WHERE OUTSTANDING
STUDENTS GET STARTED
WELCOME Welcome to Reynolds Community College, where outstanding lives get started! Like jazz and baseball, community colleges are a uniquely American invention. We occupy a pivotal role in our country’s educational system, enrolling over ten million students each year – nearly half of the nation’s undergraduates. Community colleges have continued to evolve to better prepare students to be successful in the workforce, or to seamlessly transfer to a college or university – changing lives and livelihoods in the process. I truly believe that there is no more exciting and vital place in the entire higher education sector than the community college. As Reynolds closes in on its 50th anniversary, it’s appropriate to look back at the more than 350,000 students the college has served since 1972. But we also look forward to all the lives we’ve yet to transform. I am excited that you’ve chosen to start or continue your journey in higher education at Reynolds! Sincerely,
Paula P. Pando, Ed.D. College President

REGISTER FOR CLASSES How do credit hours impact your financial aid?
The difference between “drop” and “withdraw.”
You can drop a course online before a specific deadline on the academic calendar, and it varies for each class session (15, 12, 7 and 5 week courses). You DO receive a tuition refund from the course that you drop as long as it is before the last day to drop with a refund.
When planning your class schedule each semester, it is important to know how many credits you’ll need to take in order to remain eligible for your financial aid award.
Less than half time 1 to 5 Credit Hours
You can withdraw from a course in person before a specific deadline on the academic calendar, and it varies for each class session (15,12, 7 and 5 week courses). You do NOT receive a refund of tuition from the course that you withdraw from and it must be before the “last day to withdraw from a class with a grade of W.”
Half time 6 to 8 Credit Hours
Withdrawing does not impact your GPA, but can impact your financial aid.
Office of Student Accommodations
The Office of Student Accommodations (OSA) assists students with documented disabilities to gain access to Reynolds programs, services, and activities in accordance with the Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
Three-quarter time 9 to 11 Credit Hours
If you have a documented learning, physical, or psychological disability, you may be eligible for accommodations. Schedule an appointment with the OSA if you will require accommodations at Reynolds, wish to inquire about services, or drop off documentation.
Full time 12 or more Credit Hours
Our services include registration assistance, referral information, academic accommodations such as note taking, extended time, technology, specialized equipment, and academic counseling, tailored to your special needs.
If you attend less than full-time during any term, your cost of attendance and financial aid award amounts will be adjusted. This could result in reduction or removal of loans or other financial aid. When you drop or withdraw from a class this can also impact your enrollment status. Be sure to know what kind of aid you have and if you are required to carry a specific number of credits in order to remain eligible for that aid.
For more information or to schedule an appointment to request accommodations, contact the OSA by email at OSA@reynolds.edu or call (804) 523-5628 or (804) 523-5290.
