The
KING’S SCROLL NEWSLETTER OF JESUS MY KING CHURCH
AUGUST 2016 ISSUE
Greeting in the Victorious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Thank God for the line-up of events in the last 2 months and the months ahead! Indeed our God was, is and will be present in all these events with all His guidance, providences and promised successes and victories! “Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold of eternal life. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” - 1 Tim 6:12
The definitions of the Christian walk are aplenty. Some see it as a walk of grace, peace and serenity. Others claim it as a life of religious observance. Yet a good many describe it as a path of providence of wealth, health and the good life. While each contains partial elements of truth, they are often distorted to suit the human desires, aspirations and conveniences, and the enemy will ensure such distortion is amplified many times.
ServiceTimes Sunday Service - 10am
However, what matters most is what is prescribed in and by the truth of God’s Word. On many occasions, Paul gave the glimpse of the Christian walk as a race, a fight, or a harvest field. (2Tim 2:4,5). There is therefore something to do or participate in after salvation. The Author of salvation has not placed a full stop at the point of salvation such that believers await ascension to heaven after receiving our Lord Jesus into their life. The warrior mode has just begun after salvation! Becoming a member or citizen of God’s Kingdom comes with it privilege, excitement as well as responsibility! There is a battlefield to enter in, a race to run and a harvest to reap! Each of us is given a role defined by the destiny for which we are called, and it is our business to seek out this role and act upon it in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Then the fight has to do with faith – not sight. It is a spiritual warfare where human efforts and power of the flesh will not win. Sight may see natural wins, only Faith claims supernatural victory! Any spiritual battle entered in with less than the power of the Holy Spirit will not prevail. The point here is that when God gives us a warrior assignment, He also provides the resources to ensure victory and success! Prayers and fasting are the indispensable know-how we have to engage in as a significant strategy of the Lord’s battle plan. The rest is the Lord’s part in fighting the enemy! Dear brothers an sisters, let us get engaged in the warrior mode right now, avail ourselves in battle positions defined by the destiny He has for us, move on to participate and lay hold of the already-won victory God has made possible! All Glory to Him! Amen! Brother Francis Leong

J M K FAMILY DAY - Bro Gideon -
Youths
from JMK gathered on Friday night for a time of worship, sharing by Pastor Steven, and of course, for some games and fellowship over food. The next morning greeted us with breakfast of tuna and egg-mayo sandwiches, prepared lovingly by some of the youths, while the rest of the JMK family started to arrive for the JMK Family Day/Baptism event. It was a time of rejoicing as we stood as a church, with the sun and sand, to witness the baptism of several members and their family in the waters of East Coast Park. We thank God for giving us such a beautiful weather while the baptism was on-going, and subsequently cooling us by rain after we adjourned back into the chalet.

J M K FAMILY DAY ... Continue from Pg 2
The games team had initially planned some outdoor games to be played, however, due to the rain, it could not proceed as planned. That did not stop their spirits as they stirred the JMK family together through the various indoor games as planned alternatives. I must applaud their creativity and energy as they went about conducting these activities as well as facilitating interaction and bonding among the members. Despite the rain, various activities were happening on their own, sometimes spontaneously among groups of people who were initially unfamiliar with each other. Some gathered on the dining table for a
game of scrabble, others engaged in various games on the floor, while the rest gathered for chats over drinks. Nearing the evening, we also started our BBQ fire and the caterer arrived. Members started to barbecue various meats, seafood and vegetables and we were all very well fed. Needless to say, it was indeed an event-filled, fun-filled and food-filled time at JMK's family day 2016!
