This class will encourage inactive adults and seniors with lower extremity pain, joint pain/stiffness and mobility challenges on how to engage in safe and effective exercise. Latericia Green, with Unique Body Studio, a certified wellness and aerobics instructor, will conduct all classes.

Walking With Numbers Walking Program - Walking 100 miles BEGINS SEP 1

This is an independent walking program. Participation can take place at home, neighborhoods, local parks, fitness center etc. The goal is to walk a 100 miles each month. Virtual on Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation social media and caddoparks.org

This independent walking program is designed to get adults/seniors who are inactive up and moving in 2024. Individual will set weekly/monthly personal walking step goals and report walking numbers to our Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator. Incentive prizes will be given to individuals who meet their set goals throughout the challenge. Check caddoparks.org and the Caddo Parish Parks Department’s social media pages for information and resources from Ochsner LSU Health and other area organizations for ways to keep your family and friends safe and healthy. Please join Caddo Parks in the Walking 100 Miles Challenge for a better heart. All you have to do is register, walk, record your steps/miles and share it on our Facebook page Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation and with the Athletic Coordinator at mmurphy@caddo.org.

RECREATION

Youth Crime Prevention

Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation is joining forces with the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office to host crime prevention presentations for youth and teens throughout Caddo Parish. These workshops range from Gun Violence, Cyberbullying to Decision Making, Sexual Assault Awareness, and Dating Violence.

The program is designed to teach our Caddo Parish youth how to remain safe, and make intelligent decisions; but most importantly, providing a platform to discuss the challenges our youth and teens face daily.
