DECEMBER 2018 ISSUE
Greeting in the Name of our Lord Jesus, who enables us to soar with wings like eagles to the heights of our destiny! Once again, we are near to the finishing line of the year and very close the entry point of another. On behalf of the pastoral and leadership team, I want to speak the Lord’s blessings into the lives of anyone reading this newsletter that God will touch you with a new level of anointing and maturity in the spirit and there will be new kingdom adventures lined up for you in 2019! Isa 40:31 is a timely word for all of us during this season. It says, “ …but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (ESV). There are 2 essential phases to springboard our lives into the exciting destiny that God has tailor-made for every believer - one is the Waiting Phase and next is the Soaring Phase. The first must precede the second. The Waiting Phase constitutes the defining moments of intimate relationship with our Saviour, our knowing Him in great depths, our worshipping of the Almighty in adoration of His greatness and grace. These are also moments of trusting him over every circumstance of life, letting go of things that displease Him and surrendering to Him all that we can’t handle, letting Him take over, and presenting our lives before Him, as a living sacrifice. As we go through this phase in sincerity and truth, a renewal will take place inside out. The Bible says, there will be a renewal of strength! Waiting upon the Lord with much prayer and fasting is going to put on us a mantle of strength & vitality. New pinions will grow. New claws will emerge. The strength of the Lord is going to permeate our spirit man! Continue on Pg 7…

Birth of The JMK Tamil Service By Bro John Vinoth
Dear Family in Christ, thank you for giving me this opportunity to give a testimony of the glorious deed that the Lord has done in our midst. All glory to Lord Jesus for speaking to Pastor Steven on starting this Tamil Ministry and giving us the functional ministry team as well as the support from Jesus my King church members.
Our God is a faithful God. Sunday 4th November 2018 was the day of our inauguration of the first Tamil Service in Jesus My King Church, from 4pm to 6pm. Pastor Steven shared through a video message on how the Lord has been restoring everything he had lost. One of these was a Tamil Church, that he had to let go a few years ago in Malaysia. Now the Lord has started this Tamil Ministry in JMK. The scriptures says,
‘His work is honourable and glorious, And His righteousness endures forever. He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; The Lord is gracious and full of compassion’ – Psalms 111:3-4’ God’s word is always true and the Lord is faithful to all those who have put their trust on Him. In psalm 111, we can observe the psalmist praising God because of His Faithfulness and His righteousness towards His people. Indeed, when we know about God, we will also know about His nature. His nature is always good.
The Lord was gracious and compassionate to gather 42 people in our first service. Many came and testified that the service was moving and touching hearts. This good report made the team praise and thank the Lord even more.
The Tamil ministry team was on fire and are willing to respond to God’s invitation to serve the Tamil speaking community. The preparation had been going for the past one year, and the inauguration is the outcome of God’s grace and the team’s unity and perseverance.
We would like to thank Elder Hong Leong who represented Pastor and the church for blessing the team and staying with us throughout the whole service.
We would also like to thank the faithful JMK ushers who joyfully welcomed God’s people and also served at the dinner fellowship. All of us enjoyed God’s goodness and mercy all throughout the fellowship, and we praise God for His faithfulness towards us for the joyous Tamil ministry inauguration. Tamil service is on every 1st & 3rd week of each month from 4 to 6pm. Do invite your Tamil friends to the service. Thank you.

Mission Trip to Hsinchu Mountain, Taiwan By Bro Francis Leong
From 25 – 28 Oct 2018, Pastor Steven led a 8-member team from JMK on a mission trip to Taiwan. The team comprised of Sis Angeline, Bro Michael, Sis Esther Goh, Bro Kok Loon, Sis Lily, Bro Francis & Sis Esther Fong. Essentially the team was to minister to the tribal youth through a Youth Conference to be held high up on the Taiwanese mountain. Besides the Conference messages, incorporated in the sessions included house visits to some tribal households and the tambourine dance training for the youths.
The house visitations were planned before the conference proper commenced. Together with the youth and some elders, the team visited some 3 – 4 households, blessing them with daily provisions and necessities, such as rice and adult pampers as well to pray for the sick in the households. A highlight of the visit was this household belonging to a granny who was 80 years old. God had so blessed her that at her age, she is able to go to the church to worship God with minimum assistance.
Another remarkable thing about her was that she prophesies and what she prophesied came to pass. The villagers did not believe her prophecies initially, but when what she prophesied came to pass one by one, they believed. She was regarded as a spiritual granny in the mountain. During the visit she actually prophesied over Pastor Steven and pray for him and the team. Amazing!
The Lord was using Pastor Steven powerfully as he delivered the conference messages throughout all the preaching sessions and many youths were touched and received revelations from heaven. The ministry sessions following the preaching saw many overwhelmed by the anointing of the Holy Spirit and many were in tears, inclusive of the leaders and elders.

