The past twelve months have gone by in a flash and it’s farewell a surreal feeling to be writing my last Lt.G letter. I first want to say thank you Division 33 for giving me the opportunity to lead this past year. It was difficult to FROM YOUR follow in the footsteps of some amazing past Lieutenant LIEUTENANT Governors and I had doubts about my capability in the G O V E R N O R position but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the continuous support from each and every member. The beauty about Key Club is that you are constantly given opportunities to grow as an individual. Whether it be a service project, fundraiser or social, I attended events where I saw members step out of their comfort zones and transform into amazing student leaders. Through all the club meetings, service projects, DCMs, and rallies it amazes me to see the passion that each member possesses. Although most of the time I would be working behind the scenes, just know that you’re attendance and spirit at Key Club events always warms my heart. And I’m proud of how much our division has grown as a whole. This journey would not have been possible without the help of so many members and advisors. First off to the faculty and Kiwanis advisors: Thank you for supporting each member and being a vital part to this organization. Special thank you to our Area Administrator Sue Owens for not only supporting me, but the division. And lastly to the members, YOU are the ones that inspire me the most, and I am grateful to be a part of a division that has incredible leaders like you. As the service year comes to an end it’s a bittersweet feeling to be leaving but I know that the division is in capable hand for next year. Continue to lead, serve and make your mark during your time in Key Club. Thank you for an unforgettable year Krakens. With love and service,
Rheanna Borromeo, Division 33 Lt.G

MARCH DCM: PRE-CON
WHO?
This event is MANDATORY for DCON attendees. Message me ASAP if you’re not able to make it!
WHAT?
The last DCM of the service year! Pre-Con is a gathering to get hyped for convention and learn about what’s going down at DCON 2017!
WHEN?
10
March 22nd from 4:30-6:30
WHERE?
Auburn Riverside High School in the Commons
WHY?
Receive spirit packs/shirts, learn Division 33 cheers, meet other members going to DCON!
Wow, can you believe District Convention is only three weeks away? I hope you’re all as excited as I am to travel down to Portland and learn about service, grow leadership skills, make new friends, and more. With that said, I want to make sure that you guys have a fun and stress-free time, so here are 5 tips to make your DCON experience as amazing as possible! 1.BRING FOOD. Lots of food. You’re going to be SUPER hungry at night after Caucusing and the Governor’s Ball. Do yaself a favor and bring a ton of snacks. You won’t be able to leave your room after curfew, so stock up on chips, cookies, juice, bread, Cheez-Its, Oreos, rice, etc. You’ll thank me later! 2. Early bird gets the...breakfast? This year, continental breakfast will be available Saturday morning from 6:00 am - 7:45 am at the Convention Center, so wake up early if you want to grab some yummy food to start off your day! 3. Stay hydrated/don’t be thirsty. Running around from workshop to workshop and cheering in spirit battles will tire you out pretty quickly. Bring a refillable water bottle or one of those 24-packs of water from Costco to share with your roommates. On another note…don’t be thirsty, y’all… No mixing!!!
4. Wear comfy shoes. Or bring an extra pair to change into. Just do it. Especially for the Governor’s Ball. Please please please wear shoes that you know you’ll be able to walk in! You’ll be going up and down stairs, through downtown streets, and riding public transportation. 5. And finally...meet new people! DCON is the perfect opportunity for you to connect with Key Clubbers from all around the PNW and form new bonds within your own division. I know that for those of you who are freshmen or first-time attendees, it can seem a bit intimidating. But the best part of DCON comes from making memories with new friends. Trust me when I say that everyone is super friendly and welcoming. So, don’t be afraid to play icebreakers, be a little silly, and be open to meeting new people! And that’s it! If you keep these 5 things in mind, you’re sure to have a pretty great time. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a message on Facebook or email. Can’t wait to see you at the 68th Annual District Convention! (I’ll be the really short one running around, probably with a coffee in my hand.)
