RMC Hosts Two Day Ultrasound Seminar

Vote for Option 3

Last weekend, RMC hosted a two day ultrasound seminar for sonographers from RMC, Menorah, OPR and Centerpoint. The seminar covered neurosonography and transcranial doppler, two highly specialized ultrasound procedures. The team was able to gain a better understanding ofthe subjects as well as enhanced scanning techniques through hands-on application. Our speaker, Henry Suarez from Miami, Florida, was extremely knowledgeable in both areas and an excellent instructor for our teams. Those that attended were very thankful for the opportunity and felt their knowledge base greatly increased.

Yvonne Brewington, VPHR, Conducted a Walk-a-Mile with the Sheila and Rita with Food Services

"Every walk-a-mile is a different learning experience for me, but they all have something in common…..great people. This one gave me the chance to shadow in our Food Services department. Ifyou were not aware, Food Services just implemented a new process in order to improve on the delivery ofgreat quality food in a timely manner to our patients. They are split into teams and my walk-a-mile was with the duo Sheila Ward and Rita Roberson. They work in sync and well together! In fact that’s all Isaw during my time in Food Services was teamwork within the entire department. Next month will be Sheila’s 2 year anniversary and Rita is a member ofour 20+ Club. Ilearned so much from both of these colleagues and hopefully they will allow me back to work with them again!Thank you both for teaching me the ropes!"

"Ihad the pleasure ofsitting in on the Transplant team's Selection Meeting last week. It was humbling to hear the care and thought they put into each patient as they reviewed their current status and opportunity for a kidney and/or pancreas transplant. Each team member's role was vital to understanding the full patient and there was such a high level ofcollaboration and passion. It was a great learning opportunity as we celebrate National Kidney Awareness Month and very thankful for being able to sit alongside an amazing team!"