During the first tambourine dancing training, Sis Angeline, assisted by Sis Lily, taught the youth how to negotiate the dance moves with the tambourine rhythms, aligning each move with unique worship themes. The youth shown enormous enthusiasm and were seen picking up the steps very quickly. The dance training actually was to prepare the youth for a presentation during what is termed as “The Aborignal Celebration Night” where conference participants from different tribes would showcase dances peculiar to their tribes. The youth were treated with a sumptuous dinner, which include a big roasted pig specially prepared for the occasion.
In the second tambourine dance training, Sis Angeline included a session of ministry where she led the entire group of youth in a prayer of repentance, re-consecration and re-dedication to the Lord. Following which, we prayed as couples for each and every youth, standing in proxy of their parents and help them release forgiveness to their parents for whatever wrong done to them. At the same time we also released forgiveness and love on behalf of their parents. In the process, we realized many of them do not experience parental love. During the ministering, many of them were in tears. So were we. It was such a moment of release of emotional baggage by the Holy Spirit!
During the testimony time on the final night session, many of the youth came forward to share how God had given them revelations and renewal of body, soul and spirit as well as release from negative emotions. Praise the Lord!
All of us see this trip as a great eye-opener for us to understand needs from another culture and from another angle. We also recognized that the hunger of these tribal youth could only be filled by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and God’s powerful release of His grace. We pray that the zeal that was ignited in the tribal youths through this conference will continue to burn and will contagiously impact their counterparts as they go back to the cities where they work or study. May God continue to move powerfully over Taiwan and establish His Kingdom there! Amen!
To God be the Glory!

2018 - a Year of His Favour By Bro Emmanuel
2018 has been a memorable year; one that my family and me definitely cannot forget!
The year started out with God providing a few different places for us to rent at the end of 2017. We stayed in a brother’s place for about 6 months in 2016 and thereafter rented another place for another 6 months in Sengkang and Tampines. Looking back, God provided timely funds into our account on a monthly basis to pay our landlords without missing any payment at all. Little did we realise that God’s plan was greater. He actually allowed us to go through this period to make us understand that we should put our trust only in Him and not in man.
In January this year, God had clearly called me into teaching as he opened up numerous ways for me to be inducted into the Ministry of Education (MoE). This was through a series of confirmation and I was given a contract for a year to teach in a Primary School. Having worked for eight years in the banking sector and four years of doing my own brokerage business, teaching in a Primary school would seem the least likely career path that I had in mind. Nevertheless, I prayed about this matter and it was clear that our God knows best; I humbly obeyed His calling by taking up the offer from MoE.
A few months had passed and I could clearly see His hand and favour upon my family and career. I had favours from my Student Leaders and I know this job was definitely from God. God then spoke to us through a prophecy that his year, we would be getting our very own place. He spoke to me during several mornings as I waited upon His presence that; unless He builds my house, those who build it labour in vain. I have come to understand to keep serving Him and do His will; not worry about tomorrow. Two months later, God provided a new place for us. You see, we had lost a huge amount of money three years ago for a downpayment that we put down for a four bedroom DBSS flat in Pasir Ris on the thirteenth storey. As a result of not being able to secure a loan, we had to forgo the downpayment.

