisons Brunel, animated by the entrepreneurial and creative talents of Christophe Brunel, a universe unfolds before the eyes of the guest defined by careful plays of light that creep between spaces rich in atmosphere and precious objects. Design and fantasy merge with stones and wood, giving intense sensations of intimacy. Everything is refined and extremely warm and welcoming. It is undoubtedly a luxury hotel, but above all it is a lesson in hospitality that is dispensed by Orfeuillette. The furnishings and décor fit perfectly into a classic architectural lexicon of great appeal of the neo-Renaissance castle resulting from the nineteenth-century transformation desired by the savant and philanthropist Théophile Roussel (1816-1903).

y name is Christian and I’m a 27-year-old travel filmmaker with an audience of 2.5 million subscribers/ followers and through this surprisingly profitable career path, I’ve become a self-made millionaire. Five years ago, I was working 9-5 at EY in Vancouver, and I was incredibly unhappy and unmotivated. So I decided to change everything. I quit a great job, sold everything I owned, and bought a one-way ticket to Thailand to try and find a way to monetize my passion for travel and filmmaking. With no money and no plan, I grabbed my GoPro camera and started recording my travel experiences and sharing them on YouTube. When I started, I didn’t have a single photography bone in my body. In fact, I used to be terrified of speaking to the camera! When the camera turned on, my brain turned off. But with time and practice, I went from being

When I look back at my older videos, it reminds me where this journey started and I’m proud of how far the channel has come. But today is no different. There’s a ton of room for improvement and I’m always striving to be better. Since quitting my job and making that life-changing decision over 5 years ago, the Lost LeBlanc brand has become a hugely successful and profitable business. It’s empowered me to travel the world with loved ones while sharing my journey with a community of over 2.5 million people. It’s enabled me to earn more in a week than I could in a full year working at EY. It’s allowed me to travel to around 50 countries and experience some of the most luxurious experiences in the world. The best part is, I get to do these things without spending a penny (sometimes even being paid to share these experiences). Words cannot describe how grateful I am for the life I live today. My passion and a lot of hard work have given me my dream life. The whole world is online and there are countless people looking for entertainment or education and they want to get it from someone like you! Over the past year, my main goal in life has shifted from creating travel videos to teaching others how to build an audience and monetize their love for photography and videography. This is why I spent the last year developing the Lost Creator Academy. The Lost Creator Academy is an online academy with roughly 75 videos and 40 hours of information-packed lessons. From content creator basics to mastering your photography and videography; as well as the insider tips to mastering your business and getting paid! One of my first-ever success stories, Christopher Lau, secured a 3-night all-inclusive stay in the Philippines with under 10K followers on Instagram. At 40K followers, British Airways paid him to travel and he’s recently closed a paid deal for a 20-day safari in Africa.
