The
KING’S SCROLL NEWSLETTER OF JESUS MY KING CHURCH
OCTOBER 2016 ISSUE
Greeting in the Powerful Name of our Lord Jesus that will bring us absolute victory over the darkness that is to come in the last days! The Lord has been giving repeated warnings of a coming darkness that is going to be a challenge for His people. Whatever form the darkness may take, and how it is going to affect the world, Singapore, the churches at large, the JMK family or our individual lives, our Lord has assured us of victory if we were to seek Him and adopt His battle plan and strategy to push back the darkness.

The Lord seems to be telling us one thing - Prayer is an indispensable weapon we need very much during the end-times both as the defensive and the offensive strategy to fight the enemy. We all know before a soldier uses a weapon, he needs to be trained to use it. I remember in the days of national service, each soldier is tested on how fast he can disassemble a rifle and then re-assemble it in the shortest possible time. He was also trained to load up the magazines with bullets, learn every function of the weapon, and on how to aim and shoot. A wrong understanding of the parts of the weapon or misunderstanding how the weapon is to be used will render the rifle a useless weapon, or worse still, endanger the life of the soldier and his fellow comrades in the platoon or battalion. Thus we need to know about prayer and how to pray in order to be an effective warrior. If you have missed the messages delivered by Pastor Steven over the past weeks, especially on the WTC sessions, I suggest you tune in to Youtube to listen to the online version in which he dealt extensively on the subject of prayer as the end time strategy and weapon in the battle to push back the darkness!

COP Mission Trip to Batam From 16
th
to 17th September 2016 the Batch 7 COP Advance Dlploma Cohort had an eye-opening (ie spiritual eye-opening) experience via the first ever mission trip planned for COP students! Led by Elder Melvyn, a group of 20 students excitedly met at Harbour Front on the morning of 16th September, waiting to board the ferry to Batam Island where the mission trip was to take place. Upon reaching the island, the group checked into a Gideon Hotel, and it was not a coincidence that this had to be the name of the hotel - “Gideon” which paralleled the characteristic of a warrior, a warfare and of course, a victory. Well, the group was really here to engage in warfare of a spiritual kind with the opportunity to exercise their spiritual warfare knowledge and skills acquired from the COP Modules in the past few months! Divided into 4 groups, the students visited children daycare centres, hospitals and some village homes to minister to the young, old, sick and the needy. A common sentiment shared was the sensing of the presence of God throughout the mission trip where salvations, healings and miracles were witnessed. There is no better way to understand the students’ heightened feeling of blessedness and awe this trip gave them, than to read their testimonies directly from their lips. Below are short extracts from the students’ testimonies. Read them with a prayerful heart to thank the Lord and intercede with them for the seeds sown via this mission trip to germinate and grow to fruition! To God be the Glory!

Sis Esther G says: “It was a time of stirring everything that was imparted to us throughout the course journey. It was a great time of unity bonding with one another; sharing, caring and praying for the needy in Batam. Happy to be with the “God encounter team”.” Sis Viji says: “It was great to see in action how God can use simple people like us to touch others. It was a prophesy come true for me. Tremendous fun-filled experience and time bonding with all the COP students.” Sis Sarah says: “What a wonderful and marvellous experience we had in this God ordained mission trip and we will always treasure it.” Sis Shekinah says: “Overwhelming experience serving the little children living in the slums and ministering to the sick and needy. It was awesome to see the Lord’s works in the lives of the people who had their doors open for HIM! Bro Teck San says: “The fruits of excitement, passion and compassion of the COP students were the evident mark of the ministry of humility and love showed towards the needy families and children in the villages and slums.” Sis Christine says: “Praise God the Almighty! Nothing beats the experience and the joy of being a vessel for our good Lord’s love and healing touch flowing to His people. The Lord’s Presence was so tangible and every countenance of the people was so joyful after they received prayers. Doing His work truly transcends barriers of race, culture and language and I discover that it is so important to be at the right place, with the right people, at the right time. All Glory be unto Him!” Sis Ruth says: “We certainly felt the power of God gushing out of us as we prayed for the people at the altar! Such power and anointing! It was indeed an awesome mission trip where our eyes were opened to the compassion of God for the poor and needy and our hearts were stirred and deeply moved to do more for God!”

Sis Patricia says: “I remembered what I learned in College of Prophets and exercised to wait upon God for a Word of knowledge and spoke it into the those who were sick and distressed. I was surprise to see myself as a vessel of God as the Word release was an affirmation, healing and blessing to them.” Sis Amanda says: “It was an amazing experience for me because I saw the hands of God were upon each one of us regardless of age and background. I was so amazed by the sharing of each person and how much each has been used by God. Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! All glory to God!”
Sis Erin says: “I thank God for giving me an opportunity through the COP mission trip to testify of His goodness and love to the kids in the adoption home at Batam. During the night meeting, we witnessed God using the entire COP team as His vessels to anoint and pray for the sick and needy. As we were praying, many were slain in the Spirit. It was my first time to literally see, feel and experience the powerful manifestation of God.”

Bro Emmanuel says: “God’s strong presence during the night meeting delivered many out of their bondages. It was awesome as the COP students prayed for the congregation. All in all, I certainly thank God for the opportunities to experience His Presence and Divine interventions in numerous circumstances during the trip. “This is certainly not the end; this is not even the beginning of the end; this is just perhaps the end of the beginning. To God be all Glory!” Sis Esther Goh says: “The presence of God was strongly manifested during the children’s home school visitation, evening church services and home visitation to elderly sick couple. We were given opportunity to pray and minister to them, declaring health and wholeness into their life.” Bro Michael says: “We were so moved as we interacted with the children from the villages with games and songs with them. I thank God for the opportunity to pray for some of the children declaring Faith into their lives. I was overwhelmed with God’s goodness and hug them all. This trip certainly showed me what empathy meant. Sis Wendy says: “We saw the mighty hand of God moving powerfully among all of us in the areas of praying, interceding and prophesying. God’s presence was so strong that all those who came for prayers were ministered, healed and restored. We also had great ministry time praying for the sick in the hospitals, in some villages, old folks’ homes and children homes. This mission trip has enriched all of us in many ways.” Sis Juddy says: “This mission trip helped us apply everything that we have been taught in the 2 years in COP. We learned to be more focus and attentive to the spiritual atmosphere; in releasing the Word of prophesy, laying of hands on the sick & needy and casting out of demon possessed. It was an awesome time of bonding through the rooming and doing ministry together and most of all humbled that God used us to bless the people in Batam.” Elder Melvyn says: “I truly thank God for wonderfully connecting me with Pak Deny and with his amazing team in Batam to organise all the meetings and visitations in a short period of time. It was truly a divine connection. I truly thank God for the supernatural faith encounters, stirring of all the gifts and impartation that was released upon the COP students. Everyone who came experienced breakthroughs in becoming His vessel to touch and transform lives for His Glory. It was truly a God-taken-control trip!”

The enemy is ever ready to get us to the wrong side of the prayer platform. He is never afraid of pharisaical, religious prayers but he trembles when God’s people travails in prayer in the power of the Holy spirit, backed up by a life of consecration, obedience and faith on the Father. He easily ignores the Christians whose prayer requests focus only and merely on selfish needs but becomes wary of prayer warriors that seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, and pray for salvations and revivals! It is our choice on which side of the platform we want to stand.
Dear Brothers and Sisters, as the season is here where God’s mandate for the church leadership is to train the church for warfare, our urgent response is very much needed. Let us engage a higher gear in our personal prayer journey as well as avail ourselves to JMK’s corporate prayer and fasting thrusts, starting with our monthly prayer meetings.
