Research Psychiatric Center Patient's Mental Health Journey Featured on KCTV5

As we approach the end of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, we want to visit with Linda Clavijo Fajardo once more as her own mental health journey that took her from contemplating suicide to finding help at Research Psychiatric Center was featured on KCTV5 News. We encourage everyone to watch this powerful segment to understand the importance of ment al health and the value of the resources our team at RPC provides to patients in need.

Daisy Award Winner: Alison Boudreau, Oncology Nurse

Congratulations to Alison Boudreau, Inpatient Oncology Nurse on 4 East. She was nominate by a patient after she went above and beyond for them after their recent leukemia diagnosis. "Everyone keeps telling me how important my nutrition is but I just haven’t felt like eating this food. I saw that they had burgers back on the menu and was excited to have one for dinner. Unfortunately, my burger never showed up and my nurse called down to get it but they couldn’t bring me one. She finished her shift and went out and purchased a burger and brought it back to the hospital for me. I know that seems small but it was so caring and kind. She really went above and beyond." Send kudos to Alison.

Atti Pannicke Becomes a US Citizen

We are so happy for our very own Atti Pannicke, nurse on 3 Central. Last week, she, along with 153 applicants from 53 countries, became a citizen of the United States. Atti has been with RMC for more than 6 years and our staff had a fun time celebrating her citizenship. "I was honored to be at the ceremony where Atti was with more than 150 others getting their US citizenship. I am not a very emotional person, but I got teary eyed," said her manager, Sheri Espinoza. Sophia Solomon, ACNO, said "we're so proud to have Atti on our team; when I ask others on her unit 'who would you always want by you when taking care of a patient,' they, more than not, say 'Atti.'" Congratulations , Atti! Welcome home! Add your well wishes here.
