in the Name of our Great God, who take personal interest in our lives and being. When Apostle Paul was in Athen, he came across an altar with the inscription: “To the unknown god.” He then took the opportunity to share the Gospel of the true God to the Athenian people. Acts 17:22-26. Isn’t it pitiful that the Athenians were worshipping an unknown God? Why were they doing that? The prime reason is that you will regard someone as unknown to you if you have no knowledge of him; there is absolutely no engagement with him, no communication with him and the right term to use is he is a total stranger! The inscription is just a cover for their ignorance or religiousness. It broke Paul’s heart to see that that the Athenians are so near and yet so far from the true God! The Bible says in Acts 17:16 that “his (Paul’s) spirit was provoked within him as he saw the city was full of idols”. Sometimes, it is not only the Athenians who are pitiful. There are also Christians who do not know their God! We hope this statistics is small and it will never ever apply to those of us in JMK! Amen! However, some evaluation and pondering is sometimes needed. Does it ever happen that we are so busy fingering WhatsApps texts that we haven't a minute to spare to pray & talk to God? Or are we hoping that God has a Whats-App account & we make him a Chat-group member? Does it ever happens that we browse through every other post of the Facebook but haven't got a moment to read the Bible? Why isn't God my Facebook friend, and make posts when I am either asleep or busy clicking “likes” on other people’s posts to suit my convenience? No wonder God become unknown to such Christians! Today the waysides, the stoney grounds and the choking thorns in the Parable of the Sower assumes different forms called smart devices, social medias and technological advances. Continue on Pg 4… !1
