DECEMBER 2017 ISSUE

Greeting in the Name of our Lord Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our Faith! When David wrote Psalms 130:1, which says, “Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord ….”, he meant more than just desperation. He defines for us the Dimension of Faith. The depths can be the scariest of all places to be in. Imagine the rock bottom of a dry well, the deepest seabed of oceans, or the lowest recesses of underground caves depths spell darkness, captivity, pressure, intimidation, fear and loneliness. Over a metaphoric annotation, Depths signify the dimensions of our needs - and we call upon God at different depths or levels of needs. For some, their depths may just be passing a driving test, for others, it may be a humongous financial crisis, yet for some, it comes in the form of adverse health issues or for a few, relationship hiccups. Whatever the depths we may be in, the overriding advantage of the child of God is that he can cry out to his God. “Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord” is a faith statement we can just utter anytime, anywhere, just replace the word “depths” with the circumstances you are facing at that time, and heaven’s deliverance and peace which David experienced will be yours too! The Dimension of our Needs calls for a Dimension of our Faith. The deeper our needs are, the greater the faith level that is needed. As a child of God matures, his faith dimension grows, and God will allow him to transcend into another dimension of life challenges in the good measure of His will. And it works both ways - through victory over the challenges, his faith grows further! In Rom 12:3, Paul wrote, “ … each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.” Yet all these happen under the loving watch of God over His children, conditioning their faith in tandem to the allowed circumstances. Journeying into God’s Seasons For Our Lives By Sis Debbie Ng I

received the following word from the Lord during my trip to Taiwan in August 2017: “As for you, if you walk before Me… doing all that I have commanded you… then I will establish you…” (2 Chronicles 7:17) The Amazing Maze! The Lord’s word became clearer when Pastor Steven prayed over me at the closing session of the College of Prophets on 21 September 2017: “So therefore you have come to this point of surrendering your talents, your thought patterns, your gifts, your acquired knowledge, to the surrendering of only one – the Lord’s way. And in the Lord’s way you will find peace, in the Lord’s way you will find direction. In the Lord’s way you will find fulfilment for what is ahead of you; for the Lord will not bring you back in U-turn; for the Lord’s way is one way. Just keep going forward and you will find your fulfilment… what God has prepared you for all these years. Now you have taken the first step to walk into a maze where you don’t know – turn left, turn right? Somehow the Lord‘s goodness is guiding you out of the maze. You will come to a small forested type of situation. Don’t worry, you will see the light.”

As I sought the Lord, I was prompted to study His Word as espoused in the Song of Songs (SOS), using the Commentary by Watchman Nee. His emphasis was not on matters pertaining to the sinner but rather on those concerning the advancement of the believer. My Call to Counselling Like the Shulamite woman in SOS who was on the receiving end of the fruits of the Lord’s labour, life for me in the 1980s was flowing with blessings: promotion and a fully paid summer school at the University of Wales. Life has never been so good. “My beloved is mine; and I am His” (2:16) - it was Christ for me! But, I was not yet wholly for Christ. And just like the Shulamite woman in SOS 2:10 where the Lord called her to “come with me” a sister prophesied over me at the School of Prophets (now defunct) in 1992: “The Lord says He has called you into the ministry of counselling. This is the time of preparing you to be a vessel to encourage His people.”

Journeying into God’s Seasons For Our Lives Continue from Pg 2… Counselling was never my forte – I am a thinker, an organiser, a commander - I do not hold my heart in my hand. But God chose to use me, a willing vessel of opposite personality. And so I entered into a season where the Lord permitted my world to be turned upside down to “live the life of the cross experientially” and to “express the power of His resurrection”. God sealed His calling through Prophet Chuck Flynn in September 1996: “And yea I have sealed your forehead with the understanding of wisdom. And the Lord has given you great expertise in many faceted areas. Yea this is your forte… but now I am lifting you in to a recognition of glory. And there will be diverse kinds of wisdom and you will be expertise in areas that I will open up for thee. So don’t be hesitant. You have been given a compass of anointing.”

Through my own struggle of inadequacy and my own pastor’s reservation on my calling, Dr Gary Gregor brought comfort from the Lord in 1997: “So many have called you rebellious because you have expressed your opinion. But God says you are not. I have seen your heart. I’ve placed my anointing upon you and you shall go forward saith God”

At that point of time the only paper I owned was the Chartership to be a Registered Librarian in UK and the International Graduate Summer School - not a degree was in sight. I was hesitant to leave my well-earned position. When the Lord’s highest purpose is thwarted by our lack of response, we need a new encounter with Him! Circumstances have changed in my place of employment. After some 20 years of service, a younger team has come in; things were beginning to be hard to bear. It was time to leave the organisation. Obediently but with reluctance, I left my comfortable position as Head of Department In 1998 at the age of 48. “Without receiving new grace from Him, we will lose what we once possessed”. Dr Gary Gregor continued to bring God’s calm assurance: “You have taken a step of faith. Know that I will cause all things to work. You will meet the challenge for I have loosed it on you in Jesus’ name.”

And upon my return in 1999: “God did not tell him (Abraham) everything but He told Him as he went. Get ready to move in faith. Get ready to trust the Lord… for He is going to guide you. Wisdom is going to come. God is loosing you. He is loosing you. He is loosing you in a step of faith. Hallelujah!”

