Levinhurst, a band that marks a radical change in what we all expected from Lol Tolhurst, and with the support of his wife Cindy Levinson, voice and Dayton Borders on guitar and keyboards. Levinhurst not waive observe the rearview mirror of the past of Lawrence, but it marks a turning point with this debut album.
It has been ten years of edition “Perfect Life”, the initial launch of Levinhurst as a band.A lot has happened since its first production, but today, we recall this recording. For this, The 13th Magazine, has talked with Cindy Levinson, who graciously agreed to this interview and responded with the sweetness that is seen on stage and videos.
Hi Cindy: It’s been ten years of the edition of “Perfect Life”. The final takeoff of Levinhurst as a band. Much has been in the band since that 2004, Tell us a little of those moments, answering us a few questions.
How long it took to write the songs for the álbum? It took us a few months to write these songs. Was the first recording of your life? How
have you felt recording the songs? My first recordings were with Orpheus, Our first project ever. Recording Perfect life was exciting, naive, and very educational. In how much time were recorded “Perfect Life”? It took a month to record. They recorded more songs that have not been included on the album? No, all songs went on the album. Now we start with the songs. I propose to you a game, for each track, I ask for a story or a memory. Do you think well? “Vinti” Instrumental. “Let’s Go”. I came up with the idea to do a count in German on the track, The song had a German vibe to it. “Sorrow” One of my favorites- I love to dance, and the driving rhythm had me grooving along as I sang it! “Sadman” A great song to play live, at the end of the song Lol has a vocal part so it was fun to record this with him! “Lost” I like the haunting feel of this one, of being lost along life’s journey “Insomniac” Instrumental “Despair” This felt like something is chasing me, and I want to run far away. “Hope” Another great song to play live. Had a lot
of fun singing this one! “Behind Me” A song about moving from the past to the present. I really related to these lyrics. We recorded that one in our bedroom! “Perfect Life” This was at the end of our recording sessions so in an act of solidarity we had everyone who was involved on the album sing the vocal line including our manager! “Moremad” My favorite melody wise, I liked the sweetness and flow of this one. It’s like the first son of Levinhurst. How much does that not you hear it whole? I heard it today!! It’s a great album and brings back wonderful memories. To end the interview. Have recently edited “Somewhere, Nothing Is Everything”, an EP, which certainly has me happy, when can we expect a new album? We are currently working on the rest of the songs for our latest album, and hope to finish it before the summer! Thank you for taking me back to our humble beginnings! Love, Cindy
