faithfulness are new every morning and who is always doing “new things”. Are we not bubbling with excitement and anticipation over the past 2 months of what God was doing in JMK? The prophetic phrase in Sis Angeline’s article in the last issue of King’s Scroll, “ 2017 is a year of new beginnings and blessings.” has come alive! Do we not see the new launches of at least 3 programmes targeted to equipped the Saints for the end time ministry namely, the Diploma of College of Prophets (COP), School of Prophets (SOP) which is a shorter course version of COP, and the School of Worship (SOW), the last two being completely new additions? And the enrolment numbers for COP (about 50% more) and SOW were very encouraging! The other blessing the Almighty had bestowed on JMK was the increase in attendance to WTC meetings as well as the main service together with His endowment of the church’s stable financial health. PRAISE THE LORD! Do we also not hear testimonies of God’s workings in bringing about healing and revivals through the various mission trip launches overseas, some of them involving JMK members; the blessings materialising in the lives of the needy and helpless via our humanitarian efforts (one of which is the Sri Lanka Well Project)? All praise to God! However, Isaiah 43:18,19 also reminds us that God is continually doing new things. There is no time to live in the laurels of the “former things” even if we had ascribed them as God’s working and gave Him glory. Each Batch of Continue from Pg 2... !1

Mission Trip to Taiwan By Bro George Ong

I was very excited to join Pastor Melvyn and brother Michael Lee on this Mission Trip to Taiwan (from 2 Mar to 7 Mar 2017), the first reason being that I was pretty sure I would learn lots from brother Michael who is my roommate. Secondly, both or us would likely get to spend much time with Pastor Melvyn and would hear many of his experiences from his walk with our God. Just some background information of the trip - the main place of ministry was in Taichung, at Pastor Barnabus' church, which was the Dali Muyi Taiwan Lutheran Church where Pastor Melvyn would engage the church on 5 sessions of teaching and ministry and the main focus was on “Refining the Oil”. The fellowship with brother Michael was awesome. We shared our stories and experiences and learned a lot from each other. One of the encouraging testimonies brother Michael shared was that he has been doing street evangelism for 4 years now, and he has loads of experiences and advices for anyone who wants to do the same. He shared how he requested God to send souls in his way so that he may witness to them. We also confided with each other on our personal struggles and exciting experiences that happened to us (mainly him, for he has much more!) On the 3rd teaching session (afternoon session), while Pastor Melvyn prayed for the people after the teaching session, there was a lady who had a manifestation. She kept screaming and screaming. This lady who looked absolutely gentle when I first saw her had suddenly turned into a screaming maniac. Normally, I would be somewhat scared, but this time I was strangely concerned for her, and I believe it was the Presence of God that brought this calmness. Pastor Melvyn later cast that demonic spirit out and delivered the lady from this "mountain spirit". This was probably my first full experience of seeing a demon being cast out. My exciting experience happened on the second night meeting during the 4th session, which was a meeting for the youth in the area, and we were told that many youths from around the area came and this was the first time the whole place was filled with youths and their parents. That night after dinner, Pastor Melvyn said, “George and Michael, tonight you will pray for the youths.” I was thinking to myself “… huh? Pray what? How and what do I pray for the youths?” So I asked pastor Melvyn, "Pastor, what do I pray for them?” Pastor’s reply was simply, “Bless them.” Before heading out for the session, Pastor Melvyn asked me how I was feeling. Honestly, I was scared. I did not want to mess up the situation and I did not want my flesh to get in His way. I told Pastor Melvyn that I was scared and have no confidence in myself at all, but I have full confidence in God! Pastor Melvyn shared his testimony to the youths, which I felt was really funny but inspiring. Then came the time to minister and pray for the youths. Pastor anointed Michael and I, and sent us to pray. I felt the stirring in my spirit. So I looked at the faces and thought to myself and whispered a prayer, “oh man… now I have to actually pray for them, oh God, please help me, I can do nothing without You.”Since I had the stirring in my spirit, I prayed for many youths and asked God to stir their spirits as He had stirred mine. After which, I asked many of them if they felt anything in their tummy. All of them had that excitement in their faces! Wow, God is so amazing! They felt the stirring in their spirit man, so I encouraged them to spend time to dialogue with God, and to seek Him out earnestly. Continue from Pg 3…

Mission Trip to Taiwan Continue from Pg 2…

I used to be skeptical about people being “slain in the Spirit”, having never experienced it myself. And for every person I prayed for, there were helpers behind ready to catch anyone in case they were “slain”. I was thinking to myself, people falling down isn't something that was going to happen when I pray for them. Following that thought, I was to pray for a particular tall young man, and as I gently tapped on his chest, proclaiming that the peace and joy of the Lord to be filled in him, he fell backwards! I was saying within me,” no no, don’t fall!” But he fell, and the catchers caught him. I was shocked… because I actually had a word for him and I was not done praying for him. Later on, after everyone was prayed for, I saw this young man lingering around, so I asked him why he fell. He said he didn’t know why but just fell. I asked him if he felt I pushed him, he said he didn't think so, he just fell with his eyes closed. Then he asked me if I had a word for him. I said that I did. The picture I had in my mind for him showed chains of addiction from computer games were broken by the Lord. So I asked him if he plays computer games to which he said no. Then I asked if he played video games, and he responded no. I was starting to feel maybe I got it wrong. Then I asked what about cell phone games. He said, “Yes, I am addicted to using the cell phone for games. I can’t focus on my studies.” Bingo! So I told him what the Lord had done for him, that He has given him freedom over this addiction, and that it was now time to make provision to move away from the addictive lifestyle. I am very grateful to our God that He is so gracious as to teach me in this way! All glory goes to God. I won’t have been able to do what I did without His wisdom and help! I learned so much about how the Holy Spirit led me when praying for others and am so thankful for the opportunities that Pastor Melvyn and brother Michael availed to me. Also, what they both shared in the duration of the journey there and back was priceless. I hope this will be an encouragement to all who are considering getting on mission adventures with Pastors Steven and Melvyn.

COP and SOW will become “former things” eventually and every new launch of COP and SOW or other new programme is a “New Thing”. The Kingdom of God is dynamic - we need to keep moving on. The disciples did not remain static at Jerusalem. They moved on to Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world and because of their obedience to the dynamic call of the Great Commission, all of us sitting in the auditorium of JMK are ushered into the Kingdom! Dear Brothers and Sisters, besides the church, God may also be doing new things in each of our individual lives as His sons and daughters. The question the Lord asked in Isaiah 43:19 is “do you not perceive it?”. There needs to be a sensitivity on our part to perceive what He is going to do in our lives. Forget the former things and strive towards the new launches He will reveal to us. Amen! Bro Francis Leong
