Lieutenant Governor Hello you lovely people! I hope these last few days of school have been treating you well and that the stress of homework and tests has finally lifted off your shoulders! Congratulations to the Key Club seniors that graduated (or about to graduate) in the past couple weeks. It was really amazing to see so many members that stuck with Key Club since the beginning of their high school careers and I know that the entire division is excited to see everyone strive in college. Thank you to those that came out to the May Joint DCM! Your guys’ spirit and enthusiasm throughout the day was amazing and shoutout to your creative pieing techniques hehe. Don’t worry if you missed the May DCM, more information about the JUNE DCM can be found in this newsletter! Be prepared for games to beat the summer heat and a classic bbq with your fellow Krakens! That’s all I have for now, be on the look out for more divisional updates on my monthly updates aand on the D33 Facebook page!

May Joint DCM Recap
10
Key Clubbers from divisions all over the Seattle area came together for the annual May Joint DCM! Games were played, money was raised, pies were thrown and attendees even got the opportunity to participate in mini service projects. A miracle minute was held for the new district project along with a fundraiser at the hip bubble tea shop ShareTea (in one day we raised over $300!). The slight overcast didn’t stop these members from joining in all the fun! We hope to see you again next year!

Preferred Charities UNICEF UNICEF was created with a distinct purpose in mind: to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path. For over 20 years, Key Club has been a part of Trickor-Treat for Unicef. Every Halloween, Key Clubbers collect money in the signature orange boxes, raising money to support the well-known charity.
CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) was established nationally in 1983 to help children by actively supporting improved health care for millions of young people around the world. CMNH's mission is to generate funds and awareness programs for the benefit of children served by its associated hospitals, now numbering more than 170 nationwide
MARCH OF DIMES
16
The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Key Club takes part in raising awareness by participating in their annual event March For Babies. The rising incidence of premature birth has demanded action, and the March of Dimes has responded by initiating an intensive, multi-year campaign to raise awareness and find the causes of prematurity.
Get to know our Kiwanis partners. VISION PARTNERS Landscape Structures Inc. has been creating innovative playground equipment since 1971. Think of the impact your club could have in your community by constructing a playground as a signature project. Ask your members if giving children a place to play is the right project for your club. See Kiwanis playgrounds and find a local representative at playlsi.com. Nickelodeon’s The Big Help campaign puts kids into action to do something about issues communities face. Kiwanis clubs are encouraged to work with their SLPs on projects like Worldwide Day of Play—when the network goes black and kids are encouraged to head outdoors and help their community. Learn what your club can do to engage at nick.com/thebighelp. The U.S. Army partnership is based on a foundation of shared values. Engaging in local opportunities, U.S. Army personnel connect with Kiwanis family members and provide access to local battalion support and resources. Contact your local battalion to invite soldiers to speak at a club meeting, take part in service projects and become Kiwanis members. goarmy.com.
KEY CLUB CO-SPONSOR Rustic Pathways has more than 30 years of experience leading exceptional international education and service programs. High school students broaden their global perspective while performing meaningful service projects around the world. PROMOTIONAL PARTNERS Scholastic Books partners with the Kiwanis Family to promote literacy outreach programs. Discuss with your club members how a reading oasis for your local school can be woven into your signature service projects and discover the wide array of literacy programs at kiwanisone.org/read. Up with People is a global education organization focused on bringing the world together through service and music. Kiwanis clubs can engage with Up with People by coordinating service projects, hosting the cast in their homes and sponsoring performances as fundraisers.
