Basileus Corner Greetings Remarkable Sorors of Rho Chi Zeta Chapter, I am so grateful for many things during this holiday season, family, friends, health and dedicated sorors like you. During the break, I reflected on what is going well in our chapter and where work is needed. I realize we truly need help in understanding the chapter function and communication. Understanding the chapter function is the responsibility of all members not just the officers. So, I encourage you to pick up your handbook and read as well as ask questions. My goal for this Zeta year is to enhance our communication. I will continue to provide you with the weekly update every Tuesday. The weekly update, is a summary of the communication from all levels of our leadership. I not only challenge you to stay informed, but use your gifts and talents to benefit the chapter. Please, take a moment to reflect on the commitment each of us made when we took our Zeta Oath as we were initiated into the organization. Now, ask yourself what can I do to make Zeta Phi Beta and Rho Chi Zeta chapter the best it can be? I value each one of you as member of this Chapter. We have to work together to be a positive influence in Delaware County. Be an engaged member. Support your chapter leaders, and be willing to serve when called upon. Rho Chi Zeta needs you!

Yours in Service,

Sandra Casimir 6

Basileus Inspiration "It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration, I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and a person is humanized or dehumanized. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming.” — J. W. Goethe

Undergraduate Corner (Con’t) Pi Mu Chapter Celebrates 3o years We have worked really hard the past 30 years to establish a name for ourselves at Millersville University. Our organizers Denise Nelson and Regina Moore worked to overcome much adversity. The torch was passed on to the Chartering line in 1983 and the legacy continues today. Sorors came from near and as far as California, Georgia, Massachusetts, and North Carolina to celebrate this milestone in the chapter.

Members of Rho Chi are made of sorors from various undergraduates chapters. This year many celebrate their undergraduate special anniversary. Soror Casimir celebrated with each chapter to represent PXZ chapter celebration! Soror Casimir, Basileus of Rho Chi Zeta and Soror JonesBeulah, Second Anti-Basileus pause for a picture.

The Salisbury School is a dynamic K-12 educational institution where creative and innovative education and learning take place every day. More importantly, students are exposed to the highest levels of learning and instruction in an environment that is safe, and nurturing.

Alexa loves her school and fits right in with her peers. She is giving swimming a break, but picked up soccer in the Fall.

“Beautifully,

Alexa fixed houses for Habitat for Humanity during 2013 Experiential week with School. She hopes to make it to China in 2014!

Brilliantly,

Uniquely You Summit

and Bravely”

Over the past four years UYS has had the unique opportunity to challenge more than 2000 girls throughout the Delaware Valley to become their best selves! They have encouraged them to “Become Who They Are”, empowered them to think and act “Beautifully, Brilliantly, and Bravely”, introduced them to the foundation of being “Uniquely” themselves and asked them to declare—I AM! Alexa Green has attended the Uniquely You Summit for the past two years. She enjoys the speakers as well as meeting new friends.
