Health Ministry Mental Health is defined as a “state of well being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities can cope with the normal stresses of life can work productively and fruitfully and is able to make a contribution to his or her own community. There are a lot of factors that contribute to good mental health. We must first know ourselves and our abilities and limitations. We must be able to stay within these limitations and not add more stress to ourselves. We must try to remain positive. When we can no longer be positive begin to stress ourselves beyond our limits or begin feeling useless we need to seek help to keep ourselves mentally healthy. Sometimes just talking with a friend will help but more often a trained professional will be of greater assistance. Some agencies that can help are RESPOND 423-499-2300 Fortwood Mental Health Center 423-634-8995 and Partnership for Families, Children and Adults 423755-2822. Our mental health is as important as our physical well being and can affect how we live our lives. Stay positive and have a great week! It is not enough for us even to defend innocent human life. Of course if we fail to do this we fail in our most urgent task. But by good deeds of love and charity we must build this active culture of life that is ready ad capable of turning back hell itself. If we won’t put the abortionist out of business we are parable souls. If we don’t enact laws and work tirelessly to change human hearts so that life is forever reverenced and protected we have not fought the good fight which is our charge as the Church Militant. As warriors we must first beat back the enemy. But then let us not forget that we are warriors for the victory of life! Most Rev. Parents who are the Deacons, Priests, Sisters and Brothers of tomorrow? Encourage your children to be open to God’s call.

“There is a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish but what good are those for so many.” Many in the crowed were Semites (Jewish and Arab descendants of shem son of Noah) who had a strong ethic of sharing food and drink. They would have brought provisions for the day that their custom required they share with others. But the Semites are human. To avoid sharing they might keep their provision hidden until later, when they were alone. Only John includes the little boy with the basket of five loaves ad two fish. They wee probably the food his mother sent him to buy for family dinner. He freely gives it to Jesus. He did not keep any for himself. Jesus blessed it and broke it and gave it away. He did not keep any for himself. These two acts of generosity were observed by the thousands of Semites. Did they then choose to be generous by sharing what they had with others? In the context of our ability to use our free will to choose to be generous or to choose not to be generous which is a greater miracle for Jesus multiplying loaves and fishes or multiplying generous hearts? How can we multiply generous hearts?