Journeying into God’s Seasons For Our Lives Continue from Pg 3… Soon after, I was offered a position of Counsellor with a big local church. But God knowing my struggles, restored my joy and gave me a position of command once again in 2001. Everyone was awed at the Lord’s blessings in my life at the age of 51 and even a promotion to a higher level at the age of 56! With a desire to hone the skills of direct work in counselling, I left the position of “high flyer” to join the education service. During those 10 years I completed the route from primary school to junior college. I learnt about the challenges of youth and the stress of families. The social fabric is fraying… Holding fast to my calling for some 20 years, I officially retired at the age of 67 this June. Along the way the Lord has blessed me with a Bachelor’s and three Master’s degrees together with a string of certificates and professional qualifications. This was my plea: “What is the plan you have for me Lord? I do not have many years left for ministry…” In 2016 when I was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer, He healed me almost instantly. The annual review this year still showed the same. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) By His grace, He led me to the College of Prophets and Jesus My King Church to continue my journey with the assurance that I will see the light. Co-Worker With The Lord “I am my Beloved’s and my Beloved is mine.” (SOS 6:3) This expression from the heart of the Shulamite woman showed her shift in focus of life from self, to the glorious Person of the Lord Jesus Himself and rests on faith alone. To get to this stage, we need the seal from heaven. At the graduation ceremony of the College of Prophets, Prophet Sadhu taught us that the seal will come when we begin to grow closer to the Lord in an intimate relationship with Him. “Father, just as you are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that you have sent Me. I have given them the glory that you gave Me, that they may be one as We are one I in them and You in me - so that they may be brought to complete unity.” (John 17: 21-23)

And so the journey continues... Sis Debbie Ng

The King’s Men’s Geylang Adventure By Bro Emmanuel On

26 Oct 2017, a group of JMK’s King’s men met up to participate in a “Geylang Adventures Tour”, primarily organised to understand and have a better insight on the lives of migrant workers in Singapore and to provide them with a glimpse of the activities taking place in the backyard of Jesus My King Church. This was pertinent so that we can continuously intercede with greater understanding of the current needs of the JMK neighbourhood.

The tour started off with our tour guide, Yin Zhou, explaining to the group on the measures taken by the Singapore Police Force after the recent riot in Little India. Some of these measures include additional cameras in the corner of every alternate street, infra-red cameras at the top of the overhead bridges and constantly spraying water on certain open spaces so that migrant workers would not sit around.

We then walked over to a popular stall where migrant workers would buy fresh meat, fish and vegetables at very affordable prices to cook their daily meals. We were also told to look out for certain transactions that were taking place around the same location involving the selling of enhancement tablets that were targeted at men. Next, we were introduced to some beer gardens and were asked to observe the behaviour of the crowd. As we walked up an overhead bridge, Yin Zhou brought to the group’s attention that the bridge was the divider between the ‘clean’ side of Geylang and the side which contain viceactivities. He made us guess approximately how many people there would be as we were about to walk down the street corner.

To our surprise, what looked like a dilapidated street, turned out to be a busy one with throngs of people involved in open table gambling sites. As we strolled further down the street, we saw men soliciting for sex; it is illegal for ladies to solicit by law, hence the presence of these men. We were also told to observe that many Chinese clans are situated in Geylang, primarily because of their prime location to the city centre.

The King’s Men’s Geylang Adventure Continue from Pg 5… In addition, we saw a lot of buses loaded with tourist from mainland China constantly coming to Geylang. We were told that these were villagers who had come to gamble in Marina Bay Sands Casino. Most of them ended up losing all their money through gambling; they ended up staying in Geylang organising vice-activities to recover their money, just to make enough to pay for their flight ticket back to China.

As the King’s men were walking through these streets, we took the opportunity to speak in tongues discreetly and released God’s presence and carrying out a prayer walk basically. We prayed for God’s mercy and wisdom to be upon the people to avoid participating in the viceactivities. We then headed to an authentic Geylang Chinese-style dinner which included several local dishes like ‘Beef Horfun’ and ‘Pork Ribs’ only to name a few.

After dinner, we were back on the street, this time, to look out for the abuse of the Codeine drug. We saw a lot of empty bottles and syringes lying at the corner of one street. They were in fact illegally used by migrant workers together with a bottle of ‘Red Bull’ to keep themselves awake at night in order to work overtime on several construction projects.

We ended the tour by walking down a row of back alleys where we were told to observe what the migrant workers were doing - most of them were surfing the internet and calling their families back home.

All in all, the tour was definitely insightful as we were previously not aware of many activities that are taking place in Geylang. With this, let us continue to keep Geylang in our prayer radar, and ask the Lord to release His power in breaking down of strongholds and territorial spirits that are holding the area in captivity.

All Glory and Honour be to God!

Continue from Pg 1… cell meeting bible study session, a significant take-way was the truth that, “Challenges in Life is a collective platform on which we encounter God” This calls for a re-look at challenges and circumstances that we come into confrontation with - to recognise that these are divinely packaged for divine purposes! Another observation of Psalms 130:1 comes from the word, “Out”. David said, “Out of the depths I cry…" He didn't say “ IN the depths …” When he cried to God, there was already a confidence that deliverance would come - that he would be OUT of the DEPTHS! This is what prophetic prayer is all about. This is what “warrior-style" faith and prayer is like! Speak victory, speak deliverance, speak pulling down of strongholds even before the answer comes! Another prerequisite for victory and deliverance is that we must be willing to be delivered - a willingness to be OUT of the depths. God will not pry open our hands and take over a situation or a circumstance we want to hold tightly on to. We need to release our grips and open our hands and say, "Dear Lord, here are these, take over!” Dear Brothers and Sisters, we are so blessed with the current series of messages on the Faith of the Warriors. It is time and the season now, that we should gear up and hop on the chariot and embark on a new Journey of Warrior-Styled-Faith that is so much needed to fulfil God's appointed destinies! Amen!