2018 - a Year of His Favour Continue from Pg 5…
This time round, God provided another flat for us also on the thirteenth storey, but at half the cost of the previous flat. Since the house is from God, the HDB appointments and loan transactions came through smoothly. Before we know it, we managed to move from our previous flat into this flat that God had provided. Renovations were minimal as most sections of the house remained intact and well-maintained. We always prayed to God for a house of our own and to use it to Glorify His name by being a blessing to others.
In July this year, we started to open up our house for the monthly cell meetings. I could see the look on every cell members’ face as they were extremely delighted for us. We thanked God for being so Faithful to us all the time. Two years ago, all these seemed impossible when we were given a week’s notice and asked to leave from my parents’ place. All things are possible with God and those who believe in Him will never be put to shame. The reason for this is that, my parents’; the very parents’ that asked us to leave their house after they found out that I had accepted Jesus Christ as my Personal Lord and Saviour, had requested to live with us in our new place. I was astounded by this request as our God had lifted us up and affirmed us that those who believe in Him will never be put to shame! We agreed to my parents’ request and within weeks, they moved in and are currently staying with us ever since.
I could see the look on their faces as they felt really comfortable staying with us and embraced their three grandchildren. God brought restoration into this family simply by turning the hearts of the Fathers to their sons and the sons to their fathers. Today, my parents do not object when we worship in front of them in our place; their helper uses words like ‘God bless you’ and ‘Amen’. I could see that their lingo and lifestyle are changing. God is definitely working on their lives and I can’t wait to discover what He has in store for them. In fact, God recently told us that , “Salvation is coming to this house very soon, not just my parents and siblings but my relatives as well.”
God was not done yet for 2018. After ten years of marriage, He allowed us to have a proper covenant with Him on our tenth anniversary of marriage this year. I had married my wife the Muslim way ten years ago. We never did have a church wedding. This year though was different; we had our very own church wedding with our daughters as the flower girls and our son as the ring bearer. It was indeed a momentous occasion as Erin and I exchanged our vows in the midst of tears of happiness after ten years of waiting.
Towards the end of this year, I was accepted into the Post Graduate Diploma Program (PGDE) at the National Institute of Education (NIE). Clearly, our God had made this possible as I was invited to sign a three year bond with my two sureties and the whole process took place seamlessly. The God who had told me not to worry about tomorrow had now allowed me to focus on studying while getting paid by the Government. How awesome indeed! I truly thank God for His Love and Faithfulness. He never once did fail us; on the contrary we are always the ones failing Him with our imperfect character yet through His Grace and Mercy, He continually forgives us.

The icing on the cake is this; the God who goes before us and who is our rearguard, had all things planned out perfectly. Recently, He blessed us with our fourth child who is due to be born mid next year. As I waited for Him one morning, the Holy Spirit, in His kindness, told me the gender of the baby and the name that He has decided for the baby. I am so looking forward to proclaiming all the promises of God upon our lives as I have now learnt to accept the paradigm shift of focussing on the things above and not the things of this world. My believe going forward is this; totally trust and depend on Him so that His will can be done in our lives. Seek His direction, then do my best and leave the rest to Him.
After all that has happened in 2018 alone, I vouch with all my heart, soul, mind and strength that our God is my Hope of Glory as He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. Let me leave you with this apposition:
“I can lose everything but I cannot lose my God; if I have my God, I have everything!”
All Glory belongs to our Father in Heaven!

Then, we have the Soaring Phase. while the waiting phase gives the input, the Soaring phase generates the output. It is the phase of stepping out in faith. It is also the phase of action! I Tim 4:15 says, “ Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress”. It is the visible working out of our salvation in fear & trembling. It’s entering the terrain where the battle is to commence in full battle gear. It is moving to the pole position of a race, with the right foot standing by on the accelerator pedal. It is stepping into the harvest field equipped with the ready harvesting tools! Both Waiting & Soaring are necessary stages of the Christian experience. However, the problem always lies in the transition. We see this in the Israelites’ 40 years of wilderness journey. They got lost - instead of waiting and praying, they complained, murmured and backslided and even involved in idol worship of a golden calf they made. Sometimes, we all pride ourselves to say we are a “work-in-progress” (WIP) the Christian growth. A great humble statement. However, If someone is a WIP all his life (all his Christian life), and for many years there is no evidence of changes of character and lifestyle, something is not right. Sometime ago, there was a halfcompleted building standing along Beach Road, and everyday when I drove pass it, there was no activity, there was no change, reason being the realtor went bankrupt and all works ceased. This is not a building with a WIP label. It is in fact, a WIS (Work In Stagnation). Dear Brothers and Sisters, I blessed you that you will be a WIP with visible progress in your life and the year 2019 will be a season of positive transition from Waiting to Soaring to the heights of His calling and Destiny that is specially carved out uniquely for you! Amen! Bro Francis Leong
