Message From The Editor Retro Communication First, this is the way we USED to communicate. I hope you guys enjoy the newsletter and get a lot out of it. I have struggled over the years with wanting us to communicate more and get the word out about things. But, with our club, the website, Facebook and Forums just haven’t taken off. There is a lot going on at our club. Unfortunately, only a small percentage of the members take advantage of it. We are a pretty large club. I have been talking to people in my travels and most of the clubs run between 20 and 50 people. We have have around 120 members. Wow! So, what do I expect from the newsletter? I want this to be a keystone of information. If we are having an event, I would like to list it. If we are having a work day, I would like to list it. There will also be coverage on these events. I also would like to put intereing news from other clubs, put in their fly-in flyers and stuff like that. We should have messages from the president/officers. We should also have a lot of beginner information that is useful to the new members and people interested in becoming members. This is where we all can help. We have a lot of varying degrees of experiences and some place to start for a beginner or a pilot early in his career is paramount to keeping these pilots engaged and enjoying the hobby. As most who know me, know that I am enthusiastic about the hobby and our club. I am also an ameteur photographer. This gives me an opportunity to play in both worlds! So send me info. If you visit another club, take some pictures and send me some info/story. If you build a new plane, let me know. If you have anything you would like to add, please send it in. This newsletter will have some major transformation, as I get it where I want it to be. But, hopefully, in the end it will be a fun tool to let everyone know what’s going on. Rich Whitlow Krzy4RC

Redstick Fall Fly-In October 11, 2014 Our club will be hosting our annual fall fun fly on Saturday, October 11. Come join us for all the fun. This is a great opportunity for all the club members to come together and enjoy the hobby we love so much. The membership count has never been higher and this is a great way to meet some of the new members as well as visit with some of the oldies. We encourage you to bring family and friends to introduce them to the world of RC. All piston planes and helicopters are invited (sorry no turbines because of limited air space). Got something to swap or sell, this is the perfect time to bring it out. If we have enough pilots we may even have a combat event, bring out your bloodies, versus and other small electrics so we can go at each other. There is a $15.00 landing fee, for all pilots which includes lunch. All spectators are free, lunch will be provided at a minimal fee. The pilots meeting will be held at approximately 9:00. AMA cards are required and pilots are expected to follow all AMA and Red Stick RC rules. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!!!!

September Meeting Review There was a short meeting held in September, since our president was unable to attend. There was some reporting on membership and finances. We are at approximately 120 members and are finances are good. There was also discussion on the successful Heli Event that Redstick hosted. There were a lot of positive comments on the event and lots of people have committed to coming again next year. We also earned a little money as a bonus. There was one safety issue discussed. WHere a high energy maneuver was done towards the pits and the heli had a blade issue and self destructed in mid air and dropped to the ground. Very few pieces went more that a few feet from the wreckage. Discussion on this came down to the fact that we ought to address these style of meneuvers, when there additional people on the flight line. (see the pictures on this event later in this issue)
