La Trinidad is an area in the Metropolitan Area of Caracas, developed as a residencial suburb during the south east expansion of the city in the second half of 20th century, in the middle of the wealthy Venezuela's Oil era, and in the lands were years before, agricultural activities, related to tobacco, coffe, sugar cane and cocoa were the support of the economics of the conutry. During those years many modern residencial projects, industrial facilites were developed, replacing the old ranch lands. some of them still remain in the skirts of the hills, one of them, an old tobacco ranch, were a series of empty brick cubes for the drying of tobacco leaves were left, and precisely the refurbishment of them, is the object of the project.

The project's lot presents 7 brick cubes of 7x7m , six of them to be preserved, and one of which will be used for an entertainment space that will contain a gym and will be part of the pool; the rest of the cubes will be used as a three level row houses. The site strategy consists of leaving the land as little modified as possible, taking advantage of the exuberant and dense vegetation of the site and forming two large open areas, for public use in the northern side and related to the street and city views, and the other for private use, sheltered by the montain and surrounding trees.

To obtain the public and private areas, it was decided to use the row of cubes as a "dividing wall" adding a volume that unites the assemble and leting the configuration of the units internal areas. In the public areas, towards the street and where there's a greater presence of trees, community activities take place: the gym, pool, flat park, garden , events room, concierge and parkings, for owners and visitors. In the the other side of the "wall" private gardens will serve each housing unit. Additional constructions will not be permitted.

The design strategy for the houses takes advantage of the generated volume (brick cube + added white wall), compacting the units only in the inner spaces, not invading the private green areas, . In the north side the houses closes towards the street and opens towards the southern gardens, for what this facade is conceived as a permeable facade that allows to perceive the totality of the brick volume of each unit, with blinds protecting a crystal faรงade.

N The internal spaces allow to perceive the tectonics of the original elements from all points of the house, enhancing its existence. Glass and reflecting materials for the stais, reinforces this idea. The program of the houses contains on the ground floor, living room, dining room (both with outdoor terrace in connection with the private garden), kitchen, tea room, toilet and staircase; on the medium floor, two bedrooms, bathroom and staircase; on the upper floor, a main room with a large bathroom and dressing as well as a private terrace. The roof is flat and contains conveniently oriented photovoltaic and hot water.
